Customers find value in the Steel HR Activity Tracker + Heart Rate's excellent battery life and stylish design. Many appreciate its accuracy and ease of use, along with its ability to track heart rate and sleep. However, some users report inconsistencies with step tracking and skin irritation from the band. The step tracking and band issues are reported by a smaller number of users.

Nice watch, but few issues

I liked the watch, because of the style. It does not look like a fitness tracker, but a real watch.
I liked the app Withings has and works with the watch.
It has a nice battery life, about 25 days.
It needs illuminated watch hands so you can see the time when in a dark area.
Other issue I had with the watch was moisture inside the watch. My lens had a moisture cloud in the middle of the lens. Sometimes it would stay for just little and other days, it would be gone.
If the two cons could be repaired, would be a great watch \ fitness tracker.

Bought this for my husband. He wore it a few weeks before noticing that the band was irritating his skin. And we went camping (never got below 50 at night) and woke up to condensation behind the glass. But now his skin must have gotten used to the band and we haven't noticed the condensation again and the watch still works fine. He still likes it and we will probably just look for a new band.

Nice Looking, Doesn't Count Steps Well

I have an i-Watch, but wanted this one because it was water resistant and I can use it Kayaking. I also like it to track my sleep. Wearing both watches, the Withings undercounts my steps in comparison to the i-Watch. Pluses are that it tracks sleep quality and time. The battery doesn't need to be charged very often. Also, the Withings App tracks steps from the i-Watch so I can wear either. i-Watch App does not, however, track Withings steps. Rubber band causes my wrist to itch and I will probably get another band. For its price, it's a much better deal than first Gen I-Watch. Tricky to attach charger.

Poor execution of a good idea

Overall, the watch is stylish and comfortable, but it doesn't preform well as a fitness tracker. I gave it one star instead of two because it's stylishness and comfortability doesn't make up for its lack of function and cost.
The Good:
-Generally performs as it is supposed to.
-Does look like a normal watch, which disguises that it is a fitness tracker.
-The band is comfortable; flush HR sensor.
-Good battery life.
The Bad:
-HR is inaccurate; e.g. my resting HR is 40, the watch tells me it's 90; rarely accurate during exercise. I'll complete a 10-mile run and the app says "didn't break a sweat."
-Sleep tracker is moderately accurate (some nights the watch claims I didn't go to sleep).
-Calculations for distance, speed, caloric expenditure doesn't auto correct after inputting the right data (I've been doing this for months now). I have to wear a second watch with GPS or record the data from a treadmill, etc. and edit the data on the app for accuracy
-HR will still track an HR even if I put it on a surface. Once I put it on a cloth chair, and the HR jumped up to 190.
-The watch keeps recording bad HR data into the Withings app such as a resting HR while conducting exercise. I have to spend a couple minutes a day deleting bad HR readings.
The Ugly:
-Watch arrived with internal condensation.
-Convex watch face easily scratches negating its stylish appearance.
-Over-priced for the features; plenty of other devices deliver on this.

I like wearing activity tracker, but they don't seem to last more than six months,
I decided to try this one because the Battery lasts a LONG time, I went 43 days before first recharge.
The way it calculates steps is more conservative than the other popular activity trackers, but I'm ok with that I believe it's more accurate than the ones that track every motion.
I always use the app for reviewing my day because I have a hard time seeing ALL of the activity trackers
The only thing I would like to see is better integration with the app, my smart scale doesn't integrate with Withings, so it's frustrating when looking at the whole picture.
I just bought the withings but I shouldn't of needed to.

After going thru 2 other expensive HR trackers in 2 years I decided to make a change. Both died just after warranty was up. I love how this Steel HR looks, it's less bulky when wearing long sleeves, looks very stylish, and it costs less. So far the charge is lasting around 2 weeks for how mine is setup. I will be switching the wife's (name brand) when it goes out again. She is on her 3rd. I'm hoping this has a better lifespan.

Absolutely love it! When my previous tracker bit the dust, I wanted one that had similar features, but a better (and replaceable) battery. Kept coming across positive reviews for this watch, but did not expect to find it in my market. Found it at my local Best Buy and fell in love - it has everything I was looking for, and looks spectacular. I'm ok with not having GPS, as I'd never go wandering without my phone for emergency anyway. Battery life is impressive, HR results appear accurate, and fit is very comfortable.

Being a watch fanatic, I was intrigued by this hybrid watch that looks like a traditional watch but has all the health tracking information you could want (unless you're a super-avid athlete, and let's face it--most of us aren't). Highlights are its extremely long battery life (my last tracker was a Microsoft Band 2, and I got so frustrated with constantly having to charge it). The small screen is easy to read. It seems really accurate on steps, and moderately so on heart rate (it samples your heart rate rather than consistently measuring, which helps with the battery life). One of the weaknesses of this watch is the sleep tracking. It is sometimes really off. It will sometimes show I had 8 hours of sleep when I had less than 5, and at other times will show I've had 2 hours when I've had 6. It's so inconsistent that it's really useless as a health-measuring tool. Maybe a future firmware update will help with this issue. I mainly use fitness trackers for the activity tracking, so it's not a deal-breaker for me. I wish it came in different sizes. I have an average-size wrist, and there seems to be a lot of strap wrapping around my wrist. It would have been nice to have had a second hand as well, but again, not a deal breaker. Overall, this has been one of my favorite trackers because of the looks and the activity accuracy.

Great overal design, small display...need the watch near to you to better understand notifications. Great for swimming or sports in general. Need a lot of improvements, all of them very feasible via firmwareupdate, hoping to get those soon, notifications handling are very poor, a lot of improvements are required there.

I like a big watch, and this one is the largest model they had by Withings. The setup easy and using it is even easier. I love the dual analog and digital perspectives on the watch. After I got it I discovered I need more on a watch so I returned it. Not to say it's not for someone else, but I want more than just steps and HR and a few other things. I would still say it's an awesome quality product.

If you have ever worn a Skagen watch, this feels like that only a little thicker. I like the simplicity of the watch and how it's more analogue than digital. I was looking for that. But it was overly simple and I needed more.
I think it's a great watch, but I'm not the right audience for it.

Great watch.
-HR and Steps projected to the withings app after midnight.
-Able to review average HR on the phone.
- Must have the Bluetooth on all the time.
-Does not matter when you sleep during the entire day, it totals them -for that day even for a Nap time. Not sure how it calculates
-love the notifications, I just turned on for appointment not for email or text msg.
disadvantage
-have to wear it. there is no way to take the snapshot of HR, and get it counted. Great feature on Pulse
-does not count step up and down on your regular day at home. Great feature on pulse
-don't like the belt.
not tried yet in the gym and swimming

Beautiful smartwatch that you can where anywhere. Sophisticated and yet very stylish. Clean lines. The software package is quite good too. it is not as polished as the FitBit one but certainly has all the basics.

Good watch and activity tracker. The phone interface could be better, hard to edit activities.
