Have had it for about three months so far works good more expensive than fire stick but definitely works better than fire stick. Use it for streaming mostly so far has been good. Use it with TV mate for recording was very easy to add USB to make room for recording.

No streaming box is perfect and I’ve tried them all. I enjoyed the Apple TV for its features and smooth interface but the shield has the features for a home theater enthusiast. I use it for plex and enjoy being able to utilize all of the lossless audio codecs.

By far the best Android TV box on the market... priceless!!!

Everytime I heard how good Nvidia Shield TV is, now that I have it I can tell yes such a little device is so powerful, I have Plex server in local and another in remote location, it is the best Plex experience, image is so good no need to transcode. Also its menu work very fast even when you have many things open.

Really loved knowing I can plug in my external storage drive and just install VLC or Kodi through the Android store with this device, and boom.. all my movies and TV shows are there and able to be played no matter what format they are in

I'm so glad after several Android Boxes and different Generations of Firesticks? I could have saved a bundle by using the NVIDIA Shield to start with! Just Buy It!

The new remote makes the entire device worth it. I love this device! It's a nice upgrade over the previous generation that I used for many years. Nvidia is committed to support and upgrades too. The previous gen (2017) is still getting regular updates./

Total game changer for me. I've been using Android based steaming devices for over a decade now and just made the switch to the Shield Pro on a whim. I had a new android streaming device on the way, and when it got here, I sent it right back unopened. Best purchase in a long time for me.

This thing is not for everyone. I bought it for the Plex Server and the AI upscaling. The AI upscale is basically an over sharpen filter (just max out the sharpness on your tv and it comes close) its seriously not that great. However the Plex Server is bananas! It does GPU encoding, multi stream (for the fam) and the overall speed is great. Most people that do not need Plex would be better served with a Google TV. The controller although good lack and input button so I STILL have to have the TV remote to switch inputs (for the price this seems to be a MAJOR oversight) The other INSANE letdown is Game streaming (THE ONE THING THIS SHOULD DO FLAWLESSLY) It is very hit or miss. I ended up installing moonlight (funny that a third party uses nvidia tech better than nvidia) In other words unless you need a plex server pass on this device.

Overkill for just a TV streaming box since it's designed to stream GeForce Now games, but that also makes it the best TV streaming option. Zero lag in menus, everything boots quickly, and streaming starts right away.
