I bought the 2016 I believe. And it was used all day and everyday. Then started to act up had to unplug it and let air for short periods of time. I love the new remote you have push button for volume instead of that slid controller

Highly recommend this item. I bought it for my sister for Christmas and she's not that tech savvy, but she set it up all by herself with ease. Logged in to her apps and was ready to go.

We use this to control all of our TV needs and it has been awesome. We even have the remote setup to turn the TV and the box off when we are done. Really nice product highly recommend.

Went from firestick to this. The price kept me away from buying it long time ago but after deciding to do it, i was stupid to wait so long. Will defiantly be buying 2 more for the house.

I very enjoy this Nvidia Shield. Easy configuration and provide the options to download many apps that I cannot download on my tv. Hands down the better route especially with the AI up scaling.

I love this device, have had a bunch of smart tvs over the last few years and this thing just works so much better. Quick, easy to use, easy to connect to the tv and all the apps I want. The google integration is very nice as well. Only complaint is the shape of the remote but it works so well that I don't really care lol. Id like to get another one eventually. I have it connected to a smart tv it is so much better than the TV's OS

I was told nvidia shield was top of the line for screaming, well i can truly say you want be disappointed, it exceeded my expectation and I enjoy using it. I normally use a fire stick but it's night and day for me.

I have no complaints at all with the Shield TV Pro so far -- been using it for a little over a month for watching sports, streaming Plex, and emulating vintage videogame systems.
Well, one small complaint: it randomly spins the external hard drive I connected to it through USB. Granted, there are ways to easily deny power to that port altogether in the Settings menu -- this is fairly easy to do and undo. But denying the port power altogether means accessing my Plex library through another device--my phone, say--is a no go. Not a huge deal, though; just trying to save a little wear and tear on the hard drive.

I upgraded from the previous (2017) NVidia Shield, which really isn't necessary unless you want Dolby Vision support. But if you can find it on sale, the upgrade might be worth it for you.

Upscaling is legit! Android TV is only so so. Not all apps are supported like on your phone, example is my local news app. I can't live stream on the shield. However, you can screen cast as a work around. ROKU did have that app though. Ran into a few strange issues that required a power cycle to fix.
