So...I have been waiting to buy this device for a while. It has not disappointed. I would be happy if it was just the AI up scaling but there is more. I have a three year old Vizio TV and have been somewhat unhappy with the picture quality. The 4k at times is good but not great. When i plugged in the NVIDIA Shield and put on the up-scaling I was shocked at home much better everything looked. One of the things that I had a difficult time with is the plex media server. I have a large data base of movies from my collection that I have digitized and trying to get them loaded to the device with my hard drive was one too many hurdles I wanted to contend with. Other more savvier tech people could probably get it figured out quick but I'm still just going to use Plex on the shield as a player. The remote can be a little funky at times. I'm still getting used to the ff button and the play button looking similar. It has all the apps you could want including library based media apps that have some good free streaming options as well. I highly recommend this product.

Simply the best streaming device on the market. Does HDR, Dolby Vision, and has AI upscaling which makes crappy old content look really good. Also I love the remote!

What an amazing machine. I finally went beyond firesticks for streaming, downloading, recording. The Nvidia has become my server for my entire home network. Fast network speed and amazing picture quality. It does the job so much faster and efficiently compared to my other media, streaming devices. It talks to all the rest of the devices on the network with no issues. I am so impressed with all of it's capabilities.

Most smart TV's, even the high end ones, have pretty laggy interfaces and apps run pretty bad or have limited support on them. This thing, while getting a little old on the hardware side, still runs incredibly well with the android tv OS. Apps are snappy, you can side load apps if you want, and its perfect for streaming with things like steamlink or plex.

Excellent addition to the home theater with better image and new options for Atmos sound via Tidal. Easy to setup and modify- if you need to modify

Great product. Its nice for tvs where the OS is no longer quick

Late adopter but I love the device. I got it originally for Steam link after Samsung smart TV's dropped support. I now use Sunshine and Moonlight on the shield and it works great. Usually just 2ms added in my network with this setup.

NVIDIA has been beyond expectations. My son has Apple, and I wanted that ability. Even he is impressed. All works well with ARC TV connections and a Samsung sound bar. Impressive picture on a Sony 4K. I love that I can choose AI upgrade to 4K on anything I view below 4K. You can use the menu to choose AI upgrade, and that is fast and easy. Netflix offered 4K UHD for more money per month. You do not need it, This NVIDIA pro does it all, easy. Small profile, it sits as a small unit. For your favorite programs, very easy. Netflix and Prime easy set up. We are cutting the cord. FYI Easy set up, Easy menus, and move fast to new programs

The Nvidia Shield is great for streaming. A Forbes of mine setup the shield with all the apps I need for our IPTV setup. It is very easy to navigate through the menus, and it runs flawlessly. It is extremely nicer than other streaming devices I have had in the past, and plan on buy a couple more for some of our other televisions. The box itself is nice and small, and can be put any where.

Great streaming box for the whole family. Comes with free games (controller soled separately), fast and responsive. Awesome remote upgrade when compared to previous models. If you don't have one get one.

I use this for all my streaming + home streaming. way better than using my tvs onboard apps. also great for running moonlight from my pc.

Nvidia Shield Pro is the best streaming device out there in my honest opinion. I have owned Chromecast, Firestick, Firestick 4K, and another off brand Android Box. This device blows them all away! It has a decent amount of internal storage, but you can add external flash drives, or hard drives to it to expand your storage space. It has Google Chromecast and assistant built it and you can download apps from the Play store or sideload them. I love the AI upscaling. I'm not much of a gamer but the streaming games on here are supposed to be phenomenal. It has a very unique remote that has buttons which light up when it senses movement. All around great Android streaming device.

Excellent device! I wish Nvidia would update it but this old model is still as solid as it was in 2019

Also have the 'other' 4k device. After dealing with issues between Plex off WS2019 server (16-thread VM) and unplayable input lag over Steam (fully Gbe local throughput) with recommended controller, decided to give this a try. Wow! Not only does watching content on LOCALLY RAN Plex outdo a 16-thread server, the upscaling on full disk rips far exceeds anything the 'other' 4k could accomplish. Using Steam with the additional Nvidia controller is playable over WIFI with better performance/less lag than the 'other' device could do over wired. If we didn't have as much of the other ecosystem in the house as we do, this would be our only device needed and still be able to accomplish more.

The one reason, and a very strong reason, to get this streaming device, specifically the pro version, is the AI Upscaling. I watch mostly sports. This upscales 60fps content to 4K, and it does it incredibly. I couldn't believe the quality. You can do a split screen demo mode that shows with and without upscaling. I know it's expensive, but I have 2 huge 4K TVs and this makes streaming content virtually 4K quality. I highly recommend for this reason.
