Best streaming device hands down. No contest. It is super fast. The picture quality is great. The AI enhancements actually look better. It is worth the money over other streaming devices.

One of the best smart tv/casting option out there. Havent had a chance to try out 4k,but used it as a netflix/hulu/hbo/etc box and also as a plex server, and both worked incrediby well

If you want the top of the line. Get this. It really performs well.
It is worth the upgrade. Controls are a lot better than on the
past modes. For sure, get this if you have dolby atmos.

I bought this to replace another popular streaming device that died. I don't know why this doesn't get better reviews, this streamer totally rocks! The remote lights up as soon as you pick it up. Button layout is okay but I no longer accidently launch apps in the middle of watching a show because I accidently pressed a raised button on the remote. You can actually turn this device on and off and the TV will turn on and off with it. Set up the IR and you will control the TV volume too! The app interface is from Google Play so just search out the apps you want rather than endless scrolling. Boom, done! AI interface is cool and it's a great media server!

This is probably won the most best streaming box out there. Great 4K quality really easy to set up with Google . Really easy to navigate. The remote is backlit.

The Nvidia Shield is the most powerful streaming media player on the market. I own several different types of devices, fire sticks, Rokus, chrome casts, Apple TVs, etc, and this is by far my favorite to use. I like that it has a usb port for me to watch media from a flash drive or external drive.
It is a bit pricey, but worth it.

I have every streaming device. But this is my go to device for everything that isnt 4k. Its able to upscale 60hz content that is on the live streaamimg channel. The 2019 tube the cannot do this. Plus i was tired of the tube gui lagging. Shield cannot do vc-1 or vp9. Only roku, Google tv and fire tv 4k can decode vc-1. Apple tv cannot. Apple tv hands down best gui. The Ai nvidia upscaling is really that good to warrant a 5 year old device still being relevant.

I’ll keep it short; this is a niche device and has a specific use. Two scenarios;
First use case;
If you are going to use it ONLY for streaming services such as Netflix, Max, Disney, Hulu, Amazon, etc, then I would NOT recommend this device.
The latest ATV is miles better both in picture quality and app stability. Nvidia Shield does not even support auto frame rate matching on these apps. This means you will see judder on any 24p content, if your TV doesn’t process it automatically (most 120hz TVs takes care of it). Also it doesn’t support AV1 format, which means you get no HDR on YouTube.
Second use case;
You want to go down the rabbit hole. Install Stremio with RD and you’ve got a dream machine.
Beats any device in existence for this use case and it supports any lossless audio format with Dolby Vision and HDR10.
Also don’t forget to get smarttube ;)

Easy to login,
Lot of memories,
Plus enough space for new apps.
You can watch your favorites movies on Netflix,
Top images, 4K upscale, 1080
I’ve recommend to my friends ,
Easy setups

The latest model of Nvidia's Shield Pro is more than a few years old at the time of this review, but the interface is as snappy, if not snappier than your TVs UI. I was having trouble running a smooth Plex server on my gaming PC, but transferring it to this bad boy cleared up any stuttering I was experiencing, even with simultaneous streams.

Works great using Plex 4K HDR content. Supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. I was not able to get other devices such as Apple TV to work with Dolby Atmos and Vision correctly.
It's insane. AI is night and day 8seriesnanocell65

I haven't had it long enough to even sort of get a grasp on it, but I can say across the board, the "GUI", 'stock' for my 2019 65" 8600pua? it makes it look like... well what it is generally 1080p. With the shield it's 2k. I don't believe in calling "4k" 4k until 8k is the norm and then it can be 4k. I don't get why there's the exception/alteration when 4k hits the big time. But anyways. You touch the power button and it's on before you can say one word. Complete menu. I'll update after I magisk and plex it but don't get the tube or 8gb version. It sucks spending 250 for the controller and shield when I just bought a 900$ tv after-tax when I feel it should have (tv) performed this way from the start.

4K , Dolby Atmos, AI upscaling , butter smooth interface , high end NVIDIA GPU, GEFORCE game streaming beats all competition hands down ,Including Apple TV , yes bit pricey , but this one makes you feel good about the investment , just go and get it if you have the budget , one final thing did I forget to mention the remote ? That Toblerone chocolate bar looking highly efficient remote , yes again don’t even think twice just get it , and don’t buy in $50 android boxes on amazon they are not worth it , how do I know ? Personal experience!

My wife and I have been die hard Apple cult members for a long time. We like the idea of keeping everything on the same ecosystem. It just works good when everything is made by the same manufacturer. After about a year of my business partner telling me I need to switch from Apple TV’s to Nvidia Shields I gave in and bought one. Over the past two years they’ve become our go to. I’ve bought 4 for myself and even have my parents on them now too. We love being able access apps like Kodi on a streaming box that actually outperforms an Apple TV.

Is it becoming outdated? Yes. However, it remains a strong contender among home streaming devices. Although it operates on Android TV (Google's earlier version of TV experiences), it's still impressive. NVIDIA will continue to provide updates, with the latest in January 2025. Its wired networking capability gives it an advantage over other streaming devices, and its compatibility with Steam Link and XBOX cloud gaming is an added bonus for enthusiasts. In summary, it's a worthwhile choice for anyone who enjoys digital media and desires a device robust enough to manage just about anything.

If you have a high speed internet connection and like to game as well as stream movies and shows, I recommend this. There is an extensive library of Steam and other PC game provider services available on it. You have to digitally own the game and have the GForce Now service, which is currently $5 per month. Check GForce Now to see what games are compatible. This machine is great, the user interface is very easy to use and it manages updates well. A big benefit is having all movie streaming services on one platform since Nvidia seems to be neutral territory and having them all work flawlessly. My PS4 hasn't gotten much attention since I bought this!
