Great for downloading any streaming apps and easy to install, plus with it's design it can be placed anywhere. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes to stream.

This is by far the best smart tv device out there. I upgraded to this from the 2017 model to get the 4k AI upscaling and it's totally worth it. I have encountered a few issues though such as the YouTube app freezing and requiring a full system reboot and the volume on the remote often gets stuck going to min or max by itself. Not sure if this is the hardware fault or an Android issue.

I had the older Shield and was happy with it. I was interested in the new version and decided to get it for my Christmas gift. It seems to be a little faster and better color resolution. The thing I like best is the triangular remote. I ordered an extra one for my old Shield. It was moved into the bedroom and improved our streaming capability over the Roku we had been using. Shield IS the Best!

Its great to have when you stream a lot of media and the AI upscaling is a fantastic feature if you have 720p movies in your media library. I'm also extremely impressed with the remote it feels and functions much better the the flat minimalistic 2017 counterpart and illuminated buttons are a great touch. I highly recommend getting this , Nvidia knocked it out of the park with the Shield Pro

I originally spent 150 on the tube shield but the box is so worth the money for 50 bucks more u have a amazing streaming device it continues to receive updates and is currently on Android 11. Nvidia truley knows what they are doing don't waste your money on sticks the will lag.. or other boxes this here will blow ever other box out of the water.

But I still had to get it.
I don't game on the Shield so all the horsepower improvements really don't offer me any benefits. I use it strictly for video.
The one big feature I was looking forward to was AI scaling. This was actually a big disappointment. I work with large photoshop files (actually small files that I have to make bigger sometimes) and you can't create good detail from small images. When you blow up the images you also blow up artifacts and imperfections. You can hit it with filters and do some manual manipulations to better the image but it's still no where near what a native high res image would look like. In my opinion the AI scaling uses way too much sharpening and actually adds too much detail to compression artifacts. If you had a high bitrate source maybe the scaling would work better, but most my sources are streaming services or old DVD rips and a few BR rips from years ago. Upscaling with a slight blur looks better as it doesn't enhance the poo-poo in the video and I can't stop seeing the artifacts with AI upscale.
Honestly I'd have been better off saving my money and sticking with the 2017 version, but I love how nVidia continues to improve their products with firmware upgrades and features. If this were owned by Samsung they'd have abandoned it after 6 months. The 2017 version had an upgrade just a few months ago. So I had to show some support to the best android tv device out there.
Helps low quality images by employing AI Upscaling

Really cool product that has a ton of utility. Can run practically anything you can download to it. Super solid operation with a quick interfaces that beats the crap out of anything available in a TV interfaces.
The greatest ability it has is making lower quality video look BETTER by using AI trickery. It really must be seen to be believed. There's even a mode that splits the screen showing you the before and after.

I purchased this to upgrade from a 4K fire stick as it wasn't handling my streaming needs very well across the multiple platforms I subscribe to. I also wanted to do some lite gaming. I'm very impressed with how easy it was to set up. The speed of the unit is amazing compared to my fire stick. Overall it's a fantastic unit, since I'm coming from a fire stick, it's a big upgrade for me.

Pro
Supports virtually all media formats
Lots of ports
Can run a Plex server
Access to Play Store
Con
Expensive at $200
No USB-C
Android TV home screen is a mess these days
Too many pre-loaded apps
But I still recommend it

Great streaming device, it's fast and I haven't seen it buffer yet. I prefer the android over the many other streaming devices that I have tried in the past. I like the Google play store and it's easy to link up with my Google account and other devices. Very user friendly device, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top notch streaming device.

I was hesitant to purchase this product but now I regret not buying it sooner. The picture quality is AMAZING and my streaming is flawless. Better than Apple TV.

I love my NVIDIA Shield TV box. It is much faster and has better sound than the Android on the smartTVs. So if you have Android on your set and you say what is the point to get the Shield box take it from me and get it. I don't play the games so that does not move me. I just think the Shield is the best way to stream all of your favorite channels and have them in the same place.
