Great all around, one gripe I have with it is that it forces you to sync your gmail if you have subsriptions to google owned services like youtube. There's no way to lock it so literally no privacy. Solution is to make a dummy gmail or use your phone chromecast for certain apps.

I have tried two other brands of streaming devices before finding what I really wanted as I didn't want to be out a lot of money. However, you get what you pay for. This device is great and is also a gaming unit that my grandkids will appreciate.

I bought this in order to play emulation and have an all around tv hook in for Netflix and it does everything perfectly. The remote works great as well as Bluetooth controllers can be connected to it to play android emulation and games. Very happy with this product

I have 2 2019s and a 2017, these are by far the best media streaming devices. The biggest downside to these is no HDR10+ and the internal youtube app doesn't support HDR which may or may not matter to you. The new remote is awesome.

The Nvidia Shield is so customizable due to Android TV and its dual USB 3.0 ports. EVERYTHING connects to this thing. The ONLY reason to give four stars is while the remote is an upgrade over the old model, the box itself is not a major upgrade, even sharing the same model number. Last model included excellent game controller and old remote for same price.

This is the only streaming box worthy of this sort of price tag. There's an option for just about everything. Great for a Plex media server and gaming setup. Connects to just about every controller I have and has gotten a lot of mileage streaming games from my PC to the couch. Being able to run emulators on it is a plus, too.
My only complaint is the frame rate matching outside of Plex and Kodi, but luckily it runs on Android, so someone came up with a third-party solution.
It might not be the best plug & play option. I would most likely only recommend it to tinkerers and power users looking for an all-in-one option, but those people probably already know this is what they're looking for. This is the alternative for running a ridiculously long HDMI cable from your computer to your TV.

This is my second shield. I use it to stream video. The picture and sound quality is superior to other streaming devices. You can also download third party streaming software to access movies and television shows. I would recommend a VPN for privacy.

As a Plex user, this is the only device that can play TrueHD & DTS-X files. Any other device would either convert the signal and not work and/or not work at all. The recent updates have optimized the SHIELD to the best it can. Apple TV+ is coming soon for the other Apple Users like me that care about that. It's basically a mini computer. It's that power. The AI-Upscaling is cool too but personally I don't like the effect.
All apps and other features work extremely well. HOWEVER the price tag is a problem for a casual (non-Plex) user and I cannot recommend it. Buy a Roku or the new Chromecast. A quarter of the price but the same values and functions.

Shield TV is the best media player on the market in the US for streaming. It may cost a few bucks more then the others, but there is no doubt about which is best.

Excellent video streaming box. Extremely smooth 4k video. Great wifi distance. AI upscale is great too. Hell, even the remote is excellent! Get one of these, you will not be disappointed.

So far so good. Only using this for streaming apps currently. I have not used Geforce Now yet. Response time is very quick and Dolby Vision is working just fine.

This thing is great! I was using Rokus and very laggy firestick. The Roku is great but it's very limited as to what you can do. However this Nvidia is amazing! So much you can do.

A game changer for all my streaming services. Much better than the included LG smart software on my OLED TV. Plus it can run any Android app if you sideload it (small workaround, easily Googled).
