I use this device to stream movies. A lot faster than the fire stick from Amazon. I wish I had bought it a long time ago. It would have saved me a lot of time.

How do you prevent content from lagging when you have 3GB of RAM? Anyway I still recommend this bad boy. Upgraded from an Amazon fire stick just for movies. Don’t really use the gaming features at all. Too grown for games :-D

The Shield is impressive. Not to mention it looks cool.....and I'm a 64 year old Vet and I have 3 of the 4K Firesticks and 2 of the 2nd gen Cubes. I like my Cubes don't get me wrong, but I've been salivating for one of these for 2.5 years now. And they don't go on sale. I'm not a gamer so I use it exclusively for streaming purposes, and so far it has run flawlessly. A few changes in the settings and voila, you have an additional noticeable improvement in the performance. Not to mention plug and play usb for extra storage

This is a one of a kind powerhouse unit. Its not really for beginners but a few youtube videos will have you up and running beyond the normal apps . Great bang for buck

I had the last generation shield and wanted something that would allow me to set this up with an external for playing old school gaming and to use as a media streamer. I love the fact that you can customize the home screen apps without the forced locations like other streaming boxes. Also love the upgrade to 4k....wish more apps were supported, but eventually they may be. I took off one star because for some reason I have issues using direct ethernet on this version. Wifi works fine, but I always prefer a hard ethernet when possible and this would not connect using several different cables and directly to several ports on router. Probably got a defective port, but didn't see the need to get bent out of shape when it works fine with wifi.

Replaced my HTPC setup with this and wow everything just plain works. It is fast, responsive and plays media at ultra high quality. Big upgrade

I've owned many other competing devices. This device works and it works very well. Should have bought it long ago and skipped the rest.

Absolutely the best streaming solution out there, Fire TV and Chromecast can't come close to comparing. Worth every penny.

Really fast! Great resolution. If your looking for a 4k streaming then this is it! Pricey but worth it.

Better than roku in most cases. Roku is easier to use. But nvidia is powerful. Plex media server is awesome.

Very fast and very stable. If you are ready to step up the ladder and take your streaming to the best level i would recommend getting the shield

I installed this great product in my home theater and I'm extremely happy with it. I mainly purchased it as a PLEX server and I've found it to be an awesome performer as a PLEX server. It found and mapped seamlessly to my NAS drive (WD MyCloud) and also does an amazing job streaming Netflix, Amazon and YouTube. I haven't used it for gaming, but I plan to try that feature in the near future.

This has so many more features over the Chromecast with Google TV. So much snappier, and the emulator options are fantastic.

Amazing picture quality. Great UI. Worth every penny even just for streaming. If you invested the money in a new TV get the best picture for that TV

Of you are in the market for a streaming media player, I would definitely recommend purchasing the Nvidia Shield. User friendly, tons of apps and content.

So far I am enjoying the shield. It seems much faster than the fire cube. Would have given it five stars but settings aren’t expensive and have some me issues when pairing the PS4 remote via Bluetooth.
