I was a little unsure at first, but after bring the Shield Pro home, I couldn't be happier. What this little box can do is pretty amazing. Gaming is never going to be console level, but that's ok, it's a great box for doing casual gaming on your TV and has pretty much ever game you could play on a tablet, which is alot. Where the Shield really shines is it's library and capability as a Media device. Watching Live TV, DVRing that TV (via HDHomeRun App) and acting as a Home Media Server (via Plex App) are unbeatable features for those looking to cut the cords from Cable Provider or simply make the content they pay for available everywhere in their home.

This is truly the best and most versatile media tv box ever but the operating system still needs tweaking. Sometimes restarts are required to properly wake up the system. Connecting via Ethernet to a gaming pc is an awesome way to get many games on your big screen but doesn't work with all games well. A Logitech keyboard and especially their mouse is necessary if you plan on side loading programs and utilizing their touch screen requirements

Nividia has developed a phenomenal Android gaming & video streaming system. Reviews & ratings are often diffficult to use as non-biased guide when purchasing any item. Because you seldom know the background or motivation of who is providing this feedback. This is why I seldom provide a review, unless I find an item which I believe is in fact superior and worthy of the "hype". This is the case with the Nividia Shield. It is an exceptional streaming device, superior to any other system I have ever used. And video quality will exceed your expectations, but yu must have a Tv or monitor with the graphics capabilities as well. Fantastic product.

This streams Kodi better than Apple TV and Fire TV. It is a bit more expensive, but can get a $50 break if you get Sling for 3 months. It is fast and has more ram than its competitors. Downloading and setting up Kodi takes 5 minutes. It took me over 4 hours doing it on Apple TV; Apple wipes it off every time it updates., which is so frustrating. I don't use it for gaming, but I did play a racing game once and it was decent.

This thing just works. Streams flawlessly, supports all Android Apps, plays both GeForce and Stream games with no lag. Completely silent and has Logitech harmony support, so go ahead and replace your old HTPC, this box is probably better in every way.

Faster then my Roku Ultra and more control of what you can do with it. Only problem I have is the remote could be better.

If you plan to get rid of cable this is the one to buy... pays for itself and is best one out. Have ROKU, Xbox One, and Apple TV hooked up to TVs in house, if had only one would be the SHIELD TV.

I bought this device with the intention of using it for media streaming. It does very well running kodi, Hulu and Netflix. Occasionally Hulu will freeze and the whole unit will need to be rebooted. I would definitely recommend this.

Great device for for its price. I you are looking for a device to down grade your existing cable service this is it.

We are streaming games from our PC to the SHIELD over our Wi-Fi network. We use the SHIED portable as the controller and display for our favorite games. ( Fallout 4 can be a challenge at times).

Have used LOTS of streaming boxes and NOTHING come close to this Nvidia Shield! I use mine with a HD Homerun Prime and also KODI and now have an entire world of entertainment at my fingertips. Even the 4K playback is FLAWLESS on this device. VERY VERY impressed! Make sure you get the one with 500 GB storage for the best experience.

Best cord-cutter & gaming device out right now. I have been very pleasantly surprised by this box.

I've got Roku devices scattered throughout the house, and wanted to jump into Android TV (not an Android device for TV, either - so that leaves either this or the Nexus). It's not the least buggy system - I had to disable all standby functionality based on the new software - but Google still hasn't jumped into LeanBack (Android TV) with both feet yet. What does work out of the box, works perfectly. The remote is infinitely better than Roku. The Shield TV is more powerful than an Xbox 360, and the controller works well. Imagine it as an Android phone, Roku TV, and Xbox 360 (without the full catalog) combined - and every day new apps come out. You can also sideload regular android apps too - I've had success 9 times on 10 with that approach. I run the DirecTV app on a TV that has no wired internet (for RVU) and no coax to wire up my DirecTV genie, and the Android tablet version of DirecTV gives me channels on that TV for the first time. Plex works better on this than on Roku as well. It's not perfect. It's not for a basic user (get Apple TV, it's great in its own right). But if you're an Android fan, like being ahead of the curve, and want the most powerful processor on ANY android device today (the X1), this is the product for you.

This device works as expected and is able to stream multiple games and movies to a 4k TV with out issue. Fast processor and plenty of room for storing movies.

The shield pro is a good device but is held back by a few flaws. It is unique among streaming devices in offering fully featured PC games for streaming through an expensive but appealing Gforce service. Unfortunately the games are almost but not quite playable via wifi. I tried using a powerline Ethernet connection but it has trouble working with the device and is actually slower via the powerline than via wifi, which I haven't experienced with any other device. The apps for streaming video are limited: hope you like google play and Netflix. It has HBO go and showtime anytime but unfortunately Comcast does not seem to support them at this time. Supposedly more apps are coming "soon" but I can't get an actual release date anywhere online.

This was has amazing picture quality. But the game stream does not work great goes in and out I have to sign back in many's time.

This makes streaming movies so easy and is also very fast!

This item has been on the market for a long time and Nvidia just seems not to care about the optimisation of their system UI. It is very clunky and I get crit errors often. Many times the system has to be rebooted to get some things to work correctly. I like the ideas just wish android tv had more options. Honestly id buy another PS4 or Xbone before buying another Shield.
