Customers frequently mention the SHIELD Wireless Controller's comfortable design, long battery life, and improved design over the original controller. They appreciate the wireless connectivity and find it works well with the Nvidia Shield. However, some customers express concerns about its durability, with a few reporting issues with the left joystick malfunctioning after a short period of use. Additionally, a few customers feel that the price is too high.

This controller works great with my Sheild, however I have not tried the controller on any other android players. For gaming, this is a great controller.

I'm a huge PC gamer and computer enthusiast. I bought this controller to replace my controller that came with my Nvidia Shield 2015 model. I gotta say this may be one of the best controller I have used. I would say this controller is on par with the NEW XB1 controller that has been updated and the PS4 controller. I prefer the xBox style over the PS4 so this fits my liking perfectly. I highly recommend this controller to anyone who owns a Shield.

I actually bought this to use as a pc controller and for that is actually really good.
Using it with the nvidia shield, it connects easily and works as it should. Most people may not notice if they’ve been a tv/console gamer but there is a bit of input delay, more so if you are trying to use geforce now.
But it still feels great as a physical product and doesn’t seem cheaply made.

Was easy to setup and does its job well. A bit pricey, but decided it was best to buy the name brand.

Bought this controller to give my 2015 Shield TV capabilities of the 2017 model (eventually, once the google assistant update comes out). Tried playing a few games with it with gamestream from my computer. Maybe I just have bigger hands than normal but this controller is much smaller than last year and feels a bit cramped when pressing the trigger trigger buttons.
No lights or anything visual to indicate it's on like the last model. This controller does support force feedback while playing nvidia cloud streamed games but not games streamed from my home computer.

I bought this to use with my laptop.. First one I bought only connected to blue tooth once, if left plugged in, on restart or power up it would blue screen my laptop. Returned it and got another one, works just fine. It still blue screens on start up saying driver power issue, so I just turn off Bluetooth before I power down and turn it back on after start up. The edges are a little rough, but all in all a really good controller.

I wish this was included with the Shield Pro. Shelling out extra is not great. I did manage to get it at a discount of 20% which made it a decent enough deal.
Other than that, yes, there have been many, many reports of joystick drift. My previous version had it, the replacement also had it after which I threw it in the garbage. After buying the Shield Pro, i realized there weren't many other alternatives that offer the same feature-set (voice control, mic, general integration with Shield and GeForce) that I bought another one. No issues yet, but I am wary from past experience.
TLDR; older version ad h/w issues. Verdict on new one is still to come. But no other controller integrates with Shield the same way.
