Beautiful game. Beautiful CE. Would give 4.5 stars only for the slight shoddy pop up book. I have to glue parts back on to make it work. Brings back the 16 bit era of rpgs for sure

I would say this is a very well made game and if you haven't tried it yet you can always get the Demo to see how it plays for you but unfortunately once the Special Edition is gone it's gone and you only have 3rd buyers for new or used to get the game from.

Finally. A return back to former glory. This game screams everything that was magnificent about Square when they were making Final Fantasy games back in another era. Updated graphics, gameplay mechanics, but still the same charm and character of the old gems. Very highly recommended.

I don't play many RPGs, but this game is really good. The characters are all very interesting and the story has been great for the 15 hours I've played so far. The Wayfarer's edition itself is really cool. Having a pop-up book is something I haven't seen before and it's very unique.

A solid traditional jrpg. Quality game play. The characters have such unique skills and play styles that makes it feel like a completely different experience each time. The special edition packaging is also top notch. Oversized box looks nice and is not obnoxiously large like BotW.

It is a great game if you're a fan of the classic jrpgs from the 16 bit era or just an RPG fan in general! This is a great, lengthy and beautiful game with some of the best soundtracks I've heard in many years, it's absolutely a must buy, specially the nice Wayfarer's Edition.

This game is amazing! In 2018 we have a traditional turn based JRPG! Combat is fluid and strategic, graphics are very unique and give the feel of playing on the SNES! This game is a must for any fan of original final fantasy games or any other JRPG’s from the SNES days!

This game takes quite a few pages from Squares SNES days while still keeping the gameplay fresh and unique with a great combat system and 8 characters to choose.

One of the best Collector’s Edition type releases in awhile that really is inspired by the game, as opposed to just being a nice statue from it. The book style package, pop up book itself, coin, cloth map, and selection of music are all perfectly inspired by the game.

This game is a great throwback to the snes era. It is not without flaws (story could use some work/better character interaction), but great visuals, amazing sound track and killer combat. I cannot recommend this enough if your looking for that old school JRPG itch.

As far as the game itself, it's beautiful. The soundtrack is reminiscent of Square of yore. The battle mechanics are nicely fleshed-out, the characters are charming. The problem is that the nature of the characters don't ever intertwine to a point where it's believable. There's no single one baddie that everyone can get behind and take down, it's very silo'd and segmented. There's no real reason behind some altruism for the dancer to get behind the hunter to assist in her journey. The lack of a protagonist vs. antagonist is felt, and is the sole lack in this game. Overall 8/10.

While it has some flaws, this is a great JRPG from Square. Solid battle mechanics, fantastic music, and gorgeous visuals. My only complaint is that 8 characters seems to be too much and trying to progress through the 8 separate stories can be a little tedious.

When this special edition launched, I just had to grab it. It features an awesome soundtrack, fancy gold coin, and a cool pop-up book. In addition, the game inside also has special artwork on the case unlike the regular 60 dollar game you can get separately.

I really love this game I have put only about ten hours in and I am hooked. I picked up the Wayfarers Specifically Edition and it is an awesome package. I highly recommend picking up either edition if your a rpg fan. For me it’s a must have for the Switch.

The Switch is quite honestly the perfect home for the RPG and Octopath Traveler gives you an old-school flair that works in modern times. Just really fun and the Wayfarer's Edition is a cute collector's edition that helps you appreciate the game even more.

Wow, just wow. This game brings back such nostalgia of the SNES RPG era and engulfs me in a world that I just can't get enough of. The battle mechanics are some of the best I have ever experienced in a game. This game is JRPG heaven - just brilliant!!

I love this game! Reminds me of Final Fantasy 6. I love the pixel graphics mixed with modern effects such as realistic backgrounds and full voiced audio. I have put 20+ hours in and haven't completed half the game. A must buy for Switch owners.

Wow, I was blown away by this game. Although it's unfortunate the stories don't directly intertwine there are MANY hidden things in the game that will make you love it for what it is. Definitely pick this up if you enjoy turn-based JRPGs.

Absolutely amazing collectors edition of this game! I would highly recommend anyone get it that didn’t preorder it, if you happen to find it in the wild. It’s one of my nicer collectors editions that I own. And the game is wonderful too!

The special edition quality is fantastic, the pop up book is very well put together and the other items make it a solid collector's item. The game itself is a great tribute to 16 but JRPGs with an updated and accessible battle system.
