I currently own the HTC Vive and Playstation VR. I decided to buy the Oculus Rift for a second time because I wanted to try out the touch controller to see how much it added to the VR experience. Although it certainly was a step up over the Move and Vive controllers, the poor lenses in the Rift cause things to look darker and give off lens flares when white text is on the screen. I also prefered the tracking fidelity I got from my Vive way more as I felt it was much more accurate and my VR hands didnt get lost. Pros: Comfy headset Light Easy to set up Best exclusives and no workaround needed to play any VR game touch controls feel more natural than VR wands Cons: Headset made me nauseous while the Vive never has lens flare inaccurate tracking unless you buy 3rd sensor If you are new to VR and want a solid performer and dont want to spend 599- get the Rift. However, if you are willing to spend a bit more I would say go with the Vive and wait for the new controllers that are similar to the touch to come out. Thats what I will be doing.

I don't think I can sum this up enough to get how awesome these are in this short review. I really suggest that if you're interested in some VR goggles to setup an appointment with BB for a demo. Once you do and if you were really in the market for VR goggles you'll be making the purchase. Once I figured out how to navigate the application this has been nothing but awesome. From movies to video games you get an experience like no other. One thing I wish for was the ability to browse the internet and stream from there. There are apps that allow you to use this as your computer monitor and theoretically should allow you to browse but it is not the case or it's above my technical abilities. This is still a very new tech and lots of new companies joining the development. Looking forward to the future of VR.

I was skeptical about VR. I bought the rift on sale but would have paid full price. It doesn’t need as much room as the Vive which was perfect for me. It was super simple to get up and running. The games that came with it are fun. However after seeing how much fun they were I got to where I wanted to try more. The Oculus just happened to have bundle game deals so I bough several games. I will say the Rift is also great for other apps. They just released rift 2.0 and it’s great. From the virtual desktop to watching movies to drawing in 3D. I will say I had to limit my time to get my senses used to VR. I am glad I finally stepped into VR!

So, I bought the oculus rift after I have been dying to try it for at least a year. I planned on returning it because I assumed I might get bored. But let me tell you- there is no way I will ever get bored of this!! It is absolutely amazing. The clarity is perfect- the graphics are brilliant and it is so incredibly immersive that it LITERALLY blew my mind. Only con that I have found so far is the sensors. Without a third sensor and 360 degree tracking- some games do feel restricted. However there are ways around this and this is so worth it especially after the price drop. This is the future of gaming!!!!!!!!! IT IS A MMUSSTTTT BUY!

This is definitely the next generation of gaming. The immersion is unmatched and creates a sense of becoming a part of the environment. The price point is finally beginning to be affordable. With the new Oculos 2.0 environment the interactive work space provides an interface that makes choosing a game a true enjoyable experience. My only con is that the headset is very uncomfortable when wearing glasses and should have been designed with a focus ring to allow adjustments for people with prescription glasses. The Samsung gear VR has this feature and costs much less. However, the quality of the image greatly exceeds the Gear VR. This is a must buy and can't wait to see what the next version looks like and is a great beginning to a true VR Experience

My son asked for this for Christmas last year, but it was still too expensive. The price came down to $399 for Oculus Rift Touch this year, so I figured, what the heck, especially with the software update that's coming out now (Oculus Dash... YouTube it), and the Windows Creator update that just rolled out that's all about 3D and mixed reality... Anyway, I bought my son a $900 HP Envy x360 for Christmas last year, and I assumed that a $900 computer should be able to run Oculus. Not true. You need a discrete graphics card (at least a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, but preferably a GTX 1060... Big difference between the two, get the GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5)... Intel HD anything won't work because integrated graphics cards aren't powerful enough. You also need an HDMI port and at least 3 USB ports. In short, to get that combination you have to have at least a mid-range gaming laptop ($1200 ish). Regular laptops don't offer that combination, even the high end ones. Desktops that meet the specs aren't much cheaper. Furthermore, you can't get a touchscreen that meets those specs for less than $2,300, and if you want a 2 in 1 touchscreen that meets the specs, you mod-as-well forget it. Long story short, I thought I was buying a $400 gaming system, but with the $1300 computer I'm buying to be able to use it, it's actually a $1700 gaming system... Make sure you check your computer specs before you buys this, and be prepared to give up touchscreen and 2 in 1 for Oculus... That said, Oculus Dash looks awesome, and I can't wait to try it out, when the new computer arrives.

Earlier this year I purchased an HTC Vive....pain to setup, the Fresnel Lenses made it where only the center was in focus plus the Vive gave me horrible vertigo. Decided to try the Oculus Rift....EASY Setup....EASY Interface to work with. The head set fits well and is lightweight while still very sturdy. Field of view is VERY clear all the way around. Lots of free games that are really good. MUCH BETTER VR Experience! If you want to use a flight simulator, get FLYINSIDE FX plug in....makes flight sim very very life like.

We've not even bought anything to go with it, yet, just the system requirements and the games and such that are included. We're getting used to it, but the fun of that has been lasting on the entire family! The price was amazing and we can't wait to try it on more advanced games. I wear glasses and it's uncomfortable for me, so there is that one drawback. However, I went into the purchase knowing that might be a problem.

I was wondering why this one is the most popular one, and after using it for a week, it makes sense. The setup, the applications, and the audio visual quality is amazing. You just need to make sure your system can handle the unit and sensors. 3 USB 3.0 and a CPU/GPU combo that can drive the visuals. Played Start Trek Bridge Crew and a Horror game and wow. It's so emersive!

I purchased this unit as a holiday gift for the family, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the VR experience is today. I have previously tried a few iterations of VR headset, including the Samsung and Google units that use your phone , and these are okay - but the Rift is in a different league. The headset and the controllers (Oculus Touch) track in real time, without any lag, and make serious gaming possible and fun. The immersion level is amazing, even on older games like Skyrim. One word of advice - I did not realize that the headset is not good for the eyes of young children (less than 13). If you are purchasing buying for a young child, do some research and understand you will want to give that child very limited use of the headset so as not to damage their eyes!

You really do feel transported into new environments and worlds when using the Rift VR. There are a variety of games to select from...many to try for free. I appreciate being able to sort games via comfort level allowing hubby and I to find games we both like to play. Hubby can play and enjoy them all, whereas, I can get a bit motion sick. Our favorite at this time is Audioshield and Slingshot (part of the Lab). Both hubby and I also like how interactive the games are...you can break a sweat in some. Cons are few and we have found work arounds... Con 1...it took a bit of research to find how to play sound on both headgear and tv at same time. You do not need to download any additional apps, just need to find the correct toggles in Windows audio setup. Con 2...sharing the headgear after breaking a sweat is icky. We solved this by each wearing our own sweatbands. Overall... LOVE IT. It's only been about a month and we can't wait to try many more games on the Rift VR and expanding our library.

(Ramble Review so TLDR, if you are looking for a headset pick this one up, price better then Vive and works basically the same) Ok so I hardly review things like this but I have to when it comes to the Rift. I bought this device to work with some of the new ideas of Art with it using your room as a canvas almost and ended up loving the device so much I told most the people I know looking at its competition the "vive" that they should just go with this. And honestly if you debating saving money and getting this but don't want a lesser experience Don't worry this device works great, I would have given a 5 star but for my needs I needed a third sensor, for full 360 near flawlessly, but for the normal user who wants to play some games or just experience VR this is perfect, The only other thing about it is you have to slightly move one sensor off to the side or somewhere to get it to catch you better in case you turn around while using room scale, it came with 6 free programs and i have found myself actually using them, they are not just trash programs, The audio devices are built into the headset instead of being add-ons like the vive, and all around you end up getting the same thing any vive user has while in VR.

The Occulus is a truly amazing piece of technology. VR is a whole new way to experience games and other media. It actually blows any TV screen out of the water. However, it does take some getting used to and some games give me motion sickness. Overall, it is well worth the money to experience a whole new dimension of gaming.

I was hesitant to buy a VR headset. But when the price was $399 I couldn't pass it up. This thing is amazing! It has brought me back to an avid gamer again. Hours of fun. And my wife who doesn't game loves it. Sometimes she hogs it to herself. Best purchase I've made in years.

So I've had my eye on the oculus for a free years now. I was waiting for the price to come down, and I was able to pick one up for 350. The setup wasn't too bad. Once I downloaded and installed a few things to try... I was blown away, so cool. You really feel like you are inside the game. Worth the wait!

I have been playing PC games since 1983, I actually typed in the code! Take it from me, the Oculus is as revolutionary as anything since the Apple II. Plus, Facebook has plans to integrate the system into its social network. The future is virtual and at $400, early adoption is calling.

I was set on getting the HTC Vive, but ended up with the Rift because It went on sale and was $150 cheaper at the time. I am completely satisfied with the Rift. The screen door effect is only noticeable when you are looking for it. The tracking is great, though it could use a third sensor in the back for when you get turned around. I love the controllers. The included headphones are not amazing, but they are great and included unlike the Vive audio strap which adds $100. I considered buying a second one when I got this home and set up. Totally worth it. Great product. Glad that I made the purchase.

The Oculus Rift is the best way to get into VR on the PC. The price has come down to reasonable levels and the set includes the touch controllers and 5 games. Robo Recall on it's own justifies the package, in my opinion. Full scale PC VR is something you have to experience. The tutorial you go though when you first set up the Rift was one of the most amazing gaming experiences I have ever had. You need a decent bit of space to set up the sensors if you want to play room-scale games, so keep that in mind. You can get by pretty well with the two included sensors, but adding a third will make the experience better.

The Oculus rift has been out for awhile now. I managed to purchase this right before the Rift S and the Oculus Quest were announced. As a result I have to say, I'm glad I got it when I did. Info hear great things about the new Rift model, and not having sensors would be great. But overall my experience with the original consumer Rift has been awesome. I only have two sensors set up diagonally from one another. One sensor is higher than the other in my room. As a result I am able to get I'd say 98% perfect tracking. There are some hiccups here and there but that's a small price to pay for only using the two sensors out if the box. That being said setup was easy, I did use a USB extension cord for my one sensor for it to reach the other side of the room. But other than that it was plug and play after installing the Oculus software. As for the experience. I have tried the original HTC Vive, the Lenovo Windows Mixed Reality headset, and finally the Rift. Out of all the devices I do truly enjoy the rift the most. The Vive wands feel great and sturdy and was my entry to VR from a friend. However I didn't have the money at the time and went for the Lenovo WMR headset. It was great, it had both a trackpad and thumbstick. I could map the controls with steam as needed, and play the VR games I wanted. But the issue there was the tracking. The WMR headsets lose tracking when the controllers are too close to your face or away from the cameras. That brings me to the rift. This headset was on sale for $350 and I knew it was time to jump on it. And boy was I glad that I did. The headset felt super comfortable when I put it on, and the screen felt on par with the Vive. The touch controllers were amazing to my hands. They have their pros and cons when compared to the Vive wands, but that can be said for the Vive wands as well. Overall playing some fast games like Beat Saber, or Gorn. The controllers keep up greatly. Games like Pavlov and H3VR are super easy to use with the Oculus. If you're willing to do a little tinkering for setup and a little research on how to do it properly. Out of the box setup for 360 degree tracking should work with the two sensors no problem. I recommend a program from the Oculus store called "Sensor Bounds" it allows you to see where your sensors are located and where their field of view is. It is a super helpful tool for fine tuning your setup. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase, and maybe someday I'll pickup the Rift S. But as it stands, my original rift is just what I wanted and needed in VR b
