Customers love the OMEN by HP 24.5" LED FHD Monitor's refresh rate and picture quality, frequently praising its vibrant colors and excellent performance for gaming. Many appreciate the monitor's value for its price point, although some found the stand somewhat less than ideal. A few customers wished for built-in speakers and height adjustment capabilities. Overall, the positive feedback on picture quality and performance outweighs the minor criticisms.

This monitor is not only perfect for gaming but has very accurate colors and displays perfectly. Amazing price packed with a lot of features, 2 HDMI ports and 144 refresh rate. The only down side is it doesn't have built in speakers but it does have a headphone jack.

If you want to game at highest refresh rate with no screen tearing then this is the monitor for you. Picture quality is awesome as the monitor has a lot of customization to adjust quality. Would of gave it 5 stars if it came in 25 inches instead of 24.5.

I wanted to get a 144Hz monitor for gaming. This is the 3rd monitor for my pc. WOW! What a difference. It is really noticeable next to the other two 60Hz monitors. The white is really crisp. The blacks aren't that deep but, it was to be expected. I did wish the stand had more range of motion, but I was able to get it how I need it. I cannot use the headphone hanger because I have a hutch style desk. For the price, I feel it was a great purchase.

Monitor is the perfect size not too small and too big. Good if you have a small desk space to work with. The picture is very clear no freezing or lagging while watching videos nor playing games like Dragon Age or Overwatch

Appalling driver support and awful factory color calibration is what sets this monitor back. It's a good panel, and after countless hours of manual calibration you can make it look great. But the awful FreeSync driver support gave me an absolute headache. The 144hz mode is not stable at all, which shouldn't be surprising at all since the box itself says that the recommended mode is 1080p@60hz. Why advertise it as a 144hz monitor then?
After weeks of tinkering I finally got it to work the way I want. I'm not going to lie, it's a good looking panel and I'm happy with it. Even though I won't be returning it, the "out of the box" experience was a huge hassle and I definitely won't be recommending this to my friends. You're a little better off spending some more money on better quality control tested hardware.
For now, I think an average rating is deserved. Who knows, maybe in the future I might change my mind.

I was very iffy when I first bought this monitor because of its price, but honestly it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made by far at Best Buy. The resolution is great and the 1 millisecond response time really comes in handy when I game. Great monitor overall 10/10

An excellent monitor built for gaming

This monitor will easily suit those looking to pair a low-latency monitor to their gaming rig. This monitor has an excellent response time (1ms!). Not only does it allow those playing games superb reaction times, it's picture looks excellent while doing so. I imagine some may be turned away by the 1080p resolution, but at this monitor's size, images look very sharp. I imagine anything higher would be a waste, unless it was a larger size. There also seems to be a great anti-glare coating. I have yet to experience any glares that impede it's visibility. They also have some smart design features, including a place to rest your headphones (directly behind the screen itself). A bracket for wall-mounting is also included. Along with those features, it also has USB 3.0 inputs, 2 HDMI and a DisplayPort. This all on top of a great-looking design. There's a slick OMEN text logo on the front and back. The back also has the OMEN graphic logo in metallic red. All look very nice, not distracting, and compliment the monitor.
If you're looking for a high-performance monitor, look no further. If I could ask any more from the monitor, it would be that it had built-in speakers. This is pretty much a non-issue, since most monitors don't. It just does everything else so well.
Pros: Excellent performance, great color, anti-glare, inputs, design
Cons: No speakers (see above)

Out of the box this monitor only allowed 1920x1080 60Hz, after downloading the HP my display application did it allow 120Hz and 144Hz BUT in 144Hz mode it frameskips making that mode unusable. Another major problem with this monitor is it's stand is very flimsy regular mouse movement causes the display to shake

Great Budget Gaming Upgrade

I have an HP Omen desktop that I use for Steam gaming and a Mac mini for my daily driver desktop at home. The monitor I had before was an older Asus 21.5 monitor - nothing wrong with it, but noticed image quality issues when trying to play games like Doom 4 or Lords of Shadow 2. I know my Asus monitor wasn't built for gaming, so I didn't mind. I had my eye on the HP Omen 32" monitor - but when I measured my desk space, it would've eaten up almost all of my desk. So I was pretty happy to see that HP had a smaller 25" option available at a better entry price point.
I was also excited to see that the monitor supported dual HDMI and a DisplayPort connection - now I could connect both my Mac mini and work laptop to HDMI and use the DisplayPort for my Omen desktop to take advantage of the 144Hz refresh rate. If you're like me, and your wife is always telling you to turn down the sound because you'll wake the kiddos - you'll be happy to know there's an aux audio output jack on the side of the monitor for easy access to connect your headphones.
Setting up the monitor was a piece of cake - my only gripe is you have the nice big screen that connects to the base with a single connection in the middle of the back - and it's a vertical connection, so the monitor easily rocks from side to side if nudged. I don't make a habit of hitting my monitor, so it wasn't really an issue, but my older Asus had a more secure connection between the monitor and the base. The monitor also comes with a cable management bracket for the back to keep the cord clutter to a minimum - not ground breaking or anything, but certainly a nice addition.
Once I had it up and running, I noticed I had to do some slight tweaking to the color, contrast, etc to get it just right for the lighting and layout around my desk. The Omen desktop popped and colors looked so much more vibrant and the higher refresh rate meant I could mow down demons without worrying about image ghosting or frame rate issues. The Mac mini on the other hand was noticeably more challenging to get right. I was expecting some slight tweaking between the two, but it almost seems that Windows 10 seems to adjust to the monitor better than OS X - and I didn't even use the software that HP includes. You might want to install it if you want to customize your monitor further. I'm the type that will install additional software as a last resort.
The monitor also supports auto-wake based on input. If I start tapping on my Mac keyboard, OS X pops up on the screen - and vice versa with Windows 10. If you're in the market for a decent monitor to handle some gaming without breaking the bank and you don't want a behemoth screen, then you should check this out. I've been really happy with it so far, that I'm contemplating getting another one to set up a dual screen situation for gaming.

Excellent Monitor for Gaming

This HP monitor (with it's 1ms response time / 144Hz refresh rate) was designed with gamers in mind so that was the first thing I did to put it through its paces. All games I tried out played beautifully, and they looked better than they do on my 55" 4k TV.
Another thing this monitor has going for it is the available ports. Not only do you get the DisplayPort input that most people use for their PC gaming needs, but there are also 2 HDMI ports. Very few monitors come with 2 HDMI ports in this price range which is a nice luxury.
While this monitor is not 4k, I wouldn't worry about that as the human eye can only really appreciate 4k resolution on displays that are closer to 60 inches.
Lastly, I appreciate that this is an anti-glare screen. One of my pet peeves is reflections in various light conditions and this feature helped out a lot.
This is an excellent monitor for gamers and should be considered by anyone in the market for a new one. While it will also serve you well for other purposes, gaming is where it really shines.

Although just 1080p, the 144Hz is amazing. The specs are great for the price and go nicely with the HP Omen series desktop as well. The screen is very nice, and if you're not too peculiar about having the best monitor specs possible, this is a great screen at a great price.

Excellent Gaming Monitor with 144Hz Refresh

The HP Omen 25 is an excellent monitor and while it is designed with the gamer in mind the monitors refresh rate will be appreciated by non-gamers also. The monitor provides 1900x1200 resolution with 144Hz refresh, more than double the 30Hz or 60Hz that is typical on most PC monitors. HP provides two HDMI ports as well as a DisplayPort for connecting the monitor to your PC. I'm personally using the DisplayPort connection and as you can see in the screenshot, this is able to drive the display with the maximum 144Hz refresh rate. The only disappointing aspect of the design is the placement of the control buttons on the rear of the display. While they were likely going for a very clean look it's a little frustrating those buttons are not on the front of the display or at least on one side.

HP Omen monitor looks so good with my HP Omen Desktop. The design and style is great and excellent monitor for gaming as it features with 1ms response time and 144Hz refresh rate.
It comes with 1080p resolution, 2 HDMI Ports, Display Port and USB 3.0 Ports. It has a headphone jack that can be used to connect to gaming headphones, or speakers. The picture is very clear and bright. Thanks to 144Hz refresh rate. It has headphone holder which is really cool design. All HDMI, Display Port and USB cables were provided in the box.
The performance and features of this monitor are awesome. However there are few design issues. There is no way to adjust the height of the monitor and viewing is not great from bottom and sides. If you are planning to mount in a wall, it may not provide good viewing experience.
If you are looking cost effective solid widescreen with 1080p resolution, this could be the monitor for you.

Great 1080p 144hz monitor

This monitor caught my eye being an Hp monitor for gaming, but not being too expensive.
Basically, if you don’t mind running at 1080p with a 1ms refresh at 144hz, this is totally for you!
It doesn’t work your videocard as hard as 1440p or 4K, but still plays 1080p like a champ.
Its light, has an hdmi port, USB port, speaker/ headphone out out and a display port.
If you want to get 144hz, use the display port and supplied cable.
The biggest weakness I see with this unit is the base is a tiny bit wobbly.
It does have a tilt feature which makes up for it though.
Its not going to tip over, I just noticed that bumping the table it’s on made it shake noticeably.
Not a deal breaker.
Performance is outstanding with great colors, solid brightness with no dead pixels.
Bezel isn’t super thin, but it’s not leaking light on the edges, so it looks great.
Controls are decent, allowing for plenty of fine tuning.
One of the best 1080p displays you can get.
:-)
Im considering a 2nd one!
Very happy!

Great Monitor W/ Some Major Problems

TL;DR:
Pros:
- Amazing aesthetics. Looks cool.
- Great picture and color.
- 144hz
- 1ms response time
- Headset stand.
Cons:
- Wobbly.
- Sub par mechanical design.
- Potential frame skipping.
- Not vesa mountable.
- Stand isn't adjustable (other than tilting).
This is a great monitor... with some serious issues. The size and weight are fantastic and the aesthetics are stellar. Everything feels and looks great but the issues start pretty much right out if the box.
The stand the monitor attaches to is NOT height adjustable and only allows for a few degrees of tilting. The monitor naturally sits a bit low so you'll likely find yourself needing a monitor stand at some point just so the screen is level. Even if you did, the way the monitor is connected to the stand unfortunately means it has an immense amount of wobble. The monitor feels as though it's being balanced on a fulcrum at all times. However, if you have a sturdy desk, this is not going to be a huge issue for you.
"That's okay." You think. "I'll just use a vesa mount instead of the stand." No you won't, sadly, because the monitor does not support universal mounting. At least, not without a specific adapter or converter. Even then, you'll still run into the wobbling issue as it's simply a flaw in the way it's designed.
My unit has developed frame skipping when running at 144hz. It's not a huge deal as my PC is only strong enough to run a select few games at greater than 100fps but if you're looking for a reliable 144hz monitor, you're better off trying something else. Apparently this is a common problem with this unit so, buyer beware.
It's all very unfortunate as the monitor itself, the screen, is fantastic. Colors look great and required no calibration out of the box from me. I've spent a lot of hours gaming and watching YouTube and thus far it has served me well. However, I will never stop regretting having gone with a more versatile monitor.
