This is one of my favorite movies and so love the music! Enjoy watching the DVD portion about making of the movie.

For anyone who has seen "Once," they know that the movie is a wonderful little gem of film. If you haven't, the story is simple -- a man and a woman meet; had it been a few years earlier or a few years later, they might be a couple, but right now they are 2 souls in Dublin hurting, one more than the other, and joined by their love and skill in music. They are friends, they make an album, and life moves on. If you haven't seen the movie, go see it, and maybe even buy it. The soundtrack contains all the original songs the actors created for the movie, and they are just perfect, from power pop ballads about betrayal to more synth-like siren calls of love. My only warning -- when I bought this I thought I was getting the soundtrack and the DVD of the movie --- the DVD here is a "making of" DVD -- it's OK, just not what I was expecting. Still, worth the purchase.

This movie won many accolades at the Sundance Film Festival and is now nominated for an academy award! The soundtrack is just as good; Hansard and Irglova are absolutely magical together, also check out "The Cost" by the Frames, and "The Swell Season". Music the way it was meant to be played!
