A lot more features than I had in my previous Onkyo. I especially find it easier to play a music track along with a DVD of pictures I have created, than buying special software to accomplish the same task. Also, it has a built in pre-amp for my older turntable which makes it less cluttered in my electronics cabinet.

Simple and straightforward, this is a great and easy to use Receiver/Amplifier. The power is sufficient for our church to use in our 250 person auditorium with settings perfect for our microphones, CD and Blu-ray, and computers. A great workhorse at the fraction of the price.

I have been more than happy with my purchase of this receiver. I replaced an older Pinoeer receiver and finally have got a comprehensive solution to streaming and integrating all of my AV products. And I can control the whole thing from my iPad and/or iPhone. Set up was a breeze and the sound is awesome!

Older Yamaha 673 died, but I had never been happy with it. replaced with Onkyo 646. ran it through the initial set up, and it sounded amazing. I didn't realize what I was missing. returned it when audio started cutting in/out periodically (and then video). BB rep recommended Pioneer unit. Pioneer sounded just like the Yamaha. Loud, but no separation at all, so another trip to the store and picked up another 646, which sounded just as good as the first one. However, sound started doing the same thing. Have traced it down to what I believe is the Onkyo being very sensitive to the signal coming from HDMI port from Charter. can make 95% of the problems go away by periodically rebooting the DVR. Yet, still have an issue with Audio dropping when changing channels, or coming out of Fast forward, where it's silent until I rewind a few seconds and start again. Sound is so good compared to the Yamaha and Pioneer, I'll keep it and just deal with the random audio fadeouts.

    Onkyo has done it again!

Once again, Onkyo has come through with another successful product. I bought this after realizing I wouldn't be able to stream in 4K from my PS4 to my new 4K Samsung TV using my receiver until I first upgraded my receiver to being 4K compatible as well. I bought this while it was on sale (actually my wife bought it for my birthday present), but nonetheless it has made a great addition to our home entertainment system. I currently have been a proud Onkyo user with a 5.1 Surround Sound System for about 3 years. I lived in an apartment and haven't had the need for anything bigger. I now have a bigger place and this receiver paired with new Onkyo tower speakers and an Onkyo Powered Sub making for use of 7.1 Surround Sound proved a major difference. The sound quality is excelent and I am very pleased with the video quality as well. I currently use an Xbone, a PS4, and an Nvidia Shield connected to this receiver connected to my 4K Samsung TV for the ultimate gaming and streaming experience.

The main reason for buying this Onkyo receiver is for the full line of features which is ready for 4k ultra movies. It has the power to drive my large speakers. It is easy to use with the well laid out remote. I have owned four other Onkyo receivers with one still running strong at 18 years.

I wanted a receiver with phono inputs and this one was on sale. It's a good receiver. The buttons on the front are hard to see and it's pretty complicated but once you get it figured out it does what it's supposed to do very nicely. Most new receivers are complicated and have setups that are difficult to muddle through. The eq settings etc can be overwhelming when all you really want to do is listen to an album...

I will preface this by saying that I may have had a bad unit, but I found that I had some random audio loss and dropouts with this receiver, and I had it via both HDMI from an Xbox One and via optical from a 4k TV. I had heard similar reviews about these issues, but I decided to give the receiver a try anyway, with no luck. I also became increasing frustrated with the 2-3 second delay in getting sound of it after it had been idle for about 10 seconds. I returned it for the VSX-90 and have not had those issues with that receiver under identical conditions. Even though Onkyo now owns the Pioneer Elite line, they are clearly not using the same hardware in my opinion. The addition of DTS.X capability doesn't make up for the shortcomings in this unit.

Bought this receiver to replace a 10 year old Sony one. Sounds great. The set up and microphone let me know I had a speaker out, fixed the problem. Now I just need to read the manual so I can watch tv without it being on. I don't need my news to be in surroundi sound.

My last Onkyo lasted me 9 years. This is a 4K upgrade. It was very simple to hook up and to set-up. The remote is much more condensed than my last Onkyo but I really like it. Great sound quality. It has lots of features so I'm slowly learning everything it does. So far, Love It.
