Bought the receiver to replace an older Onkyo DS575. Easy to setup and configure. Only issue is the HDMI pass-thru sometimes doesn't work when the receiver is on standby. I have to turn the receiver on and off for the pass-thru to work when that happens. The receiver has many inputs and nice features.

Works well. App is very nice and easy to use. Only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars would be the internal hdmi splitter does NOT strip hdcp signal. Therefore you can not split video signal to multiple monitors without screen flashing. You have to unplug main hdmi source or get an additional splitter.

I got this to allow me to play zone 2 music from my iPhone. Works as designed. I can do airplay or connect from bluetooth to zone 2. That ability is usually only found on higher end models. Also, my third Onkyo receiver. Always great quality and sound.

I upgraded to this system from an older Onkyo system and to my surprise the sound effects are just awesome! It sounds like I'm in a theater when I'm listening to this sound system! I love it and would tell anyone to invest in this product!

This is good Onkyo reveiver,everything about this reveiver works great,except subwoofers output don't have that much bass,it is good for watching movies not for listening music althought I max out my sub and in receiver also,my own opinion. Anyone out there knows how to make it better?.

Works just like it should and a joy to not have to deal with updates. Only problem I am having is that the cable selection occasionally breaks down. Can fix it with re-selecting cable or turning off the power then back on. Still trying to figure out if it is the unit or the connection.

I was looking to replace my broken receiver and this one does the job. Plus, it's 4K ready so whenever I'm ready to upgrade to a new TV I can get a 4K TV. Setup is pretty easy and it offers a variety of configurations. Can't go wrong with this product.

I cannot say enough for this A/V receiver by Onkyo. For the price, I felt like I stole it. It encodes Dolby Atmos, DTS-X, has 4K UHD and HDR support. Plus the 7.2 channels runs all my speakers in my home theatre with enough juice to spare.

Bought a 65" OLED 4K and needed an upgrade to a Receiver with 4K Pass Thru!!! Really loved my last Onkyo…so I replaced one Onkyo with another!!! Went from a 7.1 to a 7.2 to Futureproof it!!! Will keep buying Onkyo's till they disappoint me!!!

The only thing that bothers me is, through power cycles, it doesn't retain center channel and bass settings. If you set center channel or bass settings to something other than zero, the receiver resets the values back to zero every time you power off the receiver. It's annoying.

Onkyo TX-NR656 is a great receiver. Plenty of HDMI inputs, including the front. Auto firmware upgrade to ensure your receiver is up-to-date. Network radio and MP3 support including bluetooth and AirPlay. Great value for the money.

The only reason I did not give it a 5 is because there was no information on the box or from the tech that told me I would need a powered subwoofer with this. My speaker was not powered so I had to buy a new one. It gives a great pass through picture and sounds phenominal!

I'm very satisfied with this AV receiver. I'm using it with a 5.2 channel sound configuration. The included sound balancing microphone made balancing the speakers simple. The second zone works well for playing audio in another room.

I needed a new receiver for my record player. computer, CD/Tape player. This satisfiedth need, and then some. I don't have it hooked up to my TV. but is way more than capable/. Serious output for my speakers. Well worth every dime

This by far is the best purchase we have made yet!!! Onkyo has always been good to me and this is my 2nd purchase of on in 20 years. Great choice for a small home with a surround sound system and having BB setup was the best!!!

I had the previous version of this receiver and thought I might try a Denon or Pioneer this time but my research led me back to this receiver and I'm glad I went with it. I'm very pleased with it's performance so far. Love it.

Unit 1: thermal error returned Unit 2: unable to see video output on my HdTV returned Unit 3: was able to setup worked fine but after 1 week, no video out from main port to HDMI. Onkyo has worst support of all times. You call nunver listed on their website, god help you if that can connect. I tried dialling RZ series support number, they gave me a different number and that also kept ringing. Tried to send couple of emails to help but no response. This is amazing config which I really want but this kind of experience, dont think I can recommend to anyone..

I bought this to replace my standard Sony 5.1 receiver as I wanted a multi-room receiver to run my outdoor speakers and indoor surround sound. Really surprised at how easy the setup process for the receiver was.

I replaced a Demon 7.2 unit with this one due to 4K compatibility, which this resolved. I was also happily suprised to discover that when you use bluetooth audio it comes through all the speakers unlike my old Demon unit.
