Great, however ...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded to this from another Roku receiver in order to support my 4K TV. Unfortunately, though, I realized that it was the culprit in many issues I was having with my Roku Ultra and Sony X900E when trying to play 4K HDR content (4:2:0 or 4:2:2, 30hz or 60hz). I now have to plug the Roku into the TV directly, then use ARC or optical-audio (SPDIF) from the TV to the Onkyo. Not ideal.

Great For 7 Months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After seven months of smooth operation and great quality sound, this product finally failed on me. Two weeks ago, the unit suddenly stopped producing audio, went into "AMP DIAG" mode, and produced a “NG” error code. After consulting with the manual, I immediately turned it off and unplugged it. I’ve tried to contact Onkyo’s Priority Customer Care, but you’re asked to call the Warranty Office. Once you call the New Jersey number, you don’t actually get the Warranty Office, it’s just another voice recording redirecting you back to Onkyo’s Support website … so frustrating. Anyways, to make a long story short, I now have to spend $30 to $35 to ship the unit to Wood Dale, IL or Roseville, MI to have the A/V receiver serviced. Are you kidding me? Shipping should be provided by Onkyo. I’m so disappointed with this specific item. It could be a month or two before I even get it back, and who knows what kind of issues I’ll have with it then.

Lasted Two Days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First the good. I've always liked the sound Onkyo receivers put out and this was no reception. I liked that the streaming services were built in without the need for a cell phone or tablet. Lastly, I got it at a fire sale price. The good news ends there, however. First off it wouldn't play nice with my other equipment and especially my TV. HDMI glitches galore especially with the Audio Return Channel. That was the first day. On the second day it started shutting itself off continuously. Back it went. Replaced with a Denon. No more problems.

Frustrating....buyer beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this receiver 1 year ago. About 3 months after is when the problems arose. It used to power on just fine. However, now it will not. It turns on literally for 2-3 seconds and then turns off. If I unplug it for a day or longer, it will turn on. And, if the volume is above 44, it will turn off right in the middle of whatever you're watching. Reviews said it worked great. But simply Google "Oknyo receiver won't turn on" and you'll see the frustration shared by me. For $500 you think they would recall it. Nope. Ridiculous...Buyer Beware!
