I had an old Sony receiver for 20 years, and when it fried out, I wasn't quite sure which route to go. I settled on this one for using my record player. It sounds great and the Bluetooth feature is nice to have while sitting around the house. Navigating the menu through the remote wasn't as easy as the manual makes it seem.

This receiver/ surround system powers up my speaker system, which is 8 speakers. 2 of which are piggybacked on another set of speakers.Although there is only 1 set of speaker hook up , I use that to run my wire blocks which is where I connect the rest of speakers , and it still puts out an awesome sound and clarity

This is a great receiver. Tons of features and 4k compliant. Only complaint I have is that they skimped on the speaker wire hookups. Some of them are the screw in type instead of snap downs. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. It was by far the lowest price compared to any other receiver with the same features.

This is my second Onkyo receiver. I had so much success with my first purchase that I was quite willing to purchase another Onkyo receiver when I caught this one on sale. For my convenience I wish that I could find another Onkyo receiver on sale with seven HDMI outlets. This Onkyo receiver is easy to operate and manage.

I replaced an older receiver with this. I does everything that I expected it to do. I really like the functions on the remote which simplify use. I use it for surround sound for movies and stereo for TV viewing. I have had this for about 2 years a am very satisfied.

I was looking for an entry-level audio receiver after my previous all-in-one home theater system finally failed after 10+ years. I currently have this receiver paired with Klipsch bookshelf speakers and a Polk subwoofer. I am very pleased with the sound, it is a huge step up from my previous system.

This was my first time purchasing anything from the Onkyo company and I was a little nervous. After researching online, I decided to give them a try and I'm happy I did. This unit is their "beginner" receiver, and while I'm not a novice, I wasn't anxious to spend $300 or more on a new receiver, so I jumped in with this model. What I really liked about this unit is the "4k pass through", which allows me to watch my new 4k tv with or without turning on the unit, and the 4 HDMI inputs. It has Bluetooth streaming, which I don't use all that often, but is still a necessary addition these days. There are some sacrifices though. It's very difficult to adjust the individual speakers volume. You basically have to set up the speaker auto-detect feature and then manually override the speaker volume from that menu. Big pain. Also there are very limited instructions, even with the online manual. Lots of searching and trial and error. Even with those annoyances, it's hard to beat this receiver for under $200. (on sale)

I purchased this receiver for my home entertainment center. Everything hooked up to it with ease. The remote is very easy to work. It does everything I needed it to do. I have a TV, blue ray player and DirecTv box hooked up to it. I am planning on purchasing another one for my man cave.

I purchased this product to replace an ancient stereo system I had rigged up to my TV. This receiver not only simplified my setup but made it sound fantastic! I had never had surround sound before. But now that I do I would recommend this Onkyo receiver to anyone. Its also priced great.

I have friends with similar Onkyo receivers. They loved them. I got this one for a great deal. It has no picture lag, and sounds amazing. The auto set-up mic is so-so. Manually entering in your speakers distance from where you sit is simple enough. Everything is simple to use and setup.

Have had no problems what so ever. Love that everything is connected to this receiver.

I got this to replace an older non HDMI Onkyo receiver for my new 4K TV. It is a solid unit without too many frills. If you are still satisfied with your 5.1 audio system but want HDMI this is a good choice. If you want lots of inputs or a bigger surround system keep looking.

I have my tv, Roku stick and computer as inputs and can switch at the push of a button.

It functions how it is described. As a gift, my dad is very happy with the product.

Bought this receiver after my older one went out. I purchased it after reading a few reviews and speaking with a Best Buy associate. This is was a great upgrade and worth the money. Many features and great quality.

Clear quality sound with decent head room through polk speakers. 4 stars only because there is no eq. Only treble and bass which don't seem to do much. Blue tooth works with phone but wont find my lap top. Good deal for basic home theatre and it's nice and loud not harsh.

The reproduction is great and it has no trouble driving my speakers. My problem is that there is no advanced manual provided or available from Onkyo online. That means no instructions for actually using the features. There also doesn't seem to be a way to balance the speakers other than using the automatic setup and provided microphone. The result in my case is that often the sound level of the surround speakers drowns out the center and front speakers and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it other than moving the surround speakers. I've "chatted" with Onkyo about the lack of a complete manual and, incredibly, they recommended the manual for a different model that had a completely different remote (so it doesn't actually tell me anything useful).

I never had an Onkyo product before but I have to say I’m happy with my purchase.

This is a good system, the only problem is that the sub woofer is a little week.

I've been dealing with a outdated receiver for awhile now and this new onkyo is amazing it makes everything so easy to switch back and forth thru with the ps4 and satellite and Bluetoothing my phone to it just to listen to music is so easy great buy for the buck
