I bought this model after my Sony theater system of 10 years gave up the ghost. I compared more modern " package" replacements but found them to quite limiting. So I compared the features of a receiver based system and found that was the way to invest in a home system. ONKYO seems to have a solid reputation in audio reproduction. So far I'm impressed with the features and set up of the unit although I'm unsure as to the quality of the music reproduction vs theater encoding. Love the mobile remote/controller app, WiFi ability , and Bluetooth streaming features. I would like to see the quality of-a-watt factor stand out more as a selling point from the manufacture vs.the gross amount of wattage. A lot to ask for in this segment of the market though.....

This is a great receiver, was enough to power my outdoor speakers (30ft away) and my 5.1 setup in the house. Easy to connect.

This is a very nice system for the price. You can plug all your components into it. HDCP 2.2 compliant. Very good sound. Decent power.

I bought this as a open box item as my old Sony had a power surge. It does a better job with the surround sound than my old one but I've had a couple of problems. First I have DIRECTV and the remote won't get the correct code to function properly. Also I bought a new Samsung UHD 8000 series tv recently and the receiver won't work on the hcr compatibility channel. This means it won't talk to the tv and so when I watch Netflix I lose the surround sound and have to listen to the tv speakers. I called technical support but they were unable to fix the problem. That's why just 3 stars

Fantastic system upgraded my Yamaha and I must say this system is much better. Great sound, easy to setup and operate.

This is a great receiver. I have it set up with a 6 channel switch running speakers to multiple rooms in the house. I am able to use the app and select the source and control the master volume from the phone. Overall I would buy the receiver again, I had to restart the receiver on multiple times due to problems using the app. Once the system restart the problem has been fixed. After 2 years the system is still running solid.

With this receiver I have the capability to expand my system without upgrading. The sound is excellent and operation ease is appreciated. Very good receiver, with quality construction.

Good for streaming music and watching videos. My Klipsch bookshelf speakers and sub have never sounded better.

I purchased a 7.1 Onkyo receiver about 5 years ago and I loved it! It sounded great and was very versatile. So now that I'm upgrading my setup I decided to go with Onkyo again and was not disappointed. The amount of different items you can plug in at once is ridiculous in the best way possible. The new network feature is also a lot more useful than I imagined it would be too.

Great receiver that up converts all input types to HDMI. Easy setup with included mic to calibrate speakers.

It was pretty easy to connect the 4 speakers, turntable, CD player & tape deck. Saving channels on the radio was easy and you toggle between FM and AM settings. Once you assign a number to the station, click the number and the system switches to the channel and changes the band at the same time! You have to connect the TV to the receiver in order to do the initial set up and to have the system synch the surround sound speakers. Very pleased with it.

Bought for my son. Perfect for his apartment. Easy to install and hook ups. Has plenty of power and options.

This receiver cranks and has Bluetooth which I have been wanting. Sounds great with my turntable also.

Great system sounds really good. It was really easy to set up. Very easy to make adjustments to sound.

Replaced a 6 year old Yamaha 5.1 receiver. the sound quality improvement was amazing. this thing has a great processor in it; my 5.1 surround channels woke up, using same speakers between the 2. Can now vividly hear environmental sound in movies. Only downside is this only accepts 480i or 572i composite in, which sucks cause there are 1080 and 720 devices in my setup.

I loved the surround sound and the automatic speaker adjustments, but am returning it in favor of a Denon that has only one row of speaker connections. The speaker connections stacked on top of each other in the back of the Onkyo were just too difficult for me to connect my 7 speakers. It is otherwise a nice receiver, and I truly intended to replace my outdated Onkyo with a this more modern Onkyo receiver. The other downer was no HDMI or usb connection in the front, again, forcing me to pull the receiver out of the entertainment center to make a connection. This isn't Onkyo's fault, it was just poor planning on my part.

I've always bought Onkyo receivers. Good quality and last for years. I like the 6 hdmi. Good sound

I actually bought this just to run my outside speakers. Works well. Overkill for sure but I need two zones and wifi / bluetooth so it more than gets the job done. Price was not bad either.
