Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the sound quality, ease of use, and Bluetooth connectivity of the TX 7.2-Ch. Hi-Res Network-Ready 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's powerful performance and the extensive features it offers at its price point. I figured I would update my home receiver and came across this one. It is a great value and has tons of features. The adjustable speaker settings really helped make me older speakers sound better.

Very nice quality budget home theater amplifier. I have it hooked up to some Elac Uni-Fi UB5s, and it drives them very well. I use Elac satellite speakers for the surrounds, and this is a nice sounding unit. This is a relatively inexpensive and good quality amplifier that offers good music streaming capabilities, too. The only disappointment is that it doesn't support Amazon HD internally, as Amazon upgraded to HD music after this unit was released for sale. If you can find one for a good price, you won't be disappointed.

I did a lot of research before I decided on this receiver. I can say I am very pleased. It has the power to push my speakers so I get the best sound. I really enjoy watching football. You can feel the action.

I purchased this to have surround sound for my apartment. But new to the concept I didn't do my research on receivers. Don't have surround speakers just a sound bar and old rca connection speakers. Took me awhile of trial and error to find a way to have my sound bars pass through my receiver. The many hmdi ports is great. With the many different things out now. 4k bluray, gaming systems, cable, and firestick most tv have only one or two ports. Vizio is the one of fee the has 3 or more ports. The pass through is good. Works even when Onkyo is not on. Have my Onkyo connected through Alexa and Logitech and my other devices. Almost feel like Tony Stark

Takes input from all my components and passes to TV centralizing the control. Really drives my Bose speakers and sound is crystal clear. Plenty of power for a large room. Very happy with the upgrade.

Out of other similar options from Denon and Yamaha, I went with this. My priorities we're 4K HDR pass through, at least 6 HDMI ports, 7.2 speaker system. Unit worked flawlessly for 2 weeks, recently I noticed it switched off on it's own while I was watching something. I felt it was due to heat issue but I have plenty of ventilation to the unit and it wasn't even that warm when it switched off. I have to now check with Onkyo support. I would recommend this but with caution.

I love the frequency response, plenty of watts, and the clean sound do much, we ordered another for a second floor in our home. It works great in a 2.1 setup: 2 Bose 301s and a 400w Klipsch sub.

Works great. 4K on it sounds amazing. I’m running fluance elites and a Bic America 12 inch sub. I had a Denon before that just stopped working out of nowhere. This is a better receiver.

I Purchased this receiver as a replacement to my previous Onkyo 10 year old receiver that developed a glitch. After trying wireless sound bars and various other sound systems, I decided to go back to what I knew worked best. Very happy with this purchase and the results and performance it provides. Even a better deal at the Black Friday price. We have it connected to our Polk Audio front and rear towers, center channel, and subwoofer . Plenty of power for our home theater. We also like that it has a phono input as there are still some vinyl lps in our house. We love having zone 2 for our back porch speakers. This is our first receiver with 2 zones and it’s nice being able to listen to music on the porch while the great room has a game or movie playing.

The receiver worked for me. It was easy to set-up. I had this connected to ELAC F6 speakers. Volume seems to be on the low side. Interfacing with TV is good (turns off when you turn off the TV).

This is actually the 2nd Onkyo TX 7.2 system purchased. The first one was about 2 years ago, Of which I am very happy with its performance. So much so, that I purchased one as a Christmas gift for my Daughter. The system was easy to set up and hone in the speakers. There are several features we haven't used yet, which changes as we add more to the system. My Daughter is also happy with her new system. I would recommend this product.

If you are looking for essentially a good worth for your money this is the receiver to buy currently in 2018. My favorite part is the Wi-Fi capability to just connect and stream music to the home theater or the second zone which I wired outside for backyard ambient music/sounds. The setup was easy, just time consuming if you are picky about your wire management. I connected it to my Sansui and technic towers. I have an amp powering two JBL subs with another Onkyo rear reference sub as well. My center and rear channels are Onkyo and with the calibration, you can balance the channel volume to your preference. Overall I am very satisfied with this receiver.

I am a self proclaimed audiophile in the car audio world which has some relevance to home theatre and general understanding of proper sound and acoustics. This AVR at this particular price point is an excellent machine. It does everything an entry level unit should and it does so very well. There is no doubt that the unit is at the top of the entry level AVRs. I have no complaints and it does run my BIC Acoustech 5.1 system extremely well. You just have to turn it up to 80% to really impress your friends.
