This receiver is fantastic. It comes with multiple ew softwares, dirac and accueq. The dirac is somewhat clumsy when used on mobile. It disconnected several times until I could finally get it to work. But the receiver itself sounds fantastic. And especially at the sell price of 1200 bucks. If you pair this with a $300 amp, I think you have a excellent 7.2.4 system. That's at a cheaper price than anything on the market currently

Very happy with all aspects of this receiver. Replaced an older Denon. The Onkyo sounds MUCH better. Dirac puts Audyssey to shame.

Great sounding receiver with virtually any functionality available these days. I use is mostly for music listening with a pair of high quality speakers. Easily drives the speakers and generate great sound.

This claims to be a 9.2 channel receiver, but it seems to me that some of the channels are piggybacked off of others. I am also not experiencing a lot of difference between all the different sound and effect modes. My prior Yamaha 7.1 and my Denon 7.1 in the theater room used to give me sensational sound. For instance, on "stadium" or "sports" mode you felt like you were right there surrounded by the sounds of the fans, while the announcers and field action was up front. Now, not really.

This is an excellent A/V receiver. We are using it in 7.1.4 mode with an external Amp to drive the two extra speakers. Sounds and works perfect! Very versatile and highly recommended value for the price.

I was surprised when I saw this receiver finally available to purchase at Best Buy. I had been searching many different websites for about a year for the opportunity to acquire this. I replaced my Yamaha Rx-A1070 and couldn't be more pleased with the sound quality, built and overall design. I hope to enjoy this receiver for many years to come.

Purchased this to replace a Pioneer that lost the HDMI board. Couldn’t be happier! It has all the features the older Pioneer didn’t have.

Onkyo TX RZ250 makes my speakers sound much better

This receiver makes my speakers sound so much better whether listening to surround sound or music. It has dramatically improved the sound in pure audio (2 channel) music mode. I had a 12 year old Yamaha Advantage previously which was much more complex but did not sound nearly as good..

Decent Product + Bad Service = Bad Product

I’ve been pretty pleased with my RZ50 so far, with audio quality that exceeded anything I had used before, but after only a few short months of owning the product, it developed the apparently common Onkyo/Pioneer HDMI blackout issue. Onkyo support expects customers to pay non-refundable shipping to one of a small number of authorized service centers to warranty their commonly defective products, only to have them commonly fail again. Hopefully Onkyo can fix their poor service some day, but luckily other brands have released new products that brought competition back to the $1500-ish AVR market, so hopefully I won’t have any reason to talk to Onkyo again, not owning any of their products. Hopefully Best Buy can help some way or another.

"Downgraded" from the Marantz Cinema 50 just to see if nearly double the price was justified. To my surprise, the Onkyo RZ50 is easily the better bang for the buck! Sure, it doesn't have the same detailed ability to tweak settings, but offers slightly better power output and doesn't get as hot.

Sound is nice and broad. Full of details even at lower volume. Dirac makes a difference but it sounded clean without it. Perfect balance of performance and value. You will notice the step up in performance.

This is by far, the best receiver I have owned. This thing punches better than any of my others in the past. My speakers are even outdated. My next step is to get new speakers to enhance even further the capabilities of this receiver.

Buyer Beware! I purchased this receiver in October 2024 and should have returned it before it was no longer returnable. The sound quality is good but the receiver is very buggy. I can’t even get the on-screen display to work at times. This purchase has been more frustrating than anything and now I am stuck with a piece of junk.
