Good anime film, as they all are, but not for one looking for constant action and suspense. Takes you through the life of a young Japanese girl but has no real wonder on why her life is so worth telling. Flashbacks are entertaining but why go beyond that?

For those Studio Ghibli fans, this is a must watch!

Wasnt as good as I thought it would be but still a nice story.

The visuals are fantastic, but the story was a bit too slow for me. I've read reviews from others who swear by this film, but it wasn't really for me. That being said, it is a Studio Ghibly, so it's definitely worth a watch at least once.

It was a typical movie of its type. However, the plot was a bit slower than I had expected. Part of the family gave up watching halfway through. I stuck through to the end, and it wasn't horrible, but it's not a classic like Totoro.

The movie overall is nice, but a bit slow on the storyline. I'm not sure that's a flaw - these Japanese stories take their time and they view it as a true craft. I enjoyed it, but wouldn't be watching it multiple times.

Great animation and setting with problematic pacing. Frankly, I found the story a little boring. If you are a fan of Ghibli movies, you may want to give it a try. Unfortunately, it is not one of the best Ghibli movies.

A fun story showing how one woman moves from the city to the country. This is more of a thinker than a drama. You will learn about some interesting things about farming, country life and a different way of schooling.

Honestly I prefer the more adventure/fantasy genre when it comes to ghibli movies but others might really enjoy this slice of life movie

Though a bit confusing, it does show how a young girl showed to stand up for herself and be a strong woman. A great collection from SG.

This movie was a little slower than the other Ghibli movies. It is not for younger kids but my 12 year old liked it.
