    $$$ Save Money $$$

If you are paying for internet why not get more out of it. I have had no problems with Ooma Telo. Very easy to use pretty much plug and play. Using the Ooma Telo with Cox cable and Apple AirPort Extreme dual band router. I'm saving $30.00 a mo. now, and that with me paying $9.99 a mo. for Ooma Premier service . The Premier service has good features....

    Everyone should own one

Everyone should own this in order to reduce their monthly bills and stop getting scammed by competitors. Unlimited calling for less then $5 a month (you still pay the FCC and 911 fees). Relying on cell phones is dangerous due to poor battery life and 911 calls are routed to a central location before being forwarded. We tested 911 to make sure it worked and I received a text message on my cell phone alerting me that 911 was dialed. I'm very impressed with the service and the clarity is better then my iPhone.

    Worth the money

This system is great. I have had mine about a year and have nothing but good to say about it. I would recommend 6.0 wireless phone set of any brand. I currently have V-Tech phones from Costco and they work great. The reason I say use wireless is because I did get a slight humming noise from my jack. The wireless phones eliminated that. Kinda confusing setup, but once that gets figured out, everything works great. Between the phones I bought and the money I paid for the system, I still made it up in less than a year of not paying a landline bill. I have ATT and have no problems with sound or quality. Very happy with the product.

I bought this in February of 2009. I was very apprehensive since I didn't know about the sound quality. I was paying AT&T sixty dollars a month for an unlimited long distance home phone plan (720 per year). It paid for it's self in four months! I am so happy I bought it. The sound quality is great and I've saved a lot of money!!

    Loving it so far!

Call quality is only slightly inferior to my cell phone, which is great. There is about 1/4-1/2 second delay when speaking, so you sometimes end up interrupting each other. And certain factors can negatively influence call quality, including (in my case) a call coming in on another line. Overall, though, these few downsides are MORE than compensated for by our dramatically slashed phone bills. We'll be keeping it. By all means give it a try!

    Great VOIP value

Ooma service is the sleeping giant of the VOIP world. Sure Magic Jack is only $19 a year, but you can't beat a one time buy and never pay a bill again. The greatest advantage is this is a stand-alone box with no need for a computer. Highly recommended.

Just be patient setting it up. I used to pay about $90 a month for phone and internet thru verizon. When the swtiched me to Frontier, I was ready for a change. Bought this at Best Buy for $200. Got cable internet access for $35 a month and now I pocket $55 a month! If you have DSL, I recommend switching to cable. Makes sending dial tone to the whole house easier. We have had it for 2 months now and it works just as advertised. We had a little bit of a delay when I first set it up. I called their support line and their took care of it. I have no regrets and only good things to say about this product.

I have used OOMA for six months and i would greatly recommend it. At first i had quality of service (QOS) issues but after upgrading my 10 year old DSL modem my phone service with OOMA is working great! It only costs me about $3.40 a month for local and state taxes. Do expect about a two week delay for activation is you want to port your current number over to OOMA. Btw, my home answering machine works fine with it after i set the OOMA message to not pick up until after 5 rings.

I switched from another VoIP carrier and am very pleased with the result. I just completed paperwork to port my second line to Ooma - again, straight forward. The call quality has been excellent - I've been on the service for 3 months and find it very worthwhile. A minor issue had emerged. I was able to resolve it with a single phone call to a local person who was pleasant and polite - great service, no repeat issues.

    Unfortunately, Not for Me

Easy set up and works like a charm. However....... My DSL is bundled with my phone.Having stand alone high speed Internet would actually cost me more. Instead, I purchased a Bluetooth capable cordless phone and cancelled long distance on my land line. I now pay $38/mnth for AT&T land line with DSL. All my long distance calls are routed through my cell. I envy the people who are able to utilize Ooma and all it's great features.

    It works well... for awhile

To be fair, on the plus side, the device did work as advertised while it actually worked. So I've had the Ooma Telo now for for a little under a year and half and it just stopped working. The unit is "dead" (per Ooma's tech support). After declaring it was dead, the tech support guy I spoke with quickly passed me on to their customer service department. They told me that I could buy a new unit for $199... but since I was a repeat customer, they could offer me a deal at $179! great deal! The $14.00 per month bill is pretty decent, but others do better. If you amortize hardware cost ($200/16 months = $12.50/month), the total cost gets closer to $30/month... which is the same price as land line phones! I would highly suggest that anyone thinking about this product should do a Google search and they will find many customers with stories similar to this one... Ooma's customer support is, unfortunately, lacking in desire to actually help customers. For this reason, I will not be buying another Ooma device and would not recommend it to anyone.

I have went from Ma Bell to Vonage to Ooma. Easy to setup and use, linked in Google Voice with very little effort. Would recommend to anyone with a good internet connection.

Good Price, Doesn't Fax, Terrible Cust Serice

Purchased Ooma telo. Customer service is terrible. Voice quality is good. Ooma does not like to Fax. My system worked for a while, then stopped faxing. Contacted customer service. They route you around in hopes you will go away. The first two levels are in the Philipines and the third is in Palo Alto. The first two really resist letting you go to the third. All three levels finally admitted that faxing with the Ooma was on a "Best effort Basis" not Really one of its strong points. If you have talked to the third level of of customer support and need to call them back, you have to go through the first two again and they really fight you. The really try to keep you talking to them in the Philipines. I am going to return my unit to Costco and go back to Time Warner. It works and Customer service is responsive.

Ooma worked better than expected, easy to set up, I transfered my old phone number from At & T without a problem... The online functions are great... I especially like the ability to manualy block unwanted incomming phone calls from numbers I blocked in the call log...

Once you get it set up, it’s a great product, saves you tons of money on your monthly phone bill. The call quality is excellent. Setting it up the first time can be hard but you can go to the support website and get some tips. I love it I am using it everyday.

I was a user of Vonage and I always had problems with the system. I had to reboot it on a regular basis. It was just unreliable. Since buying Ooma, I've not had any problem. It was easy to setup. Customer Service could improve, but I am still very pleased with Ooma. I recommend it to everyone. It won't be long before it pays for itself, and after that it will be a great cost saver.

I've been using the Telo now for 2 weeks and so far everything works great. I connected it directly to my cable modem and then connected the router to the Telo. Connecting the Telo to the router caused a delay in sound, but connecting it directly to the router fixed that. International calls are also inexpensive (need to add money to the account first before you can make international calls). Great product for free phone service aside from the required taxes (which is about $4/month for me).

I am fairly new to Ooma. I love the product and recommend it to anyone thinking about switching. Why pay for a landline when you can get home phone service for free. If all you need is a dial tone, voice mail, and caller ID.. then it's free.. however... the ooma premier features are soooo awesome that it will be hard to resist upgrading to it. On the negative side of things... don't bother getting the optional ooma handset. Get yourself a decent cordless phone. The handset is cheap.. and the phone quality is terrible. I used it for a month and returned it. Overall.. Ooma rocks. I'm soooo happy I finally made the switch.. and so long to my monthly phone bills.
