I use this to watch HD movies and gaming with my Xbox 360, my set up is on a 130 inch screen in my bed room and has very beautiful high quality display no matter what size you take it up to.
I love this projector I plan on buying more for the other rooms of the house, I am so glad I went with this product instead of getting a high quality 60" how my sis suggested, now everyone always watches movies, fights, football games, and gaming at my house when the big events come to place.
Will make your room pretty warm with the heat it gives off through its fans, would recommend a cold temperature in the house or have a window ac like me.

For a $1000 projector, this is good unit. I am impressed with the image quality, fast boot and quick shut downs. Images in a dark home theater / media room is excellent. Blacks are distinct and color switching is fast. Unable to see any lag or blotches of over saturation. All good news.
My only problem with this unit is ceiling mounted install. I have a 110" silver screen and throw is great with over 14ft. The issue during the install is lens correction - image movement up/down to correct for angle. Could not get it perfect. I do not have a long down tube, so am stuck with the height of mounting and the distance from projector (previous install).

Very easy to use projector that works well even in a lighted room. The sound is decent but is much improved with a pair of portable speakers. Easy to adjust and zoom. Excellent array of settings available to customize to your liking, or you can use the preset options.

Only thing keeping from 5 stars is lacking the ability to screen shift. Other than that, very bright and clear picture.

This is my first projector. I did a lot of research before buying this. I was looking for a decent projector for mainly video games and TV. This did the trick. I love it and the picture looks great. No ambient light unless I turn on my LED lights and it still looks good in low light.

I'm using this projector for both movies and a little bit of gaming and it works great. You do need external speakers or a sound bar. Speakers inside the projector just don't do that well Even with the settings. It does need to be over 8 ft away from the screen to get a nice big image. 10 to 12 feet would be ideal but it all depends on what size screen you want to view it on.

This was my first projector and man I didn't know it would show this great. I projected it off the wall when I first got home to try it out and it showed great on the wall. I didn't want this projector at first because I had my eye on the epson 2030 but when I went into best buy to buy it the sales man showed me this one because the price had been lowed because the box had been damage. I end up getting a $1100 projector for $750. If you want the big screen then this is the way to go. If you want any great projector then look to spend $1000 to $1500 for one.

This is my second Optoma I have purchased. I had the last one for about 4 years. Great company. I did look at a lot of other projectors and for the value and quality this is a nice one. I have had this now for two months. It plays nicely. It is louder that my other one. But I do not know how you get around this if you want a better projector.

A Good Entry Level Projector

First, Best Buy dropped the price for this projector $90, 3 days after I picked mine up. Like I reported, the picture quality is there and projector is easy to set up. My installation is from the ceiling. This involves mounting a plate or arms to the underside of the projector cabinet. The threads in the projector are 3mm and only about 1/4 in deep. Only 3 mounting screws are used and are not in the center of the cabinet causing it to be unbalanced when hanging. The 3 screws for mounting are only about 4 inches from each other, set in a triangle. I thought this part was made very poorly, hope it doesn't fall on my head! Best if used on top of a coffee table rather than ceiling mount.

This was my first projector and by far a great purchase. I watch movies and play games on this projector. I can also leave the blinds open and still play games or watch a movie without an issue. I never thought a projector can look this good but it does. IF you are looking for a projector under 1k this is the one
