For 549$ don't even think about it. The picture is awesome. I bet it can compare to much more expensive models. Full 1080p and the 3d is awesome. It does not have lens shift so it needs to be centered to the screen. So it is best to mount on the ceiling both the projector and screen. I have the projector on a tripod and a tripod 100" 16/9 screen and it is a hastle to set up every time. I play Xbox one games on it and I see no problems. Picky people that see rainbow effects and I don't know what else don't look at cheap projectors. Great buy. Love it. Very bright. 4 lights.on no sweat. Best buy delivered to local store 1 day before I was told. Happy camper.

I am so happy I chose this projector, I almost spent a lot more for a lesser product. I'm so happy with full 1080p blu ray movies at 150 inches . You cannot ask for a better brighter projector for the price

Awesome . Better than I expected !! Great for use with Flightscope and Apple TV. The picture is better than my regular tv. I want to get one for my man cave next

I reviewed a host of projectors before I chose this one, over 3000 lumens, 3D and HD 1080p. The built in speaker is a plus, but I highly recommend external sound a small speaker in mono spoils the large screen experience. Only con is manual focus, but unless you move it no need to refocus. It lacks the inputs of other projectors at only 2 HDMI inputs, but again not a problem, I didn't want a bunch of wiring. I use one HDMI cable to my receiver and add all other devices there. At about 12' I was able to fill the whole wall with a high quality picture that was still very vivid with lamps on! I'm impressed, and I couldn't beat the price. Also recommend a low profile Mustang ceiling mount with this, it took alot of research to find a good mount at a fair price.

Crystal clear picture, very bright! This has done wonders for movie night at my house. I got it for the 3d capability and it did not disappoint. I use it outside on the deck and it shows great from the evening well into the night. I haven't tried it in full sun as yet. I have a covered deck that I set this on. Will repost with results once I try in those conditions.

I use this in my basement man cave. The 2 HDMI ports allow me run my PS4 and chromecast on the projector. Very easy to set up, and in the middle of a sunny day, the picture is still completely clear. It also is very quiet. Couldn't be more impressed after spending only $550.

Used this projector both indoors and for outdoor movie night on 12 foot screen. Easy set and operation. We connected easily from a laptop and from PS3 (our "blueray" player) using HDMI cable. 3000 lumens were more than adequate for outdoor viewing at night (started 30 minutes after sunset, moderate ambient light from neighborhood street lights etc.) Brightness, color, and crispness of picture all exceeded expectations. Built in speaker was adequate indoors and for a small group outdoors. For a large group or noisier setting, additional speakers, (there's an aux cord connection port) would be advisable.

Bought the HD142x. Had an optoma projector for about 12 years. Replaced it with Optama HD142x. Set up is very simple , boot up fast, picture quality is great. Automatically finds video imput, love the shape. Really love the range of the screen size. Cons: doesn't come with the bracket for Celing mount. You can find it at any hardware store. Optoma makes great quality projectors and I really love this model. Great improvement from 12 years ago.

Easy to use and set up and videos look great! He only issue I had was mounting it from the ceiling. I did not buy the official optima mount so maybe that was my problem. The mounting holes are off center so my adjustable ceiling mount made it project the picture a little crooked. I fixed it but I should have just paid more to buy the optoma brand accessory. Picture is perfect and motor is quiet. We have not tried the 3D feature yet.

I got it on sale but I absolutely love it! It is so bright and vibrant, even in the day. Easy to use, easy to setup.

I tried this projector out for the first time last night and it was awesome. I used it outside and connected my Roku to it and I went on my mlb app and played the Toronto blue jays game onto the side of my house. I viewed the game at an image size of 242" diagonal and it was very clear. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a projector.

Purchased this projector for a basement room to watch sports when the wife was using the living room. Great picture, bright in a well lit room, and doesn't get burning hot like most projectors in this range do. Very pleased with purchase and can't beat the price at all!

I'm really happy with this projector. We have no problems with rainbow effects. The only thing I don't like is it takes a couple seconds to adjust the resolution or find the signal when you switch inputs or formats. I wish that was a little faster, but it's a minor annoyance and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I discovered it can translate the side by side 3-D videos on YouTube and elsewhere! I didn't know it could do that and I'm very impressed and that opened up a whole lot of other 3-D experiences besides just 3-D Blu-ray disks. The 3-D craze may be over for the moment, but not for me. I wish I could afford a 4K projector, but this will keep me amused for a while until I can. My previous Optoma projector lasted 10 years! This one is even better and has a stunning picture with much improved contrast and it's almost half the price of my first Optoma projector. Bravo Optoma! Thank you for finally helping me afford a 3-D setup. One more thing I was disappointed by was I could point the Optoma remote at the screen and it worked with my old projector but it doesn't with the new one. Since it's mounted on the ceiling behind me it's a pain in the butt to change the settings on the fly, but when I get time I will try and reprogram my Harmony Remote to make the changes I use most often. Mainly the 3-D settings and formats.

Pros: Price point Picture Cons: Sound Great product. For the price I was willing to take the chance on this projector. I had a friend that has a different model same brand fell in love with his so researched found this gem and jumped on it. Before I purchased a screen I was impressed with the picture quality of the product. I have since purchased a screen and it has surpassed even that approval. I have thrown a backyard dive in movie night with it and all the guest were impressed at the picture and price point. But with everything great there has to be a negative. Not that it affects me in my use only because I use Bluetooth outdoor speakers for it but the sound is low and shallow. It fill a quiet room indoors but wouldn't be able to hear if outside having a pool party in which is how I use it. If your looking for a quality projector for under 1k price with an outstanding picture this is the projector for you. Don't let the sound quality keep you from purchasing this. Too many inexpensive ways to over come the sound cons. Purchase this you will not be upset.

I needed to get a new projector for my office. I wanted one that was easily moved, simple, and 1080p. For now I’m throwing it on a light brown wall and it still looks great. Very quiet too.

Loving this projector just have to get the 3D glasses from amazon since they're only $35 bucks for 2 pair DLPglasses because the RF ones will not work and besides the DLP glasses automatically sync with this projector for 3D use. Good quality and it looks almost as good as my led tv just much bigger. Only thing make sure you get a good background projector screen. Do the research, I know their those that say it doesn't make a difference however I can see the difference so glad I went back for an upgraded screen. Hope this was useful.

The picture on from this projector is amazing. The wall we broadcast the picture on is simply painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald flat paint tinted to Gray Screen and the picture looks awesome. Really good purchase.

I've been debating for a few years now on purchasing a new projector. I mainly needed something with a brighter screen as I like to watch movies outside during the warmer months. I am very impressed with the brightness and quality of the screen compared my ancient previous projector. The setup with super easy and fast. My only concerns is that it does put off a LOT of heat. Based on the projected life span of the bulb i'm sure i'll get plenty of use out of this and doubt it will need to be replaced anytime soon.

I HAVE USED THIS FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS NOW. I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED IT. I HAVE IT IN MY LIVING ROOM. IT HAS A GREAT PICTURE CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT IN MY LIVING ROOM. THE REMOTE HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO ADJUST THE PICTURE AFTER YOU SETUP THE ZOOM FOR SCREEN SIZE. THE SOUND FROM THE UNIT IS OK, BUT I AM SURE THAT MOST EVERYONE WILL HOOK THIS UP TO A SOUND SYSTEM OF SOME SORT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CONSIDERING THE 1080 AND THE AMOUNT OF LUMENS FOR THE PRICE. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
