Optoma has great products for projection..This hd243x has increased brightness over the old model..color is fantastic after setting the menu options...This is very portable..intend to use it outdoors for movies and concerts..

Prior to purchasing this projector, I did hours of research. Too much actually. I wanted a projector with low lag, high lumens, good color, able to present solid blacks, lightweight, decent number of options, a back-lit remote, and able to be moved (outdoor vs indoor). I also had a target budget in mind. This project hit each of my "requirements" and has totally ruined my viewing experience for smaller screens and most televisions. There is something about watching sports, action movies, or gaming on a 120+ inch... As great as the projector is, there are some cons: Depending on your set up, you will need to account for the short electric cord. I had to adjust my setup a tad because of this. Also, it emits heat. I had to situation it under the A/C vent to ensure that it, and my room, stay cool. Lastly and it is probably user error, I had trouble adjusting my screen using the keystone. It took some time to get the screen just right, but it looks great now.
