This was a Christmas gift for our 10 year old son and he loves it. He can drive it and make it do fun things with the app, or he can program it. Both allow a different level of play and it's something that he will be able to grow into as his coding skills become more refined. It seems to be incredibly durable as well as he drove it through the railing on our second floor onto the hardwood below and it never missed a beat!

I had an original Sphero and it didn't work anywhere near as good as this one. I am pleased and it is a fun toy to play with.

Great toy for kids of all ages. No manual in box. Harder for adults but kids figure it out quicker. Really simply and easy to install. Only con was they should included a rubber cover considering the price of it. Dings quickly but is tough.

Great, my daughter loves it. During 2014-2015 we bought the Dash & Dots; then this school year my daughter's school they teach this Sphero programming thing. I also recommended it to a couple of friends and they loved Best Buy's products as well.

Takes a little while to get into advanced features, but the basics are easy to get the hang of. And the dog loves it. Cons are it scratches really easily, but is really durable.

This has been a great intro into programming concepts for my 9 year old son. Lots of 3rd party app support so you don't have to just use the Sphero App

The robotic ball is very attractive, for playing and for display at my work desk. sprk app is truly amazing and creates creativity on my mind, finding ways to program difficult tasks.

We purchased this for our son's 12th birthday and he has absolutely loved it, there are so many fun things to do with it.

My grandson's really enjoy this product and programming it to do many different applications.

I bought this item when it was DOTD for $49 and my son absolutely loves this thing. He's found ways to program it to do many different things and I can only hope Sphero continues supporting and updating the app so he'll continue to enjoy it in the coming months.

This is one of those toys that makes you wonder "What can I do with this?". But after a few minutes this might become your favorite. The Sprk robot is controlled by a smart device like a phone or tablet. You can race it around, do stunts and other tricks like you would with any other RC toy. Where the Sprk shines is that you can program it to run around on it's own. That takes game play to a whole new level. Writing code to get the Sprk to do different things is really fun. If you set up an obstacle course, you program the Sprk to navigate it on it's own. Not only do you learn the basics of programming, but you have a blast doing it. Having multiple Sprks just adds to the fun as everyone is trying to get theirs to perform the best. This is truly one of the best gifts for kids of all ages.

I really like this cool little ball that lets you see the magic inside, but it seems a little too expensive and I had trouble controlling it with my phone. A wireless RC style transmitter would be great and even make it worth the price.

The robot is functional and attention grabbing and the accompanying app is well designed and fun. Often times one side or the other is good but not the other - not the case here, both the hardware and the app are well designed. One thing I do not like about some other educational type toys (e.g. Snap Circuits) is that the child doesn't really learn what is going on or how to deviate from the plan to creatively make something else, it's really just following instructions. Sphero is a step in the right direction, with YouTube videos describing why certain steps are needed. It's still not totally there in that the child can just copy the programs without understanding why steps are needed or how to vary the parameters, etc. but it is better. Overall, I thought it to be a very good product.

It took a little while to program, but once we did, it was fun to watch the sphere in action with all the lights and sounds!

This little robot is excellent for kids and adults. The visual programming app can be understood by children and beginners. The app to use it is free also so no additional costs. There is also an online community to share code resources so you can use examples from the start. I admit that it's not perfect. The slick glassy cover is cool but not good for things like grass. I recommend buying one of the slip on silicone covers but again, its not necessary, just helpful. Also, I ran a program to roll in a square but it didn't quite finish where it started. Again, not perfect, but close enough for this price point.

Son absolutely loves playing with the Sprk. Not only is it something he enjoys but you can learn how to do coding as well which can be somewhat educational. Overall, he's very happy with it. He used his own birthday money to purchase it and loves it!

This item was a christmas gift for my 9 year old son. He loves the ability to program the sphero to do what he wants. There are a lot of free sample programs from other users that you can load and play around with for ideas. A little pricey, but worth it if your child loves technology and tech toys. Hours of fun!

As a parent and a teacher, I wanted an activity where children of all ages could have fun while learning. This sphero definitely meets this need. The coding is easy to use and is a lot of fun. It was not hard to learn, and elementary school age kids had a great time competing against college students.

Enjoy the Sphero, but have to recalibrate often with my device to drive straight.

This works as advertised. I really recommend buying the rubber case the goes around it
