Orphan Black: Season One is a science fiction television series about human cloning that was originally televised on BBC America. It stars Tatiana Maslany as a young woman who discovers that she is one of several clones. The clones were created by a scientific movement to control the evolution of the species. The movement uses monitors to keep the clones under surveillance. There is a religious group that is assassinating the clones because they believe they are abominations. The clones, all acted by Tatiana Maslany, become aware of each other's existence as the series progresses. The acting is excellent!

Orphan Black is a very well-done TV program. It is definitely for adults only. The main actress plays several roles and interacts with her other characters seamlessly. She is a clone and for reasons she is trying to determine somebody is killing off her clones. The storyline carries through to subsequent seasons. There are a lot of good shows on TV today (2010's). With so much competition from alternate entertainment outlets TV needs to be good to get and keep viewers. Orphan Black certainly gets it right. The Blu-ray picture and sound are both great.

The BBC has struck GOLD. The series should get the EMMY for Best Television Series and Tatiana Maslany for BEST ACTRESS...PERIOD! It's like a good book. If you watch the first episode, you HAVE to see what happens next and after the second episode I was HOOKED! Ohhh... I could go on and on, and probably end up sounding like a babbling idiot...suffice to say, if you have not seen the series IMHO this DVD will NOT disappoint. I took a chance on buying the regular DVD version and was not disappointed with that either. Very good quality recording. Enjoy!

I Have To Admit I Came Late To Party That Is Orphan Black, But After Catching Up On All Three Seasons, I Have To Say This One Of The Greatest Shows On TV Ever, Fan Of Science Fiction Or Not You Will Enjoy This Show, Also The Acting Done By Tatiana Is Excellent, Not Only Playing Sarah, She Manages To Play A Dozen Clones , All While Giving Them All Each Different Characteristics , Definitely Pick This One Up!

Fantastic acting by Tatiana Maslany. Got turned on to Orphan Black by staff recommendation from local public library. While there are a few plot holes once started too addictive to stop. Season 1 arguably better than season two but both equally compelling. Do see them both and any upcoming seasons too. The DVD version's picture was very good and the Blu-ray offers no signifigant improvement as the only (minor) negative. If you're very sensitive to (non-gratuitous) graphic gore you might not want to see this.

Orphan Black if I recall was BBC America's first attempt at an original scripted program and wowww if it wasn't an amazing first try. Not only did it capture the attention of the scifi audience that BBC America viewers mostly are with its crazy premise but Tatiana Maslany is just.....unbelievable. She creates each of the characters personality so distinctively that you feel like you are watching multiple actors playing the different characters.

Orphan Black is a series that will keep you engaged and wanting more. On one level, it focuses on the question about what would one do if one could assume the identity of someone else, in order to escape their current situation? However, this only scratches the intrigue and twists that this international tv series offers. I couldn't wait to see what was next. I now want to see next season. ('Now' being the operative word).

Tatiana Maslany transitions between characters with ease and provides qualities and uniqueness to each that truly make you believe that you are watching different actresses. An absolutely unique show that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Be careful or you may watch the entire season in one sitting!

Orphan Black has an excellent plot that catches your attention from the first scene. Two look alike women see each other for the first time. Are they twins? You soon find out that there are more look alikes and that they are clones. Each has a different look and personality. The actress is amazing! The plot will keep you guessing about what will happen next.

Female actress plays a number of cloned sisters and does an awesome performance. It has a ton of dark sides to keep the plot interesting. I am looking towards season two. I am surprised that no awards were given to this productions. Lots of twist and turns throughout the series.

Honestly I can't even comprehend why someone wouldn't love this show! Orphan Black is, without a doubt, one of the best and most interesting shows right now. The acting (especially from star Tatiana Maslany) is amazing and the plot/story/writing is the most interesting/entertaining I've seen in quite some time. Three words: Watch. This. Show.

I originaly caught an episode of this show on BBC America and was hooked. Unfortunatley I could not find any place to stream it and needed to see what happened next. Although not to as much of an excess as some I have become I guess what is termed a "BINGE" viewer. I do not want to wait a week for the next episode or heaven forbid 6 months for a conclusion. I am glad I bought the DVD. Fantastic story telling that was "BINGE" worthy. I finished the whole season in two weeks time. I am hooked now Will have to be patient for season 2.

I have heard good things about this show, but never really though much about it. Then I started watching. It started of with the main character seeing a woman who looks like a copy of herself. This show has mystery, science, action, and a whole lot of stuff al mixed in. Well worth a try.

I heard about this series for the first time on EW magazine. The review was so interesting that I bought season 1 when possible. It is one of the most original series I have seen lately. The plot in season 1 keps you entertained and with enough surprises. I look forward to buy season 2 as soon as it comes out on DVD.

This show is so refreshing and although it is not the greatest when it comes to acting one person or should I say half the characters are utterly brilliant. Tatiana maslany is refreshing and each character is so different from the other that you feel like they're not the same actress.

Read about Orphan Black in EW, decided to give it a shot, glad I did. The main actress delivers great performances as all of the clones, is especially amazing when she's playing one clone playing another. Good supporting cast as well, especially Felix, very fun character to watch.

I was skeptical at first (it is the BBC, which isn't typically associated with slick production) but Orphan Black is a sharp-looking, and well-produced science-fiction thriller. The science fiction elements are probably on the weak side for science fiction fans.

For a show about clones, it never gets boring or super hard to understand. I'd say it is more of a character study of the lives of the these women, who happen to be clones. You'll find one you connect to and you won't bored on their journey.

I had read a review before I bought 'Orphan Black', but forgotten the details. I just put it in my player and was completely captivated from the very first moment. Every minute has been fascinating. The pace is fast and it is violent, but so worthwhile. Enjoy.
