Wide or thick bread gets stuck sometimes. One piece of bread, I toasted the whole piece did not even toast, but one corner tip got burnt

Especially the center slots. Sometimes you have to fight to get it to keep the handle down so it can toast.

Even my toaster was old I didn’t have any problems with it. This one I have to push the lever hard in order for it to stay down. ☹️

Burnt plastic smell

I tried running this about 5 times before returning it. Filled our kitchen with a burnt plastic smell every time.

Posted .Thank you for reaching out to Oster®. We are sorry to hear that the latch of your toaster does not stay down. No worries, we are here to help. In some cases, this is caused by a build up of crumbs in the bottom of the toaster. You may try to unplug the unit. Let it rest for few minutes and turn it upside down to see if some bread crumbs will come out. Afterwards, try using the toaster again. Also, the toaster must be plugged in to a direct wall outlet and have power running to it, otherwise the lever will not stay down.
Your Oster® 4 Slice Toaster has a 1-year limited warranty. If this wouldn't help fix the issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly in order to help you get to the best resolution. Have a good day!

It doesn’t burn your bread like many other toaster, so we like it. Recommended. I like the 4 slice option as well, saves time making toast. Cool to the touch housing, accurate shade control for your toast. Simple and easy to use, even a snow man can do it!!!! What else more could you ask from a toaster! If you’re looking for a new toaster this is it, look no more. Buy it when it’s on sale, you won’t regret it. I got mine on sale and it was priced right. No complaints whatsoever, enjoy your toaster if you purchase one.
