If you put them in and don't make sure they're centered, they could slip down the side of the support inside and get caught or broken when they're supposed to pop up.

It has a bagel feature, but the bagel always seems to get stuck in the toaster. It does toast evenly, so that is a plus. Wish the cord was longer.
