Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Commuter Series case offers excellent protection and a great fit for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. Positive feedback also highlights the case's ease of use, good grip, and lightweight design, although some find the price point to be relatively high. A few users mentioned that the case is not bulky and that wireless charging works well. While most are satisfied, some customers expressed a desire for an included screen protector.

Have been using the otterbox commuter for years and otterbox is probably the only company I would choose for cases. I had a commuter for my Galaxy s9 and now for my s21 ultra. Dropped my s9 hundreds of times and never had an issue. The one for the ultra is much better put together and the design is more fleshed out. Seems like otterbox has been improving over the years. Great job! Otterbox if you are reading: I would love to see an updated version for the s21 ultra with a slot for the spen!!!

This product is very protective while providing a more sleek design to accent the beautiful features of this phone. The sleek black camera on the s21 ultra is accentuated by the color of this case. The only down fall is the case was a little to slippery for me with the work that I do so I did return this. If you are looking for a case that is protective but the easy of in and out of pockets over the Defender series then this case is for you.

Who wants a case on a phone this beautiful? No one but, you realize after using this device for a short period of time, it's hefty, and pretty slick. I wasn't looking for a thin case, because if I was going to go that route I would just run it naked, but did not want to add tremendous bulk to an already large device. I feel like this is the best of both worlds. The back is a mix of plastic and rubber touches in the right spots. Plenty of lip protection in the front if you want to set it screen down. The rubber inlay that fits closest to your phone, gives you the sense that if you dropped it, it would be okay. The plastic outter shell is thin but in conjunction with the rubber inner piece, gives you a sense of confidence. Not to throw it down a set of stairs, confident, but if you dropped it, it would be good. My only nit pick is that sides could be a little more rounded off. Using this heavily for hours a day, I want to go get a piece of sand paper, and just lightly sand the edges on the sides down. Not a deal breaker, or a wouldn't have given it five stars but, I thought it was worth a mention. This case seems to be the best blend of protection, and thinness, I was able to find, and recommend any Ultra owner looking for the same.

Great case for the S21 Ultra. Fits great and able to control well in your hand. Looks like a small drop will be ok....not going to try it though. A great buy. All the buttons work well...Had the Samsung view cover on it and the buttons DID NOT WORK. The S pen was cool but offered minimal protection. So I put this case back on and haven't looked back. Definately a must buy

One of the best cases in terms of weight and protection. I have buttery fingers and drop my phone a lot, but with this case on it, I have no worries. I pick it up knowing that nothing has happened to it. I used to use the defender series but I think that adds too much bulk to the phone, so I switched to this case and never going back.

I've had a couple OtterBoxes on a couple old phones of mine over the years, and decided to return to the brand after my previous Galaxy S21 Ultra case broke in a couple bad places that compromised its ability to properly protect my phone. So far, in the ~2 weeks I've owned this case, it feels like good old-fashioned OtterBox to me. The case feels good in the hand (in my opinion), it doesn't add that much extra bulk to an already pretty chunky phone. Wireless charging also works without a problem for me, for whoever may be wondering. The raised lips of the case should protect the screen & cameras pretty well against direct impacts on flat surfaces (i.e. a kitchen floor, most driveways, etc.). Of course, adding a screen protector would better protect it from a drop onto non-flat surfaces like a corner of a sidewalk (or computer chair) or rocks on the shore of a lake. Alas, this case does not come with a screen protector, though other OtterBox case models do come with them, if you want something with one built into the case (your experience may vary if you want a separate screen protector with this case- some work better than others, to sum up past experience in as few words as possible). The dust flap over the USB C port is a nice addition as well, though you'll need to use a fingernail to get it open. To me, that's not much of an "issue," I'd rather the flap be good at keeping dust out than be so easy to open that it's kind of useless at that. The only notable "issue" I can think of, and it should hopefully be pretty obvious, is there's no slot for an S-pen. Though let's be real, it's a pretty niche accessory on the Galaxy S21 Ultra & the successor phone has its S-pen built into the device itself (not to mention, a side mounted S-pen holder on a hypothetical S21 Ultra OtterBox would probably make it comically wide & unwieldy for all but those with the largest of hands). Another thing to monitor is the sides of the top half of the case feel a tad flimsy to me, I can use a thumb to pull it away from my phone pretty easy. Though so long as I don't do that super often, I don't think this should be too big an issue (figured I'd mention that as something to note if you're someone who may not be able to resist fidgeting with this case). All in all, I like this case, and could honestly recommend it to others if they may be thinking of trying an OtterBox out for themself based on my own past experience. Of course, everyone's experience varies from phone to phone & case to case (hence, other reviews citing less favorable experiences), though at the end of the day, I'd say a case on a phone better protects it than no case at all.

This case provides great protection for the S21 Ultra. It is sturdy, but doesn't add a lot of extra weight. The only small issue I had was the case rubs against the screen protector I have on the camera lenses. I had to continually reseal it with my fingers. Overall, good case.

Tried both this and the defender cases.. Both offer great protection. Defender case is softer casing surrounding plastic. Commuter is plastic sleeve type cover over rubber style bladder. This, the commuter is much thinner and smaller feeling in hand. It is somewhat slippery but shouldn't be too hard to get used to. I ended up keeping this one over the Defender but neither cover the screen though. I sampled 5 cases these two are far superior cases to date than any of the other ones I sampled.

Very durable and easy to install. I tend to be a bit clumsy with my phone so I need a durable case. I have had Otterbox cases in the past and they always do the job.

Fit perfectly and the commuter series is just bulky enough to make my new phone feel like a phone instead of a glass credit card in my hand. Good grip on the back and sides. Otterbox has been saving my phones for more than a decade and I don't think I'll be switching anytime soon.

This is a very nice phone case that feels secure, even when you're super clumsy like me. I got it at a decent price, and it's nice that Otterbox offers a mid-range case, since their deluxe models are great, but much more than I need. This model is also easy to install (which is not true of a lot of Otterbox cases) and easy to remove should I need to. I especially like that it has a snap cover over the plug in for the charger to keep it from getting dirty when not getting charged. My last phone case didn't and the charging port was filthy by the time I got a new phone. The only caveat is that it doesn't include any glass for the phone front, but given all the issues trying to get the fingerprint scanner to work with most glass out now that may be a blessing in disguise. Still, I've dropped my phone many times since purchasing this case and not a bit of damage has occurred so feeling good about this purchase.

Does what it needs to do. Pros: Sturdy Secure fit Doesn't show fingerprints Potential Cons: Removing the phone from the case and putting it back in has cause bubbles on the rim of my screen protector but that might be more of a knock on the screen protector.

Nice, light and feels very protective. And it was about $15 cheaper through best buy than at the "phone store". I normally opt for the bigger, thicker otterbox, but this one feels like it will protect just as well, and I don't really use the clip/holster that the bigger one comes with.
