This fit perfect for my iPad mini 5th generation late Dec.2017 bought on Black Friday from Best Buy. Adds a little weight to the iPad but i’ve had the defenders for all my iPhones and never had a cracked screen or drop that caused any damage thru 5 iPhones so expect the same with this tablet case. Case was on sale @ Best Buy $44.00 reg. 89.00 and none else had it in stock. Very pleased with product to protect my iPad.

Worth the purchase. A Plastic covering for the screen to prevent scratches is attached to a hard plastic siding that attaches to a hard plastic back that encases the iPad. Then you have a synthetic rubber that covers the hard plastic both side and back, minus the apple symbol, and seals it in. The surface of the synthetic rubber helps to prevent the iPad from slipping on surfaces. Then you get a hard plastic cover that it all clips into for extra protection. I have a cat who loves to walk on my stuff, but with the Hard plastic covering it is not a problem. Plus!! The hard covering can be used as a stand.. Great Buy

As with all Otterbox products, this offers great iPad protection. Very light but tough. Screen protector which is invaluable.

I put my I pad 6 in it and I am confident it will be in the same condition when I get a new one a few years from now when I trade it in. It protects tablets completely. Great product I have been using for years.

We’ve had an iPad 3 for 8-9 years (the New iPad at the time) and went through 3 defender cases to protect it. The old iPad still works and no scratches or dents on it. Upgraded to the latest iPad (5th gen) recently and bought the defender case with it. It is slightly slimmer and overall a bit smaller but it still feels very durable. They start to wear out after a 2-3 years of use depending on how much abuse they receive. It's been a good investment to protect our devices.

I buy otterbox cases for all my devices and it’s always a worthwhile investment, especially considering the otterbox warranty. But, this case IS pricey ($80) considering the cost of the iPad ($249.99). As long as my iPad and case stay in tact, I’m sure I’ll forget the price in time. **The Apple Pencil holder IS included on the stand.**

I am a techie working for a private school. I have purchased over 40 of Otterbox Defender series cases and used them for several years at my school and home. Excellent case for durability and protection. Your iPad will be completely enclosed in the Otterbox Defender - all ports and buttons are fully covered and sealed tight. The screen protector is built in, so you do not have to buy a separate screen protector. The protector doesn't diminish the touch sensitivity at all. I use the Apple Pencil with these cases with no distinguishable decrease in conductivity. The snap on case prevents even the hardest of objects from busting your screen when being dropped on the ground or when teens trip over a book bag with the iPad inside. I love that you can store your Apple Pencil right inside the case so it doesn't go rolling around and getting lost in your bag. The case holds the iPad in two positions. Anything that isn't right with your OtterBox products are backed with a FANTASTIC customer service team, and they'll replace the item for free. One of the best companies to deal with - really! I love this case to pieces, but it does have some 'cons'. It only comes in boring black, which is great for business and to match your little black dress, but sometimes you just need some color! I have a ton of iPads, both at work and personally (I've got 6 iPads at home for different members of the family). I'd love to have the defender series in a few different colors - nothing worse than throwing the wrong iPad in your bag and getting to work...oops! The little piece of rubber that stops dust and dirt from entering your ports is super strong, and is sometimes difficult for me to open because it is tight enough to keep dust out. If you don't have fingernails, you may have a tough time opening them also. They get a little easier to use over time though. The snap-on case is difficult to snap off. If you're under 6 or have arthritis, you'll probably have difficulty. Over the last 3 years I've busted off the corner of three of my snap on cases when I've tried to pry them off (3 out of 40 ain't bad!) - and Otterbox replaced them immediately. Most people agree that the most annoying parts of the Defender series is the added bulk and weight. The bulk makes the iPad not fit into some of those cool multi-charging-stations, and even sometimes your own iPad carrying case. The weight - well, I'm a geek and carry between 2 and 4 iPads around and let me tell you - 4 iPads with Defender cases will wear out my skinny limbs after a short while.

Very sturdy case can use face in so don’t scary the screen or face out to work on

I have no earthly idea how one of the tabs has broken. It happened around Xmas 2021. I have never had a problem with this product. I own several Apple devices and utilize Otter box on all of them. Now I can not fix my iPad in an upright position. ☹️

Impact protection was the most important feature I was looking for in a case for my new iPad. I first tried the Zagg rugged book, which I really liked. However, I returned it because of the stiff hinge, lack of stand for the iPad part of the case so it can be used as a separate piece, and higher price. I considered a Lifeproof, but it was twice the price and the screen cover/stand was an additional accessory. I was able to get the Otterobox Defender on sale during a pre-Black Friday sale, and it is an incredible value for the protection and features. By buying this product at Best Buy, I feel confident I will get the genuine Otterbox quality I have come to expect unlike the obvious counterfeit I received one time when buying online from another retailer. I have an Otterbox Defender on the iPad 4 that the 6th generation replaced, and it held up well. The Otterbox Defender is best known for impact protection in a slim profile made from a material easy to grip. The case provides protection for the volume buttons, power button, and charging port too. It also includes a screen protector—no issues using the Logitech crayon or Touch ID. The screen protector provides some splash resistance since the screen cover is integrated into the case, but the case itself is not waterproof or even water resistant. The speaker and mic are not covered by the case at all. The stand can be used portrait or landscape and doubles as a protective screen cover for storage or for travel. It also has a place for the Apple pencil (the Logitech crayon does not fit). Overall, I believe it was the best choice. My only recommendation to Otterbox would be to include a space for the Logitech crayon on the other side of the shield cover, if possible. More color choices would be nice options too.

Heavy duty case for IPAD. Its a bit heavy but very protective of the IPAD unit; includes a screen protector and rubberized sheath. Heavy duty stand /base is removable or can be used as a stand alone item; becomes a hard shell protector when IPAD is not in use.

I bought this case for my Ipad 6th generation and fits perfectly, choose this one because screen protector is included and love the fact that the touch screen works fine. I have to say that it’s a little bit bulkier and maybe heavier than expected, but that doesn’t bother me, all buttons work great. Its very easy to install, my teen son did it in no time. And like the stand very much too, could be use in landscape or portrait mode. Really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this case.

Heavy duty cover that fits well on to ipad and protects the iPad very well. Takes about 5 minutes to assemble on to ipad , has clear screen protector too. Easy access to all feature of iPad with cover on it.

Bought the new IPad 9.7" (5th Gen) for my wife, she's loves it! I got the Otterbox for her at Best Buy. Great price, and my wife loves it, makes the iPad easier to handle and she loves the built in stand! Only complaint is, it's a bit heavy but that's not a big deal when you know your iPad provides, I feel, the best protection you can buy! I had several Otterboxes and never had a damaged phone or tablet! Thus 5 stars!

I feel like my iPad is very secure in this OtterBox case. It has a covering over the glass and it feels very solid. I really like the stand that Is inside the cover. It’s really nice for sitting on my lap or looking at a recipe in the kitchen. It’s a little bit on the heavy side but it’s worth it to know that my iPad is safe and secure
