I was looking in the cheap bin found this movie sounded good bought it and watched it

Thought it would be a good movie to watch but was disappointed with it.

It was not what I expected but worth watching. It had an okay plot.

Excellent acting by an all-star cast under the direction of Scott Cooper. Intense throughout, with many fighting and shooting scenes, but a truly riveting story. Bale, as the good guy, and Harrelson, as the extremely bad guy, are outstanding.

Bought this DVD because my boyfriend and I have been wanting to see this movie for a couplle years now and it is never available on Netflix, Hulu, etc. The DVD was the cheapest I could find it available to purchase. Took a risk because what if it was horrible, but luckily it is an excellent movie with an all star cast. It had a couple twists that I did not see coming and the actors made you feel for each character. Will be a movie I watch again and loan to friends and family to watch as well.

Great movie but beware of these older digit code boxes. There's now expiration dates on these and you end up paying extra for the version with a digital code and get short changed because it's expired.

The all-star cast is what first caught my attention. Saw this movie previewed on one of my other purchases. Not your average movie. Any close-knit family will be able to relate to this movie. A must see for any Christian Bale fan.

Films like this are tough for studios to market. Hence the small box office return. But it'd be a grave mistake to skip this film. Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) shows that he has a real connection with his actors, proving that the performances by Robert Duvall, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bridges of Crazy Heart were no fluke. Sam Shepard, Tom Bower, Willem Dafoe and Forest Whitaker truly shine and together with Takayanagi's cinematography they help bring Braddock, PA to life.

This is such a bleak, raw thriller; if it weren't for the performances of the stellar cast, the film would be too hard to watch. The Blu-ray is a little light on features, but it looks and sounds incredible.

This movie is what I would call a sleeper hit. A very gritty movie. Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson are the principal characters. There is a great supporting cast which includes the likes of Willem Dafoe as well. The film is cold and calculating. Takes place in a mining town near the Pennsylvania border. Steeped in Appalachia. The film centers around the lengths that one will go In order to avenge the death of a family member. An eye-for-an-eye mentality.....

I heard about this movie via the Pear Jam website because of the song Release. I really like how that song is used in this movie, and Christian Bale and Woody are great. Casey does a decent job too.

Seeing Christian Bale in this role was amazing!! Very edgy and dark. Woody Harrelson fans will love his role in this movie. He does well when he is not being funny, like his dark side.

It has a plot that really draws you in. Great acting by great actors. Woody Harrelson plays an awesome bad guy. The movie moves a little slower than I like but overall it is worth a watch.

The movie does a good job of developing the characters and getting the audience attached to them. There are no real surprises in the movie but it doesn't take away from the story at all.

Christian Bale is phenomenal in this drama about family and about taking justice into your own hands. Great cast and great directing. This is an awesome gritty drama. Get it!

What you see in the previews is basically the movie. I thought there would be much more action and suspense. It also took a while to get into the action.

The story was great, easy to follow. The ending was confusing tho. Wasn't quite sure why Bale was sitting at the table...did Whitaker let him go or what?

I found this to be a very good movie and would recommend it to any adult. The actors did a great job especially Woody Harrelson and Christian Bale.

A heartfelt movie about two brothers. One always about himself, the other about his family and doing whatever it takes to help and protect them.

If you like a movie to keep you guessing until the very end - this one's for you! A lot more twists and turns than you would expect - loved it!
