A very fun, team-based competitive game. Overwatch plays very similar to our old friendly game Team Fortress. Each and every hero has unique abilities that can easily turn the tide of any game. You play in teams of 6 people with an objective like protecting a point or pushing your objective through a map. There's a wide variety of strategies thanks to the amount of heroes available for you to use. You are certain to find a hero (or heroes) that fits your style of play. The game is very easy to pick up and has a very smooth learning-curve. The more you play with your hero, the more tricks you learn to win the game. Make sure to coordinate properly with your teammates and learn your role! enemy teams will not spare any mistakes!

Enjoying the quick games and gameplay. A lot of variety in the characters you choose from.
Take some time with each, the more I've played them the more I like the unique abilities.
Highly recommend!

The polish on this game is amazing! The characters are alive and stand out. 21 heroes all bring something unique to each match. One of the hottest games of the summer for sure. Possible game of the year!

fun game if you only like multiplayer shooting. no story mode which kinda sucks, but the different multiplayer modes makes up for it. A lot of different characters to choose from with different abilities. game reminds me of time splitters and boarderlands (graphics) crossed together. to me it is no more than a $30 game; and that is still pushing it.

Blizzard made a game with nearly perfect gameplay, but with a disgusting matchmaking process. It is intended to keep players around a 50/50 Win/Loss record and in order to do so, punishes you for playing well. If you don't play normally with a full team, the game will purposefully drop you from your current server in order to pair you up on a worse team (against a good team). This is a completely unfair and unjustifiable way to handle matchmaking and often ruins the game entirely. When it's fun, it's fun...but after a hot streak, you'll get paired with the most infuriatingly bad players and you will want to quit the game and not pick it back up. I think Blizzard really missed the mark here and destroyed an otherwise perfect game. With the content currently available, $60 is a bit steep, but all future DLC will be free so the price should be worth it in the long run. I highly recommend only buying this game if you have a full team to play with, as soloing with random players/teams will drive you up a wall.

I picked this up after being inundated with ads while watching Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm tournament while watching something fast-paced.
It's amazing and fun. It's a quick FPS, focusing on individual characters and their abilities instead of role templates. Each hero can do their own unique thing, and each plays completely differently, so changing up a playstyle is as simple as changing which hero you're playing.
Blizzard does double-dip a bit, though. Each hero has multiple cosmetics (skins, sprays, etc), and these are unlocked randomly from loot chests you get each profile level up. You can buy the chests as well but... it's not exactly a good call.

Game is fun to pick up and just play. A lot of characters to choose from with unique abilities. There is something for everyone. Price seems high for a game without a single player campaign but the free updates and addons make it worth it in my opinion. This is a game I will always go back to in between newer games that come out.

Best FPS for 2016

Definitely best FPS for 2016 hands down. One of the rare multiplayer games where it doesn't matter how long or when you started playing. Players still have an equal chance of being matched according to their level and no gimmicky perks, power ups, etc like COD series where you have to play from the release 24/7 in order to keep up with competition.
Overwatch solves all those FPS woes and provides a pretty balanced system, great customer support, and a very serious attitude regarding cheaters and bots. Blizzard does not play around and will drop the ban hammer if you do cheat/bot/etc...
Great game and highly recommend to anyone.

When I knew of this game, I was skeptical as I knew the idea was similar to an older game called Team Fortress 2, which is also team cooperative first person shooter game. I had not played TF2 no more than 100 hours, which made me think I wouldn't even played Overwatch more than that. I was wrong. At the time of this review, I've played Overwatch at about 120+ hours. This was definitely worth the money I spent for the amount of time I played. However, the amount of extras within this edition might not be appealing to others, as it includes small in-game goodies for other games by Blizzard, as well as a random note pad.

Great Spiritual Successor to TF2

TF2 came out nearly a decade ago. It kept me entertained for several years but it's been hard to get back in to thanks to all the new weapons and such. Overwatch plays very similarly to TF2. There are more classes but they all fill roles of attacker/defender/support/etc. Game modes are also quite close with capture the point and push the objective being the main modes. Content wise, there's pretty much just multiplayer with some visual unlocks but I trust blizzard will do a good job of supporting the game in the future. If you want something that scratches the same itch as TF2, definitely give Overwatch a try.

Game of the Year for a reason

This is has to be the best multiplayer shooter out now. COD, Battlefield, and Star Wars fail to capture the uniqueness and individuality of characters that this game has to offer. Not to mention the gameplay. Yes the games I said previously are kind of in a league of their own, but their storys are convoluted and full of recycled material. The characters in this game are balanced so well that not one is more powerful than all. Teamplay is a must in this if you want to win. No run and gun unless you want to respawn indefinitely. Kudos to Blizzard for always keeping us entertained.

I enjoy almost every Blizz game. What I enjoy about OW is the gameplay, I am not big into FPS but this is not just another FPS or a clone of TF. Gameplay is fun in every charater and you can find one you loved and one you hate but even if that is an issue, Blizz will release new heroes FOR FREE, no DLC business and also maps in the future, or so they have said.
Since launch, they have release competitive rank modes, one hero and also a special game mode for the Olympics. They have also implemente anti cheat and gone after 3rd party cheat companies to try to make the game fair for everyone.

Best Multiplayer Shooter I've Ever Played

Overwatch is easily the best multiplayer focused shooter I've ever played and have sunk hundreds of hours into this game since purchase.
The game is constantly growing and evolving with new characters, maps and modes along with a random weekly mode which changes the dynamics of the entire game.
The only downside would have to be the lack of maps at release, and how slow progression is toward the next level, trying to tempt you into buying the rewards through microtransactions instead of earning them. If you can deal with this, you will love the game though!

I know the title sounds like I'm overhyping the game, but it is really well done. Blizzard comes out with updates constantly and everything about the game is amazing. The lore is really extensive and interesting, the voice acting is perfect, the gameplay and graphics are also really great. It does bear some similarities to TF2 in terms of gameplay, but for anyone looking for a multiplayer FPS to play with friends, this is a must buy. I've definitely gotten my money's worth and would buy this game again at full price.
