I researched a few 4K Blu-ray players before buying this product. It consistently has rated top in its class for at least the last two years. I must agree. It stands apart in sound quality in addition to its top of the line picture. Great product.

Comparing to my previews bluray player, the Panasonic player is definitely superior in picture quality and sound. However, you have to forks out a lot more than any bluray player in the market that plays 4k. A higher priced player Cambridge CXU does not play 4k unfortunately. I do not know about OPPO BDP another high end bluray player

I prcticaly grew up on Panasonic. All items I bought with Panasonic name on them outperformed expectation. Lasted so long, I had to give up on them in order to buy new technologiy. As of now, this new 4K player is outstanding. Image is sooo real, sound is great, nice lit remote, hope it will last just as long. Only thing I don't like are POWER and EJECT buttons. They are embeded under a protectiv sheetcover, you can not feel them by touch and they are not lit. So you need to light up the room in order to find operting buttons. Or have a flash light by your side.

I originally purchased the Samsung UHD player but it was not outputting the correct 4K signal for my Epson 5040UB 4K Enhanced Projector. So I purchased the Philips UHD (separate review) which is awesome but I wanted this since it's THX Certified and it's absolutely Beautiful with my other HIGH END AV equipment in my home HT. This unit has so many options, build quality (absolutely perfect) and the picture quality is better than the Samsung hands down. If you have the $700.00 for a GREAT UHD player I highly recommend this one. Just one thing, this is a Magnolia item which means select Best Buy stores have it or you have to order online. Check to see if your local Best Buy is a Magnolia Store.

I heard about the Oppo 4K and wanted it. When it was too difficult for it to be ordered while I was making a purchase, I opted for the Panasonic. I am not disappointed. I don't know which is better. I can only say this Panasonic is great.

Player has been fantastic in its performance.The player delivers the best picture and sound. Blue ray movies look amazing with the upscaling of this player. I am pairing the Panasonic UB-900 with the LG oled which is a 4K set with dolbyvision. HD streaming on both Amazon and Netflix is amazing. You can modify the picture and sound on this player. This is definitely a HI END player.

A much more solid , well designed and complete 4k Blu-ray player than the Samsung. 4K/HDR quality amazing(didnt see a noticeable improvement over Samsung though). Worked like a charm right the from start,unlike the Samsung that had to be returned. Full remote. Certainly atleast $200-250 pricier than what it should be(hence the 4 stars). Hearing Oppo is going to come out at a price point lower than this.

The picture is great, the only thing it’s missing is local controls. I really miss that feature. I do not use the analog audio out, I only use the optical out. It is cheaper that the oppo.

Guys, this player works like all players should work. I calibrated my Oled TV in advance and Bam, glorious sound and image right off the box. Its quick to play the movies compared to my previous top of the line Sony Blu ray player. Please remember your image and sound will vary depending on your TV and sound equipment quality. This thing, makes mine shine like no previous player has. So yeah... it is good and to see all it can deliver you need your Home theater to keep up with it. Yes it is on the pricey side. The Player is smaller than my previous one but the finish is on par. No its not awesome finish it is excellent. The other players around are suffering from some cheap, cut the corners problems. this one does not. It just woks the way is supposed to work and delvers on the promises. I am pleased. Oh and I did not have to mess with adjustments. It was good right off the box.

Okay this player is a little pricey, but it is very well made. Setup was a snap and the remote is a nice size with large buttons. I have a Denon 4K Receiver and Samsung 4K tv. The Panasonic works with them all and produces great sound and picture. Compared to the Samsung the Panasonic is a hands down winner. I guess you get what you pay for.

Its rendition of motion is the smoothest of any of the top Blu-ray players including the Oppo, Sony, Samsung, and Xbox 1S player. And its 3D and 4K is also the best.

I bought this as an open box so didn't have anything but the player and remote. Really great image quality, wide range of adjustments but a clunky remote that I still don't know the extent of how to adjust performance. Picture so good it looks 3D without using 3D function. Blu-rays upscale to 4K quality but not nearly as good at upscaling regular DVDs--well, you can get them to look very good but have to fiddle with picture quality adjustments a lot. All tinkering has to go through the remote as the buttons are basically on-off only. While all isn't perfect, picture so good it rates 5 stars.

Easy set up, excellent picture and audio. Up scales beautifully. I am going to buy another unit for my Man Cave.

Don't let the price deter you. The QUALITY is there ! This DVD Player has MANY "Plus Features" that make it worth every penny. I learned about this particular DVD Player while shopping at Best Buy for a Surround Sound System. I am so glad I spent the extra bucks for this one. It is every bit as good as the price demands it to be.

If you're thinking between this player and the Samsung, do not even waste time with the latter. This Panasonic unit is simply outstanding. The sound, the image, the quality of the unit, is top notch. If you don't have a HDR TV, like myself, this is the player that will do the conversion from HDR to SDR, and let me tell you, it looks amazing! I have a Sony XBR70X-850B and got really frustrated when I purchased the Samsung unit. The image and colors were just not there. With the Panasonic, the only thing you need to adjust is the HDR brightness and a few tweaks in contrast/sharpness and you're good to go. The sound is more powerful that you're regular Blu-Ray player. I could sense the effects moving around the room. It's a bit expensive, I can tell you that, but what a piece of mind. To be able to fully enjoy a non-HDR TV on its fullest capability.

4K HDR Picture and sound quality is excellent Upscaling also. My only complaint is why they didn't add a USB port on the rear panel.

The picture quality is great. The sound quality the system puts out is awesome. I have a bose lifestyle system and i feel like I have been missing out on sound quality from my last player. Definitely worth the money !

The quality of the Panasonic DVD player is obviously better when compared to other units. We originally purchased a Samsung 4k player that was a couple hundred dollars less than this unit. The Samsung unit did not operate anywhere as easy as this unit. The controller on the Samsung unit was terrible. So I returned the unit to Best Buy for credit. However, the Panasonic unit is equipped with a great logical controller which lights up so you can control it in the dark while watching a movie. Also, the picture quality as played from the Panasonic unit is noticeably better on the 4K TV when playing a DVD. I believe it is worth the extra money since we like to watch DVD Movies. We do not stream sense we live in a rural area and the internet is limited. So, it made sense to us to purchase a high quality unit.

This is a perfect Blu-ray player for me because I have a large Blu-ray movie collection that I want to upscale on my new 4k TV. The sound and pictures that come out of this machine are nothing short of amazing. It only has Amazon, Netflix, and YouTube as major online movie apps. However your 4k TV probably can play VUDU and other movies better.
