I've yet to find a shaver that's cuts as close as a Gillette razor, but this Panasonic is as good as shavers get and it's a lot quicker than any razor:
- no nicks, no pulled whiskers
- great pop-up trimmer
- locking / flexible / pivoting head (follows facial curves)
- Lithium Ion battery:
---good for about a week-and-a-half to 2 weeks on a charge
---charges from 0% to 100% in under an hour
---very compact charger (takes little space in a suitcase)
- completely waterproof::
---good for wet shaving with regular shaving cream
---turbo mode for cleaning with ordinary anti-bacterial liquid soap
- locking power switch (prevents turning on in your suitcase)
- LCD panel displays battery status

I caught this shaver on a Deal of the Day. I'm pleased that I purchased it. This is my first foil shaver. The package states to give it a 30 day trial and that you will adjust to the new shaver - I found this to be true, seeming to cut better over time. I don't use this in the shower, so I cannot comment on that aspect. The shaver does cut close and as mentioned in other reviews, you will want to cut multiple ways on certain places of your beard. Overall, it takes me about 2-3 minutes to shave. I break it down and give it a rinse about once a week and that seems to be good for cleaning purposes. My only concern is that it doesn't really catch all your hair, so the sink has some shavings when I'm done. I'm not sure if this is because it's a foil shaver or this particular model, but it doesn't catch as well as my prior one, so I'm cleaning the sink after each shave. That said, I'm happy with my purchase because the battery life is excellent, it cuts close, and is really easy to clean.

Great razor without spending a ton of money

My previous electric razor before this one was a Norelco I bought at Costo. While there was nothing "wrong" with it, it didn't seem as good as my previous Braun razor. I had some extra money left over to spend, and decided a new razor was in order. Boy am I glad I switched. No longer do I have to go over the same area multiple times, worry about the razor falling in the sink, or wondering how much battery I have left. This razor, while not the BEST shave out there, performs very well. In problem areas I may have to go over the skin and additional pass to get the best results, but other than that, it does a great job. The razor is wet/dry, so if you like to shave in the shower, or use a lubricant, you're covered. And unlike the Norelco, they're easy to clean and don't have a ton of tiny parts inside to lose or reassemble incorrectly. The battery indicator is great, give you an idea of how much battery you have left in percentages. The charger also is able to quick charge the razor in 10 minutes so that you can shave for the day if you forgot to charge it up the night before. All in all, great bang for the buck!

At 67 years old, I had never had an electric razor, so required a little getting used to. The shaver has great balance, charges fast and cleans easily. I do get a really good shave with it, although it has taken me a while to get my beard adjusted to it, and to discover the best way to run it over my face in order to get the optimum results. I like its convenience get a very close shave...maybe not quite what I can get with a blade, but darn close.

shaved my tough beard nice and close right from the start. Charges quickly in about an hour or less. Works well with dry beard or put some shave gel on the blades. Cleans quickly with soap and water. Haven't used an electric shaver in years but was pleased with this model.

Decided I wanted to start shaving my head, so I did a little research and picked this. It works great. Gets really close which is good enough for most days. Sometimes when I want a SUPERANTISPYWARE close shave I will use this, then a normal razor. But it works great in the shower or dry, charge lasts and I love the digital display for how much battery power is left. It charges fast too, if you're ever in a crunah for time.

User: 47 year old male with thick beard growth and somewhat sensitive skin who works in a corporate environment.
Habit: I do not shave over the weekends, or when I go camping, etc., so that first cut can be gnarly and cause in-grown hairs easily. I generally rely on fixed blades and shaving cream for my Monday morning shave as the electric shavers have fallen short. Typically for Tue-Fri I use my dry electric shaver and a trimmer accessory, as needed.
History: Over the years I’ve relied on five electrical shavers up until buying this Panasonic Arc3. My first two were rotary style, plugged in operation only (no battery). They were reliable, but very basic. They were okay for use on Navy submarines as they eliminated the reliance on water, which wasn’t always available. My third shaver was a foil style. I thought I’d try something for a better shave as I still would get in-grown hairs with the rotary. It was a flop. I was very unhappy with it and couldn’t wait until I could replace it. When it was time to replace the foil, I switched back. My next two were rotary style shavers, but with batteries! Ahh, I loved the portability. They both would work plugged in which got me out of a tight spot more than a few times. They were more efficient than my previous rotary models and had rudimentary battery indicators. Blades seemed to last about a year, so I thought they were expensive overall to maintain. I loved the ability to clear them with running water and I never used them as wet shavers. I had RewardZone coupons that were about to expire and were burning a hole in my pocket, so I thought it was time to give the foil style a try again.
Review: I bought the shaver one month ago after a week of research and reading online reviews. I’ve used in every day except Saturday & Sundays. I have yet to pick up a fixed blade razor which is a miracle, because I always had to use it on Monday mornings as the rotary style I had would not cut through the forest. This shaver cuts through it like professional loggers. The best part is no red/hot spots or in-grown hairs! I used it reliably for three weeks and when I saw the battery indicator down to 10% I tried to run it all of the way down to give it a new charge. It never went to 0, but that’s because I didn’t want to abuse the blades with excessive friction heat. It charged up in what I consider no time flat (didn’t measure it, just came back a little later and it was 100%). It is still going strong on that charge; I’m very happy with the battery life. I also rinse the shaver once a week; always Mondays …sort of a reward for successfully cutting away three days of growth. It’s easy to clean and I just air it out until Tuesday morning for my next shave. [Funny side note, this morning my significant other asked if I broke my new shaver. She never noticed it airing out before. I chuckled and told her what I did.] I have not performed a wet shave as of yet. Maybe I will one day just to test it, but it works great dry, so I haven’t been tempted to, yet. As a side note, I don’t think the shaver is as loud as others have complained about. It’s not an irritating sound and I don’t get yelled at for using it when my better half is still sleeping….so that should say a lot!
Overall impression: Knowing what I do now about this shaver, I would have had no problem paying full price for it. At the time I bought it (and now 30 days later), the price is listed as $99. I am so glad I tried the foil style, again. And I’m really happy I tried this very specific brand & model. The Panasonic Arc3 Wet/Dry shaver is so far a great addition to my hygiene routine.

I have been a lifelong Phillips / Norelco razor owner / user since i was 16, mostly because my Dad and my Grandad also used them. My last Norelco had just died after 11 years of service and i needed a replacement. I had only intended to look for a new Norelco but I was shocked by the price for the short amount of use time versus a ridiculous amount of time to recharge (45 mins of charge with 10-16 hours or recharge and +$100). I was pretty disgusted with the situation and decided to start looking elsewhere for a better replacement. After reading the other solid reviews of the Panasonic (a brand name I respect) I decided to take a chance on a foil shaver and there was a price break when i purchased. I have been more than satisfied with how this new razor works and wish i had switched sooner. I hope I get many years of service from this razor, it's easy to charge, clean, use and it's light without feeling cheap and it feels well built and designed. My Dad may also be a convert after trying it....and that is saying a lot.

An Excellent Wet-Dry Fast Shaver

Pros: I like this Panasonic wet-dry shaver. It shaves very close without irritation and it's very fast. I usually use it as a dry shaver where it is very good. For the times that I have used it as a wet shaver, it seems to cut even closer, all without scraping your face...which is important to me.
Cons: The replacement cutting blades and screen are hard to find in stock at retail stores. The replacement parts are very expensive and almost cost as much as buying a completely new shaver.

This shaver has been everything I expected and more. Pivoting, flexible head works great giving me a nice close shave. Charge lasts over a week, charging it up is quick. Cleans up easily. Trimmer takes a little while to get used to but it works very well. This is my first electric shaver in years and it's been worth the investment.

This shaver was excellent right out of the Box. It surprised me a little bit with how much louder it is than my previous circular blade shaver, but I quickly got used to it. The only other way I can get a shave this close is by using a new razor against the grain, which irritates my skin really bad. You don't have to make a lot of passes to get a close shave, so the time to shave is shorter than many other razors. It's really easy to clean, and the only time it irritated my skin was the first time I used it, and even then only my neck was irritated.
I got it on sale and it was more than worth the price (less than half what I paid for my last shaver, which couldn't hold a candle and was a Norelco). Only downside is that the battery life indicator goes by 10% so you may think you still have battery life and then it all of a sudden goes from 10 to 0, but easy way around that is just to charge whenever it hits 10%. A lot of people said it doesn't have good battery life. I shave every day (military) and the battery lasts me 2 to 3 weeks, so I'm not sure what they're talking about.

I was getting a lot of nicks using a razor blades. I take blood thinners so once there was a nick, it tended to bleed for a long time. I decided to go electric. Other reviews on this shaver were very good so I decided to try it.
Gives a good shave, it's easy to clean and it charges quickly and holds it.

After all these years I thought the Braun and Remington were the best shape electric shavers but I was wrong. Panasonic definitely has outdone itself the shaving blades are superior long-lasting accurate and comfortable also the Shaver charges in 5 to 10 minutes. Excellent all the way around

After my Braun died, it was time to shop for an electric shaver. I was going to buy another Braun but didn't want to spend the $170, so I saved myself about $100 (plus cleaning cartridge costs) and bought this Panasonic. I'm pleased with close shave, decent battery life and ease of cleaning (rinse it out, let it dry, and you're good to go...no more cleaning cartridges). After one month, so far so good....

I have sensitive skin and this is the first time I use a Panasonic shaver with Nanotech Blades on my legs . I always shave in the shower using shaving cream. No burns, no pulls, smooth and less damage to my skin.
The shaver is compact, fits in the hand nicely, light weight, and semi quiet.

I'd been using the cheap electric razors for about 6 months now. I switched from disposable because they are way too expensive and they tore my neck up. The cheap electric razors would all break on me, so I decided to spend a little more and try this one out. So far its been a good purchase. It gives me a much smoother shave than the discount razors. It's not quite as close of a shave as the disposable, but it's close. Considering I will save $$$ going this route. I am very happy with my purchase. Also it seems my razor bumps are at a minimum with this razor as well. Just don't forget to inspect the foil for damage from time to time.

I was a Braun fan for many years, but this Panasonic shaver won me over. I had no idea that getting a close, comfortable shave could be so easy. Its blades vibrate faster than any shaver I had used before, so they whiz through my beard effortlessly. Its light weight and trim shape make it easy to hold, and the battery indicator shows the charge level to the nearest 10% during operation and again during charging. I get about 10 shaves on a charge even though I spend a little extra time on my pointy chin and flabby neck. This shaver is a winner!
