I had been using a XBOX one s for my 4k player for a while and was ready to upgrade. I was originally looking at the big brother for this unit, the UB9000, but after doing research I found out the video side of both are identical (the build quality and audio section of the UB9000 are far superior) so I opted to get this unit at half the price. To say the picture quality over the XBOX one s is night and day would be an understatement. In the units settings you can select which type of TV you have (OLED in my case) to optimize the picture output that will work best with your display but the real treat is there are 4 levels of HDR output so you can really get the best picture on your TV plus if you are a real tweeker you can even manually adjust the HDR to your liking. My first gen LG OLED 65ef9500 has never looked so good. It handles audio mixes from dvd, Blu-ray and 4k UHD really well and they sound great when watching movies. As far as the CD audio section not being on par with the UB9000 I resolved the issue by running Audio Quest toslink to an aftermarket DAC (Toppings E30) then Audio Quest rca's to the CD input on my receiver. My cd's sound amazing with this unit and show me that its time to upgrade my receiver to a more modern one. As far as how well the streaming section works I can not answer as I have not tried it, I am running a ROKU ultra as my streaming device. If I had to give it a ding, and this is mostly a nitpik, the build quality is a bit lacking especially for a $500 unit. It is lightweight and plastic, it doesn't set itself apart from a $100 player and at this price point I would have expected a little more.

I can see the difference in image quality when using this 4k blu ray player with my LG G4 Oled TV.

Very happy so far. Haven’t used it enough to make a final judgment. Audio and video are excellent. Still trying to figure out all the settings.

Wow, what a awesome Blu-ray player! It handles all of the latest formats from Dolby vision and Atmos to HDR 10+. If your current player is a few years old, you will definitely notice a huge difference is both sound and picture quality if your TV and Audio systems can support what this player outputs. Highly recommended for anyone wanting the best player under $500

Very high quality blueray player if you are looking for Dobly vision. No need to spend any more on the higher end model unless you are looking for the analog audio inputs. This will fire up my 4k Bluerays for years to come. Very solid and reliable panasonic product.

PQ improved noticeably with switch to Panasonic. Not having to switch between Dolby and HDR is a huge plus as well. For HT folks, well worth the price difference for better enjoyment.

One of the best UHD Players on the market. Excellent picture qaulity and HDR tone mapping with special settings for different TV types. The only down side is the User Interface which is a bit slow in terms of response time and the cheap qaulity of the remote control.

I started buying/watching 4K Blu Rays since they first came out: first using an Xbox One S, then an Xbox One X, and then a PS5. Recently I started to notice that 4K video from streaming services often looked better than 4K from discs, so I took a chance and bought this. I was SHOCKED by how much better the video quality was. I had no idea that 4K Blu Rays could look this good. It's pretty expensive for what it is (even on sale), but if you have the money and are looking to upgrade from an Xbox or PS5, you will be blown away by the improvement in video quality.

I picked up the UB-820 mainly to rescue my huge DVD collection, and it’s been worth every penny. On my OLED, TV old discs that used to look soft through my PS5 now come through almost razor-sharp—Panasonic’s processor cleans up noise and adds detail without that artificial “soap-opera” vibe. HDR tone-mapping on Blu-ray and 4K discs is excellent too, but the real surprise is seeing a 20-year-old movie look almost HD. Setup was simple (HDMI straight to the TV, bitstream audio to my receiver), and the menus are quick. My PS5 is fine for casual playback, but for dedicated movie nights this deck wins: quieter, better picture, and no system updates getting in the way. If you still spin discs—especially DVDs—this player’s upscaling alone justifies the upgrade.

Fantastic, Excellent, Great! This 4K blu ray player knocked all other blu ray players out of the universe. Dolby Vision is fantastic and the sound is top notch coming from my receiver that’s already top notch. Set up was easy. If anyone out there is willing to spend the money on a 4K player like this, you will be happy you did. This player beats Sony, LG, and all the other players out there.

This highly regarded 4K Blu Ray player is all it is cracked up to be. I tried the LGUBK90 first... Really bad remote, slow interface and many weird challenges with resolution when changing discs. Picked up the Panny and ran through the setup once and all discs look beautiful. 4k, UHD, Dolby Vision all great HD Blu Ray look excellent... Very happy with the purchase.

There's not much that comes in the box. You'll get some batteries a small remote controller and a power cord. The unit isn't very large either, but let me tell you once you connect this product to your television and turn it on you know from the very start you're going to enjoy this player for years. The setup was nice and had a premium feel to it compared to other Blu-ray players of dealt with in the past. It has internet connectivity via Wi-Fi or ethernet cable so you can stream 4K content to it through Netflix and Amazon prime but that's kind of where the streaming capabilities ends. I wouldn't have purchased this Blu-ray player for the streaming capability that's why I have a Roku and a fire stick but it's nice that it has some internet functionality. It gives data that other Blu-ray players don't give like how much data is being read from the disc in real time which is really nice for stats nerds out there. It is definitely a keeper. It made some of my older blu-rays pop a little more than I had ever seen them. the sound quality seemed to be a bit of an upgrade as well out of this particular player. I give two thumbs up

First let me start off, Best Buy is the place to buy your entertainment needs. Don’t depend on Amazon for electronics. I dealt with Amazon with this item. The Panasonic 4k player was a mess. I tried disc after disc to get it playing..maybe 2 sec glimpse of a feature I was trying to watch. I kept believing Panasonic made a good product from all the reviews I’ve read and also how it was came in as a top 4k player for the last few years. So I contacted Amazon, they sent me another players do the exact same thing happened. I returned both back to Amazon. I decided to order the same product from Best Buy after a week or so of frustration from Amazon. Once the package got to my house, I opened the box and realized right away that this player was different than the others. It was the same product but the 2 I received from Amazon had been apparently used! I wouldn’t have known that if I hadnt ordered this one from Best Buy. I think Amazon sent me defective players that might have been returned from previous owners because of the issues..I’m not 100% sure, but I’m led to believe that’s what happened. I enjoy Amazon but I’ve learned NOW not to order major items from them. I’ll get my electronic needs/wants from Best Buy. I’ve watched 2 disc on the player so far and I cannot believe the difference between my LG 4k player to this Panasonic 4k player! What a world of difference! It’s truly incredible! I cannot recommend this 4k player enough!

I bought a Samsung QN90C TV and a Q900C sound bar. My Oppo-205 was bought in 2017. I was wondering if there was a 4K player that was better than my OPPO. I came across this 4K player. I took it home and was amazed at the improved picture and sound. I am rewatching my 4K collection and others. Based on reviews, I would purchase 4K movies, and with my OPPO, it would be good, but not the WOW. This player gave me the WOW I was looking for. The sound is a bonus. I broke out my 4K Games of Thrones and the night battle in Season 8, Episode 3. It is amazing. Go buy this big boy. My only complaint is the people who use the streaminng apps on this player then complain. Use the same apps on your TV. They always play better.

Great video quality with 4K and DVDs. Supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision so it has wide TV use compatibility. Sound quality when paired with Home Theater system is breathtaking. Compared to streaming movies, this unit is significantly better. Sleek design, looks good on display. Drawback, kinda expensive, but worth it for home theaters.

Was having problems with my LG UP970 after 8 years and wanted to get a new 4K player. It was between this and the Sony X800M2, so I purchased both to see if I could tell the difference in image quality. I turned on the HDR tone mapping on the Panasonic to standard and set it to OLED. After looking at both playing an HDR10 movie, it appeared the Panasonic looked brighter, and had more pop to the presentation, but I wanted to know if it was placebo because of the price and reviews. I had a friend hookup one of the players without me looking at it being setup, then played the same scene from the movie. I was able to correctly identify the Panasonic and returned the X800M2. TV used in testing was LG C1.

Came from a Sony ES 4k player, I was hesitant cause I like it all Sony to match my Sony Oled master series but I said I’ll buy it anyways if it doesn’t work tomorrow I’ll return it.. YEAH RIGHT! Don’t know what took so long. But this player beats! All the way Sonys Elevated Standard all the way in all aspects of sound and image for a complete movie theater experience. Sad to say Panasonic won over Sony on this one. I matched this with my Bose Lifestyle 650 Home theater with an added second bass module and let me tell you it’s blowing up my mind as I wrote this. Do it you won’t wanna return it to the store ! 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
