Excellent first impression. Has met all my expectations for performance and features. Not many products outfitted with RCA Outlets anymore. If you are looking for a unit that seamlessly integrates with a Vintage Amp/Pre-Amp setup, this is a fantastic fit without reaching for the expensive Reference Grade offerings.

My first 4k player and it’s handled hdr10 hdr10 plus and Dolby vision upscales 1080 p or lesser now I only use this for pysical media not streaming so not sure how that looks

This plays old dvd's like they were blu-ray and the dolby vision is fantastic but you have to make sure that you have the luminance setting correct , on my vizio the default made the picture look almost all black on dark scenes but clicked on the highest setting and it was perfect.

So far everything is working well, and the picture quality is solid. Build quality for the price point is okay. will make an addendum as far as the longevity of this unit. From what I’m told issues can arise with disc reading down the road. Overall I am satisfied with the product.

After using the Panasonic Blu-Ray player for both DVD and Blu-ray discs we have found this to be a very good performer. The upscaling and audio quality are well done. I have not encountered a disc so far that the player will not handle. Hands down it is a really solid player which I would highly recommend. I cannot say about the 4K capability of the unit as my TV is only 1080i but the DP-U820-K does a great job with content presentation to the Sony TV I have. I really like the menu and content presentation much more than the others I have tried.

Awesome player. Upgraded from a Sony x800, because this supports Dolby vision. Immediately noticed the difference in picture quality with my oled TV. Load times are fast.

Works exactly as advertised. Easy to set up, starts discs playing quickly, and has excellent audio and video quality. Only (very small) criticism would be that it's wider than it really would need to be.

Very happy with this 4K HD player. The video image is awesome with both a 1080p tv and my new LG 4K tv. Easy to setup and use. Make sure you have good HDMI 18Gbps cables if playing 4K HDR discs. Get if when it goes on sale for $399. Lots of tweaks in the settings if are into fine tuning but it works great right out of the box. It has an internal fan for cooling but I can't hear it from my viewing position of approx 12 ft.

As many of the professional reviews already state, this 4K UHD player has very good video (and audio) processing with a plethora of professional-level calibration settings. I have it hooked up to a JVC 4K pixel-shifting projector and it looks fantastic with 4K content - slightly better than a cheaper Sony UHD player (that I hated) that it replaced. A few gripes, though - the marketplace for streaming apps is very limited and very clunky. The remote control is mediocre at best and it's the only IR remote control that I've ever used that has challenges working with the IR repeater in my theater room - but I have the same issue with a high end universal remote trying to send commands to this unit (the same universal remote works great with all of my other components). So beyond the lacking marketplace (e.g., lacks Vudu!) and the odd infrared signaling (works fine if the unit is in the same room, but horrible going through a repeater), this is a great unit. If you're a videophile looking for a unit in this price point, it's a must-have. If you don't care about the last 5% of video processing performance and calibration options, it might be overkill, although my experience with a cheaper Sony UHD player was very frustrating (the Sony player often froze on movies even after downloading the latest firmware, wireless network did not work, HDMI-ARC issues that prevented me from using a separate HDMI hookup to my projector, etc.). Anyway, if the money's not an option, you plan to stream using a different device (Roku, AppleTV, Shield, etc.), and you don't need to use an IR repeater to send commands to the player in another room, I would highly recommend this unit - but if any of these caveats apply to you, these are some things to consider, but I'm still keeping the unit.

My friends thought I was crazy for buying a blu ray player since everything is streamed nowadays. But, when the Internet goes down I can still watch a movie I know I will enjoy. Picture and audio is fantastic and I love that it has Dolby Vision, same as my TV.

This Panasonic makes beautiful picture and nice atomos surround sound. I use Sony led tv (85"), Pioneer Andrew Jones speakers, 3 front, 2 surround with 2 heights and 2 Dayton Audio 12" subwoofers), Onkyo receiver and NAD 5 channel power amp. Enjoyed Star Wars 4k blue-ray movies.

The best 4K player on the market under $1,000. Supports HDR, Dolby Vision. Many cheaper players on the market do not support Dolby Vision. Solid upgrade from the Xbox series X Blu-ray player. Pretty quiet when playing a disc.

This is a great DVD player. It's insane what these go for these days. Cost the same as my PS5 normally. I was able to get this on a Cyber Monday deal for 350 and then I had 170$ in gift cards so I was ok with buying this. For something this pricy, you'd expect a much better UI. I will say I like having a DVD player that can support large discs without skipping which is something you deal with on some of the other players.

Absolutely the best 4K Blu Ray player on the market. For this price and what it can do its amazing. The best part about this model is the upscaling of older blu rays and DVDs. It basically gives you the best picture you can get with modern 4K discs and older blu rays/dvds.

I like this player and I'm happy I bought it. The picture is fantastic. I can even see a difference in picture when I play older DVDs. Relatively easy to set up. Only thing I don't like is that it does not have the hand motion feature on top to open the tray. My previous Panasonic had this feature.

This player does it all. Atmos, Dolby Vision and even has an HDR optimizer for HDR movies not in Dolby Vision. Works great and the audio and video are stunning.

The quality of the build let you know this player is here for the long haul, unlike other players that feel cheaper and still cost hundreds. 4K is great, but upsacling is where this player really shines.

The the quality of the picture when watching 4k content and the process of the Dolby atmos is incredible. Easy to set up almost plug and play.

This 4k Blu-Ray player is excellent. Reading the disc is quiet and fast, while the video and audio quality are superb.

I have had the Sony X800M2 for about a year, was happy with it, very good picture and sound, the only minus, that I had to manually switch it to Dolby Vision, deep down I always wanted the Panasonic, but could not afford it, luckily it went on sale plus I had some gift cards and rewards, so I decided to get it. WOW, while the Sony is a very good player, the Panasonic is definitely a step up, the picture is definitely better, I noticed more richer colors and highlights with movies that I have, The Mediatek chip is awesome, even the sound I feel is a little better, I am SO very happy with my purchase.
