Nearly perfect TV. Best of the best.

Hands down the best television I've ever owned. Couldn't be happier with the brightness of this Plasma. The refresh rate with the great sound create a perfect environment for gaming or movie sessions. I have this set hooked up to a 5.0 surround system because the stock sound isn't up to my liking, though it isn't bad. The 3D capabilities on this unit are also impressive, albiet the glasses are sold separately and quite expensive. If you bought this model in the first place, I have to imagine money is no object between you and a superb viewing experience. Buy this TV with confidence. You won't be disappointed.

    Best all around TV

Don't worry that this is a plasma TV I knew the rumors about them burning out but Panasonic really stepped it up with the Vt-50 this is by far the best TV I have ever owned. One should expect to pay way more for what you get I chose the VT-50 over Samsung flagship which I think was a E8000 and first off your paying less for a TV that looks better just try it for yourself. You can trust the people that work at BestBuy cuz their really 16-20 year old kids that just go off specs

    Still going strong.

I've owned this TV for over 8 years now. Still going strong with no dimming. I have only replaced it recently due to additional 4k content in movies and gaming requiring an LED or OLED to fully appreciate. I wish Panasonic was able to continue their plasma technology into the future because this is otherwise an outstanding panel. I'm still going to keep using it though, just not as my main gaming TV any longer. Only downside I can see is that the brightness was never the greatest, but it's fine if you are watching in a darker room or at least out of direct sunlight.

This tv has met all my expectations. Easy set up, FANTASTIC picture. Bought from Best Buy in Everett and the service I recieved was top notch! I would recomend this tv to anyone, a definate must have. Also, there is an app on Google play you can download (vierra remote) on your Android phone, which will run all options on the tv, very cool! and works correct. My next tv will be the 65" in this model.

    Fantastic TV, Fantastic Price

This is quite simply the best Television on the market right now. I'll leave the technical babble to those best suited to give it but sufficient to say, it's the best looking Television i've had the pleasure of working with. CNet has a great spec sheet for calibrating it if you aren't into using the THX certified settings (which are fine by the way). The BEST thing about this TV is i got it on sale at Best Buy for $1695... almost a grand off its normal price. Amazon can't beat that price even now (its going for $1999.00 as of press time). Do yourself a favor and get this TV if you're in the market. It is simply beautiful and it gets better every day i turn it on.

Took back a LG 55" 240hz LED and got this and the picture quality is sooo much better and way more realistic. The blacks aren't grayish tones they are BLACK and the brights are BRIGHT and there's no motion blur! Finally!

    Panasonic VT50

I am by no means an expert on all the technical aspects of electronics but after reading the reviews on the Panasonic TC-P55VT50 I knew this is the TV I had to have that would last me for the next several years. I wanted anything that was not a Samsung as I despise their customer service and trouble that I have had with other products from them. So after reading the review I was happy to see that this TV beat Samsung in every way. My only complaint about the TV so far and the reason for the one star ding is the fact the TV will NOT swivel on the stand. I knew this when I bought it but it still irritates me that when I want to change the angle of the TV I have to slide the entire thing and at 100lbs is not the easiest. This is one thing that Panasonic needs to change, even an after market stand would be nice to correct Panasonic's short comings in this area. Otherwise a great TV!

    None better for HD

Beautiful set, great HD sound. I bought it before I had HD service and the audio was horrible. At first I thought it was the TV but was blown away once I attached my PS3 and upgraded to HD cable. Four HDMI ports but only 1 component port, which most people will not care about, however, I still have some older devices i.e. Nintendo 64, Mitsubishi VCR. FYI - all of the HDMI (4) and USB (2) ports are located on the rear right side. Had the set for about 5 weeks and also purchased the 4 year extended warranty. Cannot recommend this Plasma enough!

    Best TV Ever

Wow what a great set. I have had HDTVs since 1999 and never have I had such a high performance TV. 1080P stuff looks great. The smart apps are plentiful and easy to use. Not really sure I plan to use the touch remote as I have a Harmony 1100 universal but it is a very unique remote. I haven't tried the 3D yet since glasses are not included but I plan to and I hear it is amazing

    Great Plasma TV

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We went from a LED LCD to this plasma. Picture quality is superior on our lighting conditions. We were affraid that glare was going to be a problem due to a window in front of the location of the TV but we are now very happy with the change. We don't plan to use 3D features extensively so, the TV not including 3D glasses is not such a big problem.

i am perfectly happy with this new TV which is a big improvement compared to our previous one by the size and the quality of the image (brighter colors,3D dimension, quality of the sound). I would highly recommend it to anybody.

    Great Black Panel

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

In my opinion, this tv is the best on the market at this time. Love the glass panel with the try blacks. Great job To provide some background for that opinion, I have tried the following sets like Samsung Led 8000 series an the LG 60PA6500. The Samsung Led was something I had to try based on some reviews but it really was quite disappointing. For end note this is the best plasma tv, sense pioneer stop making the Kuro. Only thing I don't like about this tv is the internet, that take from the tv.

Usually thin TVs need a separate sound bar. When the Geek Squad set up the TV and ran tests without yet setting up the sound bar, we found that for the bedroom, where we watch regular TV and movies, the sound system of the Viera was excellent, matching the excellent screen. There is no better Plasma TV.

    Great Picture, Buzzing Though...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My only real complaint about this TV is a faint buzzing that can be heard when the volume is low or muted. I also have a Panasonic 65" GT class that I've really enjoyed. Was looking to get another TV for a different room and got the VT50 as the GT50 was no longer available. My Panasonic GT class runs very quietly, however I noticed a faint buzzing from the VT right after setting it up. If the faint buzz doesn't bother you, than its a really good TV. However, if your last/current TV doesn't buzz and you get this set, you might notice a buzzing sound and it could be distracting. Might take it back due to this minor flaw...

    overall good tv

overall tv is good, standard setting of colors and brightness from the factory is very dull and not bright or crisp. you have to adjust settings your self. geek squad people from best buy did not do the proper settings. tv was delivered and installed 3 weeks after the date it was purchased. i hope the warranty starts from the day it was installed and not the day we purchased it.

    Bad expirience

When i first set up my TV it was great, but i started to notice when the camera moved passed objects the picture was glitchy and noticed a rainbow color (green and Red). I went to best buy many time within my 30 days and they convinced me that i was just not used to it. after my 30 days was i up i had enogh and called geek squad to come out and fix it. the guy that came out saw exactly what i was talking about. he ordered the parts and a couple weeks latger he replaced the parts. after they "fixed the problem" the picture became very cloudy and still had the rainbow effect when ob ject would move quickly on the screen. i see all the great reviews so i know i have a good product, but it has been such a ahssel since i've had it, it makes me not feel to confident. i hope these issues will finally get resolved as i spend a lot of time and money at Best Buy.
