I own both the 4K version and Criterion BluRay. Many fans prefer the Criterion disc over this one, since Guillermo supervised the mastering of it. IMO, the Criterion version is a little too colorized for my taste, and I prefer the more natural coloring of the 4K disc and slight improvement in picture sharpness. I also think the Atmos audio track on the 4K disc is a bit more immersive than the Criterion.

Pan's Labyrinth is an all-time classic. Expertly scripted and directed by the amazing Guillermo Del Toro, Pan's Labyrinth tell's the story of a young girl's struggles of adapting to an unwanted life and her escape to a fantastical world. Amazing practical effects and cinematography. The score is remarkable. One of my all time favorite movies. The 4K transfer is great and the HDR is subtle but perfectly applied. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is my all time favorite movie! This is an adult film, not for young children. This is in Spanish with English subtitles, but don't let that be your only reason for not watching it. I actually love the fact that the director didn't make an English version, he stayed true to himself, plus it makes it feel more authentic & sacred. Saying I love this movie is an understatement, I'm a little obsessed with it! It has so many dimensions within the realms of fantasy, which makes it HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL!

I don't need to sell the film to you. It's a multiple Oscar winner. A fantastic war/fantasy film. What you want to know about is the 4K transfer. That's the interesting thing. It's dark. It wasn't as dark on the Blu-ray. That's not necessarily a bad thing. A few minor details are hard to see on a dark screen but I assure you it's better than that accompanying Blu-ray. The colors are richer, skins tones are natural. It's a very good disc. One worth adding to your collection.

What a great film. Like a grown up and really violent version of Labyrinth (with David Bowie). This movie sucked me in. Loved it...but, don't say I didn't warn you about the violence if you're not into that...there's a scene with a wine bottle that is in the top 5 most brutal movie scenes I've ever seen...it's great!

The main character is a child, there is a great deal of fantasy but this is not for kids. The violence even makes me squeamish and I don't squirm easily. The character development is great on all, even the antagonists. The story leaves questions that you are left pondering and answering for yourself without the feeling of a bad ending that just isn't finished. The beasts are beautiful and ugly and outstandingly rendered. The story is completely engaging.

Prepare for Spanish language but English subtitles. You get used to the subtitles quick and there isn’t a Quintin Terrantino amount of dialogue anyway. The visuals are beautiful and the story is like a dark fairy tale. I highly recommend this film is given a try because it’s wonderfully done.

What a fantastic movie. Doug Jones is masterful in a double role And the story is so engrossing and the ending will shock you. I highly recommend seeing it. I would add that it is not for younger audiences.

I bought this after seeing a lot of people talk about it online and not having much information other than that. I had no clue the entire movie was in Spanish. Thankfully I can read, because this was a great movie! Highly recommend if you are into horror & fantasy.

A perfect movie for the 4k HDR treatment. The visuals are striking, and the sound helps create an immersive and impressive experience. I highly recommend this version if you have a 4k TV and nice surround system. It is an older movie so I recommend not paying full price.

This movie is an instant classic. Of course it’s foreign and it’s got English subtitles if you don’t understand what they’re all saying. It’s one of an amazing film, and I mean, it’s a long time coming for me to own this one. Great film!

With all the magical things that happen in this movie, even the not so magical, all look stunning in 4K. Personally I only buy 4K movies beef up some of the SFX in the movie and this one does not disappoint.

Imagine you have a door to enter a world of fairy tales and some unearthly creatures demands "you are princess of their world" But if you want to enter that world you should have completed 3 tasks. Then what will you do?

A great mix-up of period war crossed over with sci-fi horror adventure. The 4k transfer for this was not quite what everyone was hoping for but ultimately I think it is still an improvement on some of the previous blu-ray only offerings.
