    George C. Scott!

Yes, this film is long, but George C. Scott delivers such a grand performance as Patton you can't take your eyes off the man. At times, the man appears totally off his rocker, but that only adds to the depth and dynamic of the whole movie. In the scene when the war ends Patton says "All good things must come to an end". I mean who else could get away with in saying that? Seriously, this isn't even a war movie. It's a character study. It's basically the George C. Scott show from first scene to last. And he owns every single frame of every single minute of this movie! You'll rarely find a cinema badass like George C.Scott's Patton. I can't imagine anyone in 1970 who was more deserving of the Oscar than George C.

I am a huge fan of Patton. I was barely alive when the Vietnam conflict ended, so I don''t know anything about WWII other than what I have read in books. That being said, this movie seems to depict it very well. Without all the intense action scenes of a Saving Private Ryan, for example (and because of when it was made, that would have been too much) it more than makes up for with superb acting and strategy. Great starter for anyone wanting to learn more about WWII and a fan of classic war movies.

Patton actually had a high pitched voice but ever since I first saw this movie, at a drive in no less, with my mother in charge of the event I cannot ever get over the enormity that was WWII and all the things which could have led to our demise. The world of allies at that time, men, women and children, all playing their part, saved the earth's people, "Mostly" from a truly dark future. Learn the history and the movie becomes an excellent theatrical portrayal of this man.

'Blood and Guts' General of WWII

General George 'Blood and Guts' Patton and his 3rd Army were the truly feared Allied force in the war against Hitler's Germany. And, the Wehrmacht had just cause to be afraid of the fearless General and his loyal troops who willingly followed him through North Africa then on to enemy occupied Europe. They rescued the entrapped 'Battling B******s of Bastogne' as they then marched right up to the front door of Berlin.

First off, Patton will always be a classic. Well acted and superb locations, and has the perfect balance of a war movie along with the real dynamic relationships of these great tacticians (on both sides). The extras disc is great too. Has a very good, lengthy documentary on the actual Patton. Lots of never before seen (by me) footage of the man (and others).

I saw this film years ago as a teenager. It is one of my favorite war movies. Patton was the right person, who was in the right place, at precisely the right time in history. There were many heroes in WW2, and it was a great tribute to all of them. Another of the greats.

The dual disc blu-ray steel book is exactly the same material as the standard blu-ray in a well thought out visual presentation with excellent exterior pictures on the case, as well as interior pictures behind the discs which most steel books tend to ignore. The recent steel book sale also made this version significantly cheaper than the standard edition.

One of my favorite movies of the 1970's this masterpiece is worth every minute of it, seen it originally in 1975 when I was only 9 years of age and its one of my all time gems. George C Scott performance of General Patton is one of the best performances by any actor ever, trust me you wont be disappointed.

The greatest performance ever by George C. Scott. A profound look into who General Patton was, his beliefs and what drove him to be the leader that he was. With Patton and our other great military minds leading the exceptional American fighting men we were able to defeat the Axis in three and one half years.

I found Patton just browsing the videos. I was not looking for anything in particular. I only had it on VHS, and I found the blu-ray for a great price. I grabbed it! It has a great soundtrack, hours of extras, on top of being a 3 hour movie! Great Buy! Keep up the Videos Best Buy!! Especially the 3D versions!!

Missed out seeing on the big screen, but remember seeing it with my dad on tv, when there was only 3 networks....Wanted to see again after reading "Killing Patton". Looking through movies at Best Buy, and they had in Blu-Ray, cool! Now, I can see again, "without commericals or cut due to time. George C. Scott was fantastic!

Patton is a movie that will go down in history as one of the most classic war films ever. George C Scott portrays Patton as well as anyone. The film is advanced for its time as far as effects, explosions, etc. I would recommend this film to any person wanting to sit back and watch a true classic

One of the great war films and individual performances of all time. Both the film and George C. Scott deservedly won Academy Awards in 1971. Amazing price for this wonderful film in stunning remastered HD (not the original, unwatchable Blu-ray presentation) with a great Steelbook case to boot!

What's left to say about PATTON? It's one of the best movies ever made with George C. Scott in an acting tour-de-force. Justifiably he richly deserved the Academy Award for Best Actor. This is the kind of movie, like The Godfather I and II that a movie buff has to watch once a year.

I watched this movie years ago when it first came out. I love George C. Scott, and he was excellent as Patton. It is a good World War II movie, with an excellent cast. It is as relevant now as it was when it came out

George C. Scott is excellent as he plays General George S. Patton in the movie that he won (but declined) the Oscar for Best Actor. His portrayal as the controversial U.S. General is during WW II, and he really comes across as "Old Blood and Guts."
