Not a great controller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just looks cool. It takes up a usb port to work. Presents a problem when you are already using wireless headphone and need to charge the unit.

Finally Found Great 3rd Party Controller for PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many people in the 3rd party controller market, I have been looking for a well-designed controller with the XBOX 360 layout for PS3, and this is nearly perfect. The analog sticks are concave like 360, and the cross directional pad doesn't click when pressed. I tried this out on BioShock and Dead Space and played each one from beginning to end. I have beaten these games on both systems with Platinum trophies and 100% Achievements. Using the Afterglow for each game felt no different than using the 360 controller, with the exception of the triggers. Afterglow models its triggers after the $5 Real Trigger accesory, so they are short and wide rather than long and thin. I feel they are still better than DualShock triggers. The face buttons and the cross pad do not feel as smooth as the DualShock when pressed, but they don't click and they're better than the rest of the 3rd party controllers I've used. I have 3 minor gripes: 1.) You cannot power the PS3 on with Afterglow - only off 2.) If you leave the USB receiver in one of the ports and decide to use the DualShock controller instead, it will flash at you incessantly. There is no option to stop this except unplugging it. (I prefer DualShock for games like Magic, JRPG's, the my-turn-your-turn type games, and AfterGlow for FPS, RPG, etc. 3.) Afterglow does not work with Alien Breed 1-3 for some reason, nor does it work when playing PS2 discs in the PS3 Other thoughts: The LED's are really cool, the vibration works perfectly, and the controller is also ridged on the underside, which is quite comfortable. I have logged approximately 40-50 hours of use with it at the time of this review. Have owned it for about 3 weeks.

This controller is horrible.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller looses connection constantly with the adapter and the analog sticks are too squirrely. I ended up taking it back and getting a regular PS3 controller, which I'm not too fond of either, but at least the analog sticks feel solid.

Cool Colors and Lighting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two of these controllers so that we could play 4 person games on my PS3. My 6 year old grandson is very excited that the whole family can play together now. He loves the colors and the light! The controllers work great! I ordered 2 at the same time expecting both to be blue. One is blue and one is red! Thank you Best Buy for recognizing that I would probably prefer two different colors. CONs: The controllers are slightly different than the PS3 controllers but all functions work the same way. You must have extra ports available on your PS3 in order to use these since each one must be plugged into its own separate port.

Very cool - didn't work with charger
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a second controller, but it didn't fit the charging dock that I bought for 2 chargers. The plug in was upside down, so I had to return it.

Attractive Controller/ Lacks Reverse Compatability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall function of the controller is great. There was no lag I could see but I don't know if I would trust a 3rd party controller on a multiplayer FPS. The main issue I see and I'm aware that most people will not even have the opportunity to see this is that it is NOT reverse compatible, meaning you cannot use this to play PS2 games on your PS3 even if your console is capable of doing so.

Love the soft color illumination
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is the second one of these I have purchased, love the way the controller lights up but as a soft light not a bright light as you play late at night. Great battery life when at full charge and love not having to be connected or directly in front of the console to play games.

It works, mostly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find that it looses its connection frequently, even though I'm only about 10 feet away. It reconnects seconds later, but those seconds while the controller isn't working is all it takes to wreck the game. Planning to exchange it for another one, as I think I just got a bad one. When it is working, I really like it.

Good for XBOX users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For XBOX gamers that also use a PS3, the controller is a good buy. I'm sure there are other controllers that are similar. I thought I would use the light up feature more often, but after purchase, I find it a bit of a distraction. That being said, it does what it promises, so no complaints. I only rated it a 4 because the USB plug blinks when the controller is not active, so if you use another controller or the BD remote, make sure to unplug the USB.
