    I don't recommend it

I purchased these headphones for use on my PC, and to my surprise, they were not exactly plug and play. The instructions in the box only show how to plug in the headset so that it is wired. Nowhere does it explain the usb receiver, charging the headset, or even how to turn on the headset. I had to look on youtube for tutorials and became even more disappointed to find that the headphones depend on your own sound card rather than having them integrated into the usb - The usb needed an aux jack (which was included) connected from itself to the computer's headphone jack. You must also disable the headphones so that it uses your original sound card. Even after finally getting the thing to work, there was a constant hum in the background, and the mic quality was comparable to a potato. All-in-all, not a good product and a waste of money. I would suggest purchasing a Logitech, Turtle Beach, or other gaming headset instead.

    Great deal for Price point

I am very happy with these, games sound great and I like the separate volume for chat. My only negative comment is the range, I would like to get a little further away maximum range is about 40 feet. You do get an audible tone when you go out of range which is nice, but it gets considerably closer when the battery is not fully charged. All that aside I like these and hope they continue to perform well for some time to come.

    Worked for three min

Got the headset in the mail today. Opened it read the manual plugged it in to my computer turned it on and they sounded great. Then I pushed the mode button and the left ear stopped making noise while the right continued to work. I was confused so I Googled the problem found that a lot of people had the same problem and were able to fix it. so I followed the steps and they still didn't work. So I plugged them into my Xbox they didn't work there either. I went on the PDP website and all they had was videos on how to set up and reset your headset, so I tried resetting them that didn't work, so I called there customer support and I was told by a recording to go to the website for help. All in all very comfortable, nice design, cool lights, good sound quality, a bit too many wires for wireless, possibility of not working, and very bad customer service.

    Terrible Headset, OK sound.

First off lets get one thing straight, this things are NOT wireless. Sure you don't have to deal with it plugged into your console, BUT the exteremely short mic cord has to be plugged into your controller and if you set your controller down simply on you lap and you attempt to look straight forward its coming unplugged. If you have to getup and or walk around, you have to take it off or carry your controller. This pretty much defeats the wireless capability. Now into the positives and negatives. Positives are that this thing is cheap, easy to use, pretty comfortable and has a good enough sound with 3 different tweaking presets. Negatives: Absolutely terrible mic. It picks up everything and people in chat cannot stand it, it spits back static and is SUPER LOUD when you speak even at just a normal voice, so if you tend to scream at a game every now and then your teammates will hate/mute you. Secondly, the stupid mic cord, what a piece of garbage oh my. First off its not even longer than a child's arm so it constantly gets pulled out from the controller and even when its in the connector is just awful it will cut in and out. This to me is what made it such a poor product, if you plan on using this as a gaming headset and speaking to people online, DO NOT BUY. And since a gaming headset is made to really have you talk online, this kind of defeats the whole purpose, and the sound quality is not any better than a typical headset like turtle beach or astros or tritans, you'll get a better mic, sound, and durability from all of those models and some are just as cheap as these if not cheaper. All in all its a decent headset for Sound, thats it. If your a typical gamer and like to talk I do not recommend this and if you must get it, then get the warranty because it will break and cut out on you. With all its bells and whistles and LEDs you might be very attracted to getting it, save yourself the money and just don't.

Good Wireless Headset for Wii U

I bought these specifically looking for a wireless headset for the Wii U. Unfortunately, options are limited and instructions online are unclear about whether certain models work with the Wii U. I can confirm that the sound works wirelessly and quite well with the Wii U. (I don't use the mic in the headset, so I am not sure if that works wirelessly). You simply need to use an RCA cable in your setup, the headphones piggyback off of the two audio prongs. Under audio settings on the Wii U, you can instruct it to output sound through the RCA cable (or through both the RCA and HDMI if you want to use TV sometimes and headphones sometimes). Finally, I'm no audiophile, but I can tell that these are: - much better than using standard headphones (earbuds, cheap headsets, etc) - comfortable for a headset These definitely aren't high-end compared to all headsets, but they're probably the best wireless available for the Wii U.

Best decision made in a while

This headset is the best headset I have to date. It has amazing features that most headsets do not offer. Starting with the color changing. Just having a glowing headset is cool, but being able to change the color to anything? That is just amazing. Next, there are different speaker settings to fit the type of game you are playing. Last is NO WIRES NEEDED. All wireless and easy to set up. Love this headset.

We have bought and used several different headsets. The Afterglow Prismatic headset is hands down the best ever!!! The sound is incredible and now we can clearly hear the other gamers we are playing. Also, the changeable sound modes and cool colors takes gaming to the next level.

    sound quality great, hardware not

The sound quality was great but in less than a year I'd replaced it twice. First the USB port on the tower failed and pulled off the board inside they said. Next, the wire in the boom mic crimped and evidently broke in two places as when not in use, I'd push it back in. Turns out the first replacement set want new but refurbished. Second set was as well. Return policy is send us the old one, we will process and in two weeks after receipt, we will ship another to you. Sad to be without it almost a month only to have it back for a month and have a defective refurbished sent. Overall, not worth the cost or hassle. But when it did work, it worked great for sound quality.

I wanted a wireless headset, I got a wireless headset. 3 audio eq settings leave a bit to be desired. Bass boost setting is nice, good low end response. Id have given it more stars but the USB adapter is huge and not exactly sturdy. Had them for a few weeks and heard a crack pulling them off my head. Plastic part of the head band broke clean in half. Theyre not terrible, and the battery does last a while. I guess Id recommend them, but with a warning.

This headset I would rate okay but could be so much better, the sound is great but they have a constant buzzing sound, also they are so tight they are uncomfortable after a few and hurt my ears along with my head, but my main reason to write this review is the cord that comes with it to plug into the 360 controllers does not fit very well, its loose and causes the headphones to have static so not very good to use if you are planning on chatting with friends well on the game in multiplier also my friends said they can hear them selves echo when they speak. I'm going to return these and try the turtle beaches because for the price these should be a five star rating,

I originally had the turtlebeaches dx12 with a warranty. They broke so i brought them in i wanted to exchange them for something i thought was a little better so i got these Afterglow headsets. Turns out their worse. They are uncomfortable on the ears, people around you can hear what you here which means playing at night while around others who are trying to sleep is difficult. Id recommend for the best quality and experience buy the astro a40 or a50 if you have the money if not just stick to the old TurtleBeaches. Also the mic on this headset is awful while playing black ops 2 or ghost ever'yone would tell me to mute my mic becuase it sucked and they said i sounded like a robot which is another thing that ticked me off about these headsets

    Very Good Headset

Well, you probably read all the bad reviews first, and most of them say that the headset has a hissing noise in the background. Well, there are 2 volume controlling managers on the back of the headset that are very easy and customizable. One sets the volume, the other balances out volume between chat and games. Playing with these easily removes the hissing and the sound quality is superb. The headset is also adjustable, so it cannot be "too tight." I have had 2 of these headsets in the last 6 years, the first i slammed on my desk and broke while raging lol. Anyways, both sets have been great. They are also really cool looking haha 5/5 stars

    Sub par gaming headset

My wife got these for me for christmas to replace my aging Logitech G930 headset. Would have rather replaced with a new Logitech G930 but her heart was in the right place so I'm keeping these. I've used my G930 for about 4 years now and IMO they are the best out there even today, so i'll compare to those with my experience with both. I am a PC gamer and do not own gaming console. My comparison should be considered for PC gamers as I have no experience with console game systems since the mid 90's. Afterglow's website doesn't seem to exist, facebook page being all i could locate. No software. G930 is found on Logitech's website. Software free download and 3rd party software located around the web to further enhance the headset. The three buttons on the G930 can be programmed for many different functions, this is a crippling blow to the Afterglow. Having to return to the computer to skip a song, pause/play the movie... it's a drag. 3rd party software can even make the Logitech mic voice activated for chat programs that do not have this feature already. No software is a HUGE disadvantage for Afterglow. Battery life seems to be the same on both. Wireless range is much greater on the Afterglow compared to the G930. This is a nice bonus although I've never had a real issue with the range on the G930. Microwave of 1200 watt or stronger and other such very strong signal interference was a bit of an issue with the G930 but not that big of a deal. Afterglow seems to have overcome this issue, but that is to be expected with such a newer piece of tech. Audio is crisp and clear in both headsets, but G930's 7.1 beats Afterglow's 5.1. It's not that big a deal in reality as most people won't be able to notice the difference in 7.1 to 5.1 with the sound source so close to the ear. Only in some games that I'm used to the 7.1 all the time does it become evident. Logitech's mic beats Afterglow's mic hands down. Both are easy to tune and are plenty sensitive and clear. Having a second mic built into the G930 boom to hear yourself speaking keeps you from yelling at the person next to you is a great plus. Pick up sounds and conversations around you is also a plus, makes eavesdropping very easy when people think your zoned into what's going on on the screen. Maxed out it can even pick up conversations in another room sometimes. Second mic feeds back into the headset only, no need to worry about it going out over your chat program. Afterglow's ear "cushions" are more like bricks squeezed against your ears with a vice clamp. G930 has very soft cushions out of the box that cup around your entire ear and seal out other sounds almost completely when the second mic is turned off or down really low. G930 seems to be put together better with better quality plastics and more actual metal parts, but as both are made mostly of plastics and both company's seem to lack the insight to put metal only components in critical areas they both get a fail score in that area. This seems to be the trend with most headsets these days anyway. Over all I would tell someone to order the G930 and save almost $100 rather than buying these or any other headset on the market right now. I suppose if you're a console gamer only then these would be near the top of the line, as I said, I'm not a console gamer so these are low to mid grade for me. They will do until enough time has passed to replace them with another G930 without upsetting the wife.
