    Avoid this strap

I purchased their Clutch CL-3 Quick-Attaching strap, and it was a major letdown, especially for the Peak Design brand. Unlike their other straps which use quick attach tabs, you have to manually thread one end to a strap lug and the other end to a plate on the tripod mount of your camera. This might be acceptable, but it's anything but quick, and the tripod mount plate requires a separate hex key. For a company that goes out of the way market how much they "design" their products, the fact you can't ever easily swap this strap without threading a lug (like any cheap strap) is somewhat of a huge disappointment. Also, if you want to switch to using a tripod, if you aren't using a Arca-compatible tripod, your options are to either spend another $25 - $35 on a tripod adapter, or bring the hex wrench (good luck doing this in the field). I looked into this, seems this strap has a litany of user complaints and accompanying caveats. According to other users and the Peak Design support pages themselves, this strap has a lot of issues with mirrorless camera compatibility, special guides explaining how you have to finagle it to even work work with other Peak Design straps and products, links to extra-purchase tripod adapters, and the inability to quickly swap the strap and plate without needing to manually thread and de-thread strap lugs and a use hex wrench. Skip this one.

I really like the ideas behind the entire Peak Design system. The connectors are clever and make changing strap types very simple and easy. The clutch strap has rarely been on my camera however for a couple reasons. First the bottom plate and connector prevent you from putting it on a tripod. Second, the top connector next to the shutter button does not use the Peak Design connectors and must be fed through your normal strap connector on the camera. Not a big deal if your strap connection is large but on my Sony A7iii it is small and requires me to fight it to get the strap through the connector. Fourth, if I already have a Peak Design connector hanging from the strap holder near the shutter button I cannot feed the clutch strap through. It has to come off and then I have to fight to get the clutch strap through. Finally, when I do have the clutch strap on, it must be tightened to feel secure and not like I am going to drop the camera. When it is that tight it is hard to move my hand around to the different buttons and wheels to adjust camera settings. I am hoping in time that I get more use to it, but right now I have only had it on my camera a handful of times.

So, what I like: 1) the integrated tripod mount 2) compatibility with other Peak Design straps 3) secure adjustment buckle Why I give it 3 stars is that the material the pad for the back of the hand is made out of is terrible. The microfiber-esque qualities of it feel akin to nails on a chalkboard and it is supremely un-breathable. Considering the quality I've come to know from Peak Design this was a let down. A more comfortable, less plastic feeling pad would take this to 5 stars. Now compared to others I've used, this is very good. It doesn't have an oversized chunk of plastic that blocks the battery door, it doesn't block the fold out screen, and it holds my hand securely. The buckle doesn't back off unless I want it to. This relieves a ton of strain on my grip when shooting for extended periods of time (i.e. a concert or wedding). However, like any other hand/wrist strap, it works great with full body cameras, small or half body will not work. You won't be able to reach the shutter release comfortably on a smaller body camera. All in all, I just wish this had a different liner fabric so i could use it comfortably.

This hand strap has been awesome from day one. For me personally, I always look for simplistic, minimal things so that my workflow goes by as smooth as possible and sometimes, having a a long neck/shoulder strap just gets in the way. I got this hand strap along with the capture clip and it just makes taking pics much easier Good, simple design. Latches are of good quality and so far, I have no issues using it on multiple cameras. I have a small Canon t7i and a full frame 5d Mark IV and it fits great. It’s also very durable as I caught my full grown husky chewing on it one day and not a single bite mark or scratch. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to ditch the neck/shoulder straps and go with something simpler

This is great for people that don’t like to use a strap around their neck to hold their camera. The quality is superb and feels like it will last forever. I only have one issue with the strap. When it is tightened down, it slightly reduces the reach of my fingers to control the camera one handed on my Nikon DSLR. This can be fixed by loosening up the strap, but feels a little too loose and takes away from its purpose.

the top part that you connect to the loop on the camera is very large, doesn't fit some loops on certain camera, i had to cut away some parts on the strap to fit it through the hole. Also the grip is not too good for a camera that is not large, it really needs to be larger to be comfortable, a mirrorless is definitely out of question, it doesn't fit too well on any smaller DSLR

I've actually purchased two of these. I have them mounted on an A7R II and A7S II. Very easy to install and adjust. They definitely make handling the cameras much easier. You can imagine a strap like this is almost essential when pairing a large lens (like the 70-200mm G Master) with the small mirrorless Sony bodies.

Quality materials, love the way my camera feels in my hand, I never feel I'm going to drop it. Like the quick connect. Only problem is you need the special tool to remove the holder where the tripod would attach, then the camera isn't held secure and have to keep track of the tool to get it put back together after using tripod.

I have several camera wrist straps and prefer them to neck or shoulder straps as they minimize my footprint and allow me to not expose my camera to the public so much while I am photographing. This strap by far is the best I have used. It is snug but flexible and very quick to put on. I love it.

I am a HUGE fan of Peak Design's straps, but I needed something easier to handle for my second body and when I go hiking. This worked perfectly! I can use Peak Design's CapturePro Clip to hold my camera on my backpack and unclip it and have a grip on my camera still without having a dangling strap!

Don’t care for this strap. I have a mirror less camera with some menu options that you access through buttons on the camera. I felt like this strap limited my ability to quickly reach the buttons I needed. I returned this and bought the wrist strap which is great!

Very nice design for hand held carry. I purchased because I'm not a neck strap guy… Depending on your tripod mount, you might have to remove this strap to mount it. I do with my travel tripod, nit a deal breaker, but it is inconvenient. Nice product and serves its purpose.

The quality is good . When used on a Nikon D7000 it restricts the fast access to some controls , but in my case i did not feel it was to much of a deal . Overal helps me carring the camera around ready to shoot in a secure way feeling I always have a grip on the camera.

Put on my camera for my Hawaii trip. Keeps it in one hand comfortably without any concern of dropping. Makes life SO much easier when handling lenses and a camera. MUST have for a interchangeable lens camera.

Should have done some research but this is for a bigger camera than my LUMIX GX85, so make sure you check compatibility first. The product itself was fine, I just don't know if it was clear packaging.

So far I like this hand strap, seems well made and sturdy It does leave. A big bump on the bottom of the camera so it will not fit flat but I don’t set my camera down much and always on something padded

Love the peak products. Had the hand strap and got this and love it. It’s nice to be able to use it as a sling or a neck strap. You can also use it to help support the camera when shooting

I bought it for my Fuji X-T2. However, the placement of the eyelet on the X-T2 prevents this from being useful. So, right now, I have this hooked up to my Canon 5DSR. Good concept, but might not work as good with some cameras.

I use as my regular strap now. Very sturdy and well made. Not sure I'm crazy about adding the extra piece on the bottom of the camera but I'm guessing the tripods that fit will be a great option.
