The Pebble Steel is a great smart watch all around. I was originally going to purchase a Moto 360 for my girlfriend as a gift, however, she was much more keen on the Pebble Steel, mainly due to its size and battery life. This product actually looks like a reasonably comfortable watch, and while I am much more personally invested in Android products, my girlfriend seems to absolutely love this smartwatch. It is very customizable, as far as the band and watch faces go.

I like this watch. It looks and feels much better than it's older brother, the original Pebble. This is first, a watch. It also receives notifications and you are able to do some basic stuff on it. If you are looking for a nice watch and allows you to receive notifications on your wrist, this is a good watch for it. Good battery life. However, while the apps for it are growing, it is limited. There were a few apps that I downloaded but they did not work. While it may not be the problem of the watch, it was somewhat disappointing. Why is it in the store if it does not work. I would recommend this for folks who are looking for a nice watch and simple notifications.

This is smart watch that I think is worth the money. The battery life is fantastic. I use it for 5 days and still have some juice left. The notification and vibration is nice. Love it.

Nicer version of the original Pebble

I was already a Pebble user, having both a Black original and Red original Pebble in my stable of watches. I liked them both (otherwise I wouldn't have bought the second one to begin with), but found myself a little frustrated with some graphics corruption that kept occurring on both of those watches. I had a little RewardZone credit to burn and saw the Pebble Steel at a decent price, so I snagged one to tide me over while waiting for the K-ckstarter edition of the Pebble Time Steel that I had already supported and am now waiting to receive. The Steel was, if you aren't aware, the version 1.5 edition of the original Pebble. It took what was good about the original Pebble and improved it and for me, the upgrade was worth it. While prices of the original Pebble series have come down, and along with those drops in prices there's also been drops in the prices of the original Pebble Steel, the difference is still one that might concern most buyers. Personally, if you are thinking of getting a Pebble, I would go for the Steel. It has a more durable and meatier feel to it, and over all just seems nicer than the original Pebble series was. The original Pebbles seem a little - at this point - like a run of the mill digital watch (like the lower-end Timex or Casio series watches that are now so plentiful). I still need to get off my duff and get my original Pebble watches swapped out to deal with the graphics corruption, but once that is done I can see myself easily going back and forth between those originals and my new favorite Steel. That'll work for me until I get the Pebble Time Steel (soon, please soon!)

I consider myself a techie and wanted a smartwatch but not one that would basically be a "smartphone" on my wrist. The Pebble Steel looks sharp and delivers notifications to my wrist and has a bunch of fun apps like an 8-ball as well as various fitness ones. The only drawback is about once every week and half or so it disconnects and i need to reinstall the app on my phone. It might be my specific watch only but it hasn't totally turned my off from it, I still love everything else about it.

It is hard to view the Pebble as just a watch, it is so much more! You will find your productivity increase. This device allows you to casually check who is calling you, check your email, and read texts easily. The battery is good but don't expect 5 days on a charge if you are using the device heavily. The apps can be a little clunky at first but once you learn how to use them they are very helpful. The leather band is nice, I would go ahead and drop the few extra dollars and buy the steel band so you can take advantage of the water proof features.I would definitely buy this “Watch" again. At $199 the Pebble Steel is a steal!

This is the black and white version which is easy to read both in the bright sun and anywhere else. The battery typically last 8 days. I can do so much more on this than the @pple watch. Why pay more for less functionality. The Pebble is water resistant to 5atms. perfect for the beach or pool. I love this watch, toy, information center and so much more.

The Pebble Steel is my first smart watch and I love it. Easy to read in sunlight or at night with back-light. Good selection of apps give the watch the ability to do many functions- GPS directions from your phone; compass(My favorite is Nav Me for Android); text and email (with prewritten responses), ESPN, news, basic tools (calendar, calculator etc.), control phone functions, etc.. Great battery life, only needs charging every 5-7 days). Has a tough durable exterior. Recommend getting a screen protector as scratched glass (it is gorilla glass) can lead to cracks. I'm not easy on watches and so far its held up great.

Great watch so far. Love the look and feel. A little too dark to see when reading a text but backlight helps. This was a gift for my husband and he wears it everyday.

Some of the apps should come with instruction manual because if they only do, what I see, not worth even free. The Pebble watch itself does what it said it should. Riding the motorcycle will allow me to change to a different song when the phone is on the charger and piped through the speakers. That I will love. The messages and email coming through are a plus too.

I received this as a gift to replace a standard wristwatch I've used for almost 25 years. It's been functional so far, but I can't say I'd miss the Pebble if I did not have it. It's in style, lookswise, for now, and I can tell it's a step shy of the Dick Tracy two-way wristwatch of comic lore (it certainly has the bulk of one). But the longevity of such a tool, given the way technology evolves, makes me wonder how long I'll really be using it. The Pebble offers several watch faces, including one that's a little more basic for traditionalists like me, and you can download others or create your own. The latter is probably the route 90 percent of the Pebble's owners will go. And there are other extras, such as GPS, an alarm clock function, and the ability to light up the watch face with a wrist action, that make this more than just a watch. You'll need to sync with your phone to download apps into the watch. This is fairly straightforward and hassle free. Only a limited number of apps can be held, however, so don't get carried away. My problems, so far, are these: The Pebble's primary function (aside from telling time) is to alert you to emails and/or texts that come your way, in the event you can't feel (or reach) your Bluetooth-based phone. Unfortunately, the vibrate mode is very light, to where you might not feel it go off unless your arm is perfectly still, and there's no way to adjust it. Smartphone users can respond to these texts in limited fashion -- you can reply "Yes," "No," "Call me later," "I'll call you later," or use one of 3 dozen emoticons. (Sorry, iPhone users, you're out of luck, but you might be able to download an app for this feature.) Otherwise, you need to wait until you can actually reach your smartphone to answer a text or email. You have to keep the phone on your person for the email/text alert feature to work; don't leave your phone in your car and expect the Pebble to buzz you while you're in your bedroom. The battery life varies, and is comparable to a smartphone. I have to recharge every third day, and I don't receive very many texts (and only texts). My son, on the other hand, has everything going through his Pebble, and is recharging every day or so, and this is with the unit brand new. Imagine how often he'll be hooked up to a charger six months from now. And, although the phone is USB-based, it uses a special, Pebble-only, magnetic charging cable (no kidding -- it really is a magnet that attaches to the phone's plug). So, you'll have to make sure you carry the cord with you, and have access to a USB port for recharging. On the bright side, it recharges very fast -- I went from 10 percent charge when I plugged it in, to fully charged in less than an hour. Given all these factors, as it stands now, I would consider the Pebble a fashionable fad accessory. Maybe version 2.0 will address some of these problems -- if this sells enough to warrant another version. Or it may be replaced by another bolder, better flavor of the month. We could be looking at another iPod Nano here.

Pebble Steel is a significant upgrade from the base model, much more durable and the battery life (while apparently a hit-and-miss adventure) is reasonable -- about three days with moderate use. Convenient to keep up with notifications while busy and not constantly pulling out your phone to learn that you can ignore that email or text. And rejecting calls from the watch is just beautiful.

I think it is nice product. It has retro style to it, and it does the basics of a smart watch, with a better battery. It doesn't have all the flashy and colorful apps that android wear or apple watch has, but it does that it suppose to do, for less money. Think of it like a regular kindle reader, vs kindle fire.... pebble would be a reader.

If you are buying this watch to track your health you are better of buying a gadget designed specifically for that, such as the fitbit. Although it offers apps that can count steps, calories, etc., the apps have to be running on the foreground continuously. In other words, if you switch to the watch face it stops counting your calories. That said, it is a great looking watch and it works nicely with my iPhone 5 to receive notifications, check the weather forecast, etc.

It allows me to check texts with out pulling out my phone and I can see who's calling before I reach for my phone it also keeps tack of the walking r running i do. It said you can do game but you have to use the button on the side of the watch to move thing in the game. I will also sync with you Google calendar it you want. It might also do the apple calendar if you have and apple phone.
