One of the few TV shows that I want to see again and when it became available on Blu-ray at Best Buy at a discounted price, I had to get it. The story is very interesting and certainly is not for youngsters. (There's a lot of violence and a few hanky-panky things going on.) But the production value is excellent and it really looked like they put a lot of money into it. Love all the characters – even the "bad" ones. I think I may have fallen a little for the actor who played Dorian Gray (ha!) There are some twists and turns – but that is what keeping it so interesting.

Sad to see it end..felt relieved after..the show seemed hurried, felt like they want to close shop quickly. In the end nobody ended up on top, most of the characters left quickly too, best scene was when Vanessa was reliving the padded room experience.excellent interaction between her and "Mr. Clare",very fine acting. A lot of questions, one in particular, while expert who studied him, like Hartdegen knew that he could charmed his way to human weakness, why it took 3 seasons for Dracula to figure out the easy way to get to Vanessa, as the saying goes, if you want the job done right, do it yourself..and why did Vanessa gave up knowing the consequences and still have the will to die after being under the power of Dracula, to end the end of days. What now, Dracula, Frankenstein, Creature, Brona, Wolfmen and Mr. Hyde?

Season 2 of 'Penny Dreadful' was just as good, if not better, than the first season. I found this season's story, the new characters, the further character development (a few surprises here) very interesting. I couldn't wait to get to the next episode (no binge-watching here!). The only negative issue was the short production blogs instead of more in-depth extras on some of the production aspects (sets, costumes, etc.).

This series is one of my favorites. I love how it incorporates all of the classic monsters, villains and heroes from each of their respective and contemporary times. This show has a dark and sinister undertone. Well worth the purchase and even more the time to watch. Kudos to the cast and crew for this GREAT SERIES!! A MARVEL TO WATCH!!

So much happened in Season 2 yet not in a cheap way. The show carried off it's stories elegantly. The pay-off for me was about 5-10 minutes in the last episode, which portend the threat to season 3. This one scene was so chilling I've gone back just to watch it again, and "I too scramble to my feet and run from the room..." Diabolical!!

Penny Dreadful has taken an interesting concept and made it work. Meshing various horror stories and characters into one seems like a bad idea and could end up being "cheesy" but the folks who created this show did it the right way with characters who are developed enough to make you care about them. I love this show so far!

The second season of the Showtime drama Penny Dreadful picks up exactly where the first ended, with a band of unlikely characters in Victorian England battling the forces of the supernatural. The setting allows writer John Logan to put together some of the era's most famous fictional science fiction characters (such as Frankenstein and his monster, or Dorian Gray). Well acted by a superb cast (including Timothy Dalton, Eva Green, Roy Kinnear, and Josh Hartnett), fans of monsters, werewolves, and good storytelling will be entertained.

Each Penny Dreadful Episode is over in what seems to be a very short time, as this is one of the great shows that holds your interest continuously. It sure isn't boring. It is fascinating, surprising, and has an extremely creative script. The acting is superb. I can't get enough of this show!

I recently got into Penny Dreadful. It's an amazing show. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who likes supernatural shows. This show keeps you wanting more and there is never a dull episode. Buy Season 1 and Season 2 right now! You will NOT regret it! :)

Great adult show but definitely NOT for teens! Especially ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR CHILDREN! You can't help but feel sorry for all of the main characters! They are all trapped in their own helll& torment! Waiting to see where next season takes them! Intense series!

Its impossible to state this more clearly: I love this show. Picking up where season 1 left us, Penny Dreadful moves forward with the same deliberate pace, our core returns, giving us more depth and....the visuals absolutely make this show, no question.

The second season continues to add to the excellent mythos that the the first season set. It builds upon the existing characters and even adds some further backbone to several characters introduced in the first season. While they added two additional episodes to flesh out the story, it feels a little drawn out when compared to the excellent and fast-paced first season. Overall, more than worth a viewing and purchase.

I was hooked by Penny Dreadful from the first episode of season 1. The second season was a little disappointing as it was without as many surprises as the first, and the overall pace was much slower. I still enjoyed the season, but I found the plot to be less intense. I felt like Timothy Dalton's character was a shadow of the last season; he was almost unnecessary. Frankenstein's monster was a highlight of the season.

Characters come to life in sn 2. Things believed 2 be true are proven true. Dr. Frankenstein, the wolfman, devil, witch the monster. My favorite part was the monster saying fairwell to his jailers. Looking forward to sn 3.

EVen though I watch it on an HDTV, the transfers are great. They make this look stunning at times. The stories are wonderfully complex and the characters are great this second season. It was worth every "penny" for this set!

Penny Dreadful isn't a series that's quite as known as others, and that's a shame as it is a great series! A fresh take on classic literary characters, the two seasons do not disappoint! I'm looking forward to season 3!

The DVD series makes it much easier to keep the continuity of the story without having to wait one week before the next episode. One can binge watch entire series over one weekend! This series is very exciting!

I love PennyDreadful, the second season is even more spectacular than the first, I have both season's of this show, just love it. The directing, cinematography, the costumes, the actors...Amazing!!! 5 stars!

This series is one of the best show on tv. I do not subscribe to premium cable so buying this DVD set enables me to binge watch an entire season in one sitting. The series is well worth investing your time!

From the beginning I knew I would love penny dreadful. It reminds me somewhat of the league of extraordinary gentlemen but darker. It's beautifully made and has a great cast. Eva Green is amazing! ❤️
