This first season was awesome. The cast has great dynamics and the story keeps you on your toes. It sort of reminds me of American Horror Story but set overseas! Can't wait for the second season!

If you liked ''League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'' the movie and the TV show "Ripper Street" then you will find that ''Penny Dreadful'' is right up that same dark Victorian era alley!

The best movie to end the Fast & Furious trilogy. It packs plenty of action and by keeping the real cast. It shows a true story line of all the characters through the entire series.

Saw the first episode thanks to free preview and had to see the rest of season 1. Very interesting how they weave many different (separate) horror stories together. Very entertaining.

This is a great show with an amazing cast. It follows the stories of classic horror film characters such as Frankenstein and Dracula with interesting twists and turns along the way.

I am reviewing because Best Buy offered me extra points to do a review. They're DVDs. They played moving talking pictures when I put them in my player. Good times.

Upon reading the reviews and seeing the trailer, I though this would be another lame Supernatural knockoff. It wasn't, I was pleasantly surprised. I watched the entire season in two days and I'm anxiously waiting for season two.

I find this series to be similar to "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" except this one is very well done. It includes some very well-known characters and gives subtle new twists on their personas. I can't wait until season 2!

Timothy Dalton can do no wrong in my opinion. And this series is a great vehicle for the brilliant actor. Everyone in the series is perfectly cast, and it is chilling and thrilling to watch. Looking forward to what comes next.

great quality Blu Ray transfer, classic pulp heroes/anti-heroes, monsters, villains and the occult in a classic setting. It's a fresh take on the tried and true. Get it.

Strikes the perfect balance between Gothic art-house horror and gory B-movie action; visuals look great!!!! Eva Green who steal the show with her amazing performances.

if you haven't watched it, you should. I don't buy all the TV series, this one is well worth it. It action packed it is well written , can't wait till next season

Penny Dreadful nails it with great dialogue and chemistry between characters.. Great seeing the past movie monsters in this show in a fresh, new take. A must buy!

A great concept: Stories based on literary characters (Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, etc.). The A/V quality is excellent (w/Dolby TrueHD audio) and informative extras, although not too extensive.

Great writing, even better acting!! This is a series worth collecting for the very busy who just want something to enjoy during their little downtime!

I got this on a whim after catching an episode at a friend's. Of course I quickly got hooked. Great writing, great acting, and very interesting characters. After finishing I quickly bought season 2!
