Interesting Program, but becoming predictable

The basic plot line of this program is interesting and has lead to some entertaining episodes. However, there is a lack of balance in the second season between the overall government intrigue and the individual episodic scenarios.

I like this cop show because it is different from other cop shows. I am glad they are adding more females to the cast, it helps to keep the variety of the show always changing. Looking forward to seeing next season.

First, a summary of my individual episode ratings:
Of the 22 episodes, 13 of them I would give top marks, 8 I would assign a 4.5, and 1 I would assign a 4.0. I average this out to a full score of 5.0 for the whole season.
'Person of Interest's second season starts off in a big way, with a two episode conclusion to the last episode, series highlight 'Firewall.' This season really shows off the series' potential as so much more than another network procedural. Unfortunately, three episodes aside, we don't get to see that potential pay off until almost halfway thru the season. Fortunately, however, even those episodes that don't play into the larger plot in any major way are very to extremely entertaining on their own. In addition to the sheer enjoyment factor, each of these episodes do add bits and pieces to the overarching plot.
But when the show really gets going (pretty much every episode from 'Shadow Box' on is excellent), you can see just how big of a deal this is for network television. The first season, to my mind, pretty much conquered everything else on network television rather handily. This season puts it on par with the best of cable and pay television. If you've been keeping up with the third season, you know that statement isn't even a stretch anymore.
As for the picture and audio quality, this release is tops, no question about it. Like 'Lost' and 'Game of Thrones' before it, this series represents the best of television in high-definition. It's practically a whole new experience, the aired versions looking gimped in comparison.
The one shortcoming of this release is the special features. For whatever reason, there just aren't many of them. Any fan should love what's offered, but we really deserve more of what's here. Quantity not quality is the only problem here.
If you've heard of this show, but have yet to invest in it, I strongly suggest picking up the seasons on Blu-ray. One of the best things on television, and currently only getting better as it progresses (hopefully it can keep this up). This high-definition representation is as good as it gets, and while the special features are undoubtedly light, it certainly shouldn't deter any potential fan from getting these.

Burn Notice and Batman with a geeky twist.

The first season was good but the second season was great. This season starts after the audience's realization that The Machine isn't just a computer program but a sentient being. Last season was more of series of missions to help others with this season mixes more of the story of The Machine itself and why Finch created it to think and feel as well as the governments hold on it. We are introduced to two new characters, Root and Shaw. Root is a brilliant hacker, as brilliant as Finch, but with a twist. She's a complete psychopath. Her objective is to free The Machine and worship it as her god. And she will kill anyone who gets in her way. Shaw is another CIA assassin like Reese who is betrayed by her agency when she asks too many questions about her assignments and too close to their secrets. She is inherently good like Reese but a sociopath; lacking any feeling or empathy. The writing is great this year with a more complicated story line than last. There is still plenty of action but with a few more twits and turns. If you are a fan of Burn Notice give this a try. It's a darker show but better written. Enjoy.

This was my favorite new show last season. This season it got even better. It has a similar ideology as The Dark Knight trilogy to me. A few good cops trying to clean up their corrupt city with the help of vigilantes. Enjoyable.

Best Procedural on TV

I had no interest in this show when I first read about it when it was in the pilot stage. After all, it's a procedural on CBS. That usually signifies that the program is garbage. That's not the case here. While the show doesn't get very intellectual with its premise, it's still an interesting twist on the standard formula and is quite relevant.
Jim Caviezel is serviceable in his role while Michael Emerson is excellent in his.
The set contains an above average a/v presentation but is light on extras. Recommended.

2nd season is more exciting than the 1st!

The already intellectually stimulating series gets better in the 2nd season, as the focus turns towards trying to overthrow the corrupt hierarchy in the NYPD known as HR, and attempting to address threats posed to the machine. The stakes increase throughout the season!
