Even for someone who hasn't followed the Persona series, this game is an experience. Incredibly stylish, engaging, and a story that easily gets you invested. Addicting soundtrack to back up its visuals.

My first Persona game was Persona 4 Golden and I loved it. I came into this game wanting some more of the same I guess and was a little disappointed. It is very in your face and very "Japanese" I guess you can say but, I kept playing for about an hour and I was hooked. I got used to how over the top some things are. Gameplay is a lot of fun, it is very very pretty, and the story is awesome! I am a ton of hours in and I haven't even scratched the surface.

From the Sega Dreamcast on, this is the best JRPG to ever come out. If you are a fan of great games, you owe yourself to experience one of the best stories, gameplay, and presentation of the genre.

This is my first Persona game and I can tell I will love this series. The music, style, and visuals in this game are extremely well polished. It's a very fun game with both rpg and story elements.

This is a magnificent game. Taking everything from Persona 3 and 4, and improving on it, adding new stuff, and enlarging it to an 80 hour or longer game. You are totally served by how you want to play as, besides the usual easy, norma,l hard, and nightmare difficulties, there is safe. If you die in a fight you are fully revived, but the enemies are not. Basically you can never lose so you have no reason not to finish the game. Beware though, because if you choose this difficulty level you cannot change it, and it offers almost no challenge at all.

This game is phenomenal. The story sucks you in, and the gameplay is very fun. I had never played a Persona game prior to this one, and no previous experience is necessary. I love this game!

If you enjoyed Persona 3 and 4, you will love this game. It has a great art style and music with similar gameplay. If prefer the earlier series or the DS spinoffs, this might not be for you.

This game is loaded with super interesting characters, a fantastic story, amazing music, and loads of replayability. The only way to make it better would be to have it on a portable system.

This is a fantastic JRPG just like its predecessors. You don't need to start with the previous ones to play this one as they all have different story lines. Great combat and great story!

Even if you're not into the JRPG genre of video games, I assure you this game will entrap you with it's dramatic thrilling story line and it's amazing fluid and stylish gameplay!

Great game if you give it a chance. It starts off slow but the combat is great if you like classic turn based RPGs. The story is interesting and not childish like some games.

I just finished the fourth dungeon so far and I'm about 50 hours in but so far I can say that it is an improvement over Persona 4 which I also really liked. Persona 5 has a ton of content and a huge variety of things to do (I'm about halfway through I believe). This game is also the most accessible game in the series so definitely give it a go if you are on the fence. I'd easily rate this a 9 or 10. Pros - Very unique gameplay that mixes visual novel style life sim with the dungeon crawling found in Shin Megami Tensei, veterans of Persona 3 and 4 will feel at home as you go about your Japanese high school life - Story is an improvement over Persona 4, the main character has faults and isn't perfect like Persona 4's main character, also the villains have much better build up - More elements taken from the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series like negotiation and using the demon designs for enemies - New attack elements like nuclear, psi, dark/holy, and guns add some more variety to the battles - Very stylish presentation and amazing soundtrack add a lot to the experience, the song "Last Surprise" feels as though its designed to get stuck in your head as it plays in most battles - Party members are all useful this time, can't go wrong with any combination so you can use your favorites, best of all you can now switch party members in dungeons and later mid battle - Main party persona designs are the best in the series - Best dungeon designs in the series (adds platforming and more puzzles) and there's a dungeon that is randomly generated like tartarus in Persona 3 that opens up more as you progress in the story Cons - Story sometimes forces you to pass time or sleep when you want to do other things, this isn't really a problem as much as it is annoying sometimes - A con for some people would be having to finish the game twice to get all the trophies, its a really long game and you have to go through lengthy dialogue (which you can fast forward but still takes awhile)

I'm not normally into games like this but I've already sunk 30+ hours in. The characters, style, and story are great and the game pulls you in and makes it hard to let go.

If you love RPG's, do yourself a favor and pick up the exceptional title. Fun combat, engaging story, and memorable characters flesh out this amazing gameplay experience.

I'm not a huge Persona fan but this one has a more interesting story and game play is top notch for old jrpg turn based system fans. A must buy in my honest opinion.

This Persona game offers a great story, but what makes it special is it's presentation. The graphical style and design really stands out and the music is fantastic.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to finally get to the Persona series, but once I did I dove in and have yet to come back up for air. These games are awesome and should be mandatory playing for JRPG fans, and highly recommended for almost everyone else.

Not only does this game look absolutely beautiful, it is a blast to play too. One of the best stories among many recent game releases. This one is a must play.
