If you're a Phan fan then I don't think you could possibly pass up the opportunity to see AS in his last performance as The Tall Man. I was so delighted to find this on BluRay and on sale at BB. A great buy and such a delight for a fan of the series.

    Phantasm Reaches Full Circle

I am a Phantasm super fan, have been lucky enough to meet Reggie Bannister, Angus Scrimm, and Don Coscarelli on a few different occasions. All very professional, kind and courteous actors/director. It was so good to see all the beloved characters of the franchise that started 37 years ago. Once again Reggie is back looking for Mike after the events of Phantasm IV Oblivion..Reggie goes through time, jumps forward, back, from side to side and everywhere in between, some scenes he is younger, some older, some in the present moment. All the characters return with even Rocky from Part III which was a nice surprise at the end of the film. Reggie spends his time looking, questioning, asking, smooth talking girls, playing guitar, singing, shooting, getting chased by spheres small and SUPER LARGE in basically the future which has become the Land of the Tall Man. Thankfully a group of resistance fighters rescue Reggie before its too late, one of them being Mike. The movie leaves the viewer with the thoughts of the franchise finally ending, as the group of friends is reunited after a lifelong battle with The Tall Man, his dwarfs, his spheres, the lady in lavender, and everyone possessed by evil...you decide..or maybe half the movie was a dream with certain parts of reality being true and others being part of Reggie's mind in flux...

A surreal trip for fans only.

This movie is surreal and very much open for interpretation. I think a lot was compromised with the real life death of the main antagonist's actor as well as the low budget. I think they did the best with what they had. There are no clear cut answers for something that's supposed to end the series at the same time I think that keeps the spirit of the first film's surreal tone and ending. I didn't like this at first but, after thinking about it I can appreciate it more as a surreal peace. This has a lot of nods only fans will appreciate and this is who this film was made for. This film is a labor of love and I'm sure all the people who were in this believed in what they were doing. If your new to the series start with the first but, if your a long time fan this is probably a must. Due to the low budget this looks very much like a fan film shot with a cheap low budget digital camera. At the same time the image is clean and the characters are lovable where you forget about the aesthetics. Fans only until you watch the first four as this is not a stand alone story.

Don't expect to have every single question answered in fact this leaves the door open. I'm not sure how they could follow this up with Angus Scrimm's passing. This was a much more satisfying sequel than part 4. It's obvious thought that this started out as a web series because it feels almost episodic in places. All in all, it plays out well and gives some closure to the characters we have spent time with for over 35 years.

It was an okay installment to the Phantasm series. I enjoyed it here and there but came away only partially satisfied. Oh well. I was sad to hear that Angus Scrimm had passed away. I'm a big fan of the first film, saw it when I was a kid. If this is the last Phantasm film than it is fitting, because it wouldn't be a Phantasm film without the "Tall Man".

As a long-time fan of the Phantasm films, and the owner of a Black, 1970 440-6 Pack Cuda in the late 70's, I was pleasantly surprised to see the production of a closure film for the series. Flashbacks, and all of the great characters fill the screen to bring back great memories.

Interesting Conclusion to the Phantasm Movies

"Phantasm: Ravager" is an interesting conclusion to the 5-movie Phantasm series. Angus Scrim reprises his role as the "Tall Man" and most of the previous characters in the four previous movies make appearances throughout. A good experience for any fan of this horror series.

Considering the 3rd and 4th installments were pretty substandard, this 5th and final Phantasm to feature Angus Skrimm and original cast , it's a better movie than the 3rd and 4th movies. I'd say give it a view but it doesn't compare to the first 2 movies.

The last of the Phantasm films is a must-buy for anyone who is a fan of the series. My only disappointment was that I was hoping for a longer extended scenes from the end of the movie besides the still montage that shows the final journey of the heroes.

It's been a long 18 years since Oblivion. If Ravager is in fact the final Phantasm, the series went out on a high note. I understand that the film has gotten some negative reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed it. RIP Angus Scrimm. You will be missed.

I have been waiting a long time to see the return of this franchise. I didn't have high hopes going in and I didn't leave amazed. It brought back the beloved characters and gave you some entertainment but I feel it could have been better.

If you are a "Phan" then you owe it to yourself to watch this last sequel in the Phantasm franchise to close it out. It is a fitting conclusion that gives closure to the series and all of your favorite characters return one last time.

This is a better bookend then some of the earlier films, while still delivering characters you love and odd situations you expect. Lots of fun and a nice conclusion for the saga.

Ravager is a pretty good final bow for the Phantasm series. It was a little disjointed but eventually I figured out what was going on and it made sense. worth a view.

This was directed by a guy from Disney who does kids' movies, and it shows. I was disappointed in the overall weakness of the film, from script and effects to the weak ending. With all the stars returning for the final effort, it's too bad Coscarelli and company couldn't find a budget appropriate to the franchise's iconic status. Worth seeing because it's Phantasm, but if not for nostalgia I'd recommend passing on this one. Three stars because...'Cuda, I guess. Recommended for fans only.
